When I got back late with the family car it was an automatic grounding of a week with no car, you didn’t waste your time asking for it, you just waited your week. Man up Greg.

Greg should have told Bobby that he no longer wants to take him to the frog jumping contest at the time he got grounded from driving the family car so he wouldn't have to miss the rock concert.

@@MisterMikeTexas This particular episode painted Greg as a weasel. He usually was not this lowdown or scheming ... just girl crazy and into waxing the surfboard and sometimes writing really dreadful pop songs, LOL. I think character behavior sometimes depends on who is writing that week's script, and once in a while they'll make a character act different. Kinda stupid, really ... you'd think _someone_ at the table read, maybe Sherwood Schwartz or a producer or cast member, would chime in and say "But Greg isn't a total d!ck, like in this episode".

  • @alondralabute2310

To be 100% fair, Greg should've asked if his exact words thing could've started at the present moment he was making this deal. He was being held to exact words he'd spoken before all this happened. But since he didn't think of it they held him to his exact words no matter how long ago they were spoken. It's rough to have to give up the rock concert for a stupid frog jumping contest. And the money he spent on the tickets.

Back in the days when we needed babysitters when our parents went out, my mother would tell us before the sitter arrived, "If I get any bad reports from the sitter, you will not go out to play tomorrow." When I hoped that it would be a rainy day, she would say, "If it is such a nasty day, that nobody can go out, then we'll hold off on it until the next nice day."

My brothers didn't have to do anything but take out the trash (a 5-minute job) once every other week since there were 2 of them. How does that compare to washing the dishes 2 or 3 times a day? I'd have gladly traded with them. It was never a 5-minute job either.

First he drove recklessly with a child in the car, then got caught and punished, then he drove a friend's vehicle while grounded without car privileges and when caught he made up that whole "You just said 'you're not allowed to drive the car', you didn't say anything about other cars" b-llsh-t.
Plus, buttering up Mike about the architecture plans just to try and get his way, that was lowdown and sleazy. @pacnwguy9056 I saw your reply in another post. Greg did disobey his parents. I'll explain it in another scenario to you. If Greg had gotten into an accident with George Thompson's car and was found liable. The victim's insurance company would not only go after the Thompsons, but considering that Greg was under the age of 18, they could go after the Bradys as well. Even though George gave Greg permission to use his vehicle, his parents pay the insurance for his vehicle, and Greg is NOT AN AUTHORIZED DRIVER ON THEIR POLICY.

Well, if they were living by exact words then they were definitely not going to a DINNER date that night. They might be going to a SUPPER date, but dinner is at NOON, so a date at NIGHT can NOT be a DINNER date. :-) #DinnerIsAtNoon #SupperIsTheEveningMeal #KeepingItRural
