If only these guys could have been pretentious jerks but, no, they had to go and be down to earth humble guys that just happen to be musical geniuses. Damn them.
+Jason Desjardins Your 100% correct. Met them all last month in Houston after a show... Amazing musicians and very very down to earth.. Was a real treat!
+Jason Desjardins You can't be such an amazing musician if you're not down to earth as you can be, in my opinion... You become a famous rockstar, but their music is nothing about getting famous. Just amazing music
Being down to earth is an incredibly important part of becoming that good. Only the most logical and understanding people can identify their weaknesses and perfect them to the point where they have none, it's a shame that so many people aren't interested.
A rock style guitarist who plays like the best jazz players has a lot to do with that, though all three are true virtuoso level talents. As a musician it impresses me to no end (you should hear Guthrie solo over blues)… though I find I have be in an almost working/writing mindset for it, otherwise its just too much work
“Intelligent music” ??!!? I actually don’t want to know what you mean by that. Actual intelligence would call for a rhythm section that can groove rather than diddle. I mean, if you’re clearly playing to a beat, those making that beat would know how. All I hear is jamming and noodling behind an exceptionally gifted guitarist. Decidedly NON-intelligent.
@@MoonWalkerTexsRanger I’m very picky about drummers. I can’t stand his style of playing elaborate fills where an accent is needed. A doodler is the polar opposite of a groover, and I have no respect for doodling at the kit. Just pointless.
Normally I don't really like music like this, but The Aristocrats are a treat. Love the fact they're in it for the music. All three of them could have easily played in "big" bands, but they stayed true to themselves.
These guys are so tight that helium won't pass between them. Guthrie can shred steel girders back to their individual atoms, yet with expressiveness so large it can be viewed from space. I love their initials: GG, MM, BB. Hats off to the Inspector Gadget riff at 4:19.
I have just returned from their show. Such a positive vibes, guys are humble with great approach to audience, very funny, they dont take themselves seriously...
That guitarist is RIDICULOUS smooth and accurate. They tightness of all 3 of them is just crazy good. What a joy to hear that talent is still alive in the age of "pop/rap".
Uninvited Guest That's Guthrie Govan, widely regarded as one of the best guitar players in the world. Not only can he shred like crazy, but also can make wonderfully soulful and tasty solo's. Check out his collaboration with Steven Wilson, the songs 'Ancestral', 'Drive Home' and 'Regret#9' are my personal favorites.
Gunther is the bomb... I've known about Marco for some years now and Bryan is certainly no slouch - nobody plays for Zappa, LaBrie and Vai unless they have a serious "cat" card credential.
If only music like this was being played at the more popular music festivals. Can you imagine those dirty, lovestruck, spun out ragamuffins grooving to music of this caliber in a place like Bonnaroo or even smaller scale fests? Before you think "yeah why waste this talent in a place where the majority of the people there have no way of appreciating it" I want to remind you that this music is so amazing that the audience would be blown away, no matter the setting, and that it's places where youth culture is so concentrated that music like this really needs to be introduced. Less 4/4 beats antique with that "one gnarly sax solo" and more of this next level funkatronic jam!!!
Marko Barrows As a young person myself, I'll have to criticize you: "that one gnarly sax solo"? Most kids would use slang like, "Gucci Gang is lit, fam." and rap rarely, if evver, has saxophones. Anyway, all in all, I agree with your sentiment. Thanks for the insight.
Wow, you sound like a real snob, saying this. It hurts that most people are too casual about the depthless possibiliteis of music, and chose to swim at the surface, but you need to get your head out of your ass from time to time, man.
Oh my God! This guy is great. I just read about Guthrie Govan in this month's issue of Guitar Player. He is everything they said and more. I have a new favorite guitarist now. This guy is great and so are his bandmates. This reminds me of Jeff Beck's best stuff, but with a lot more of an edge to it. This is where Beck was trying to go, but Govan doesn't try. He GETS there and waaaaaaaaaaay beyond.
If you watch any of his interviews you will see your statement his squarely on the head. He teaches to not think about the music rules but instead think of it like your first language were just like you do not think about the rules of grammar when speaking your feelings do not think about the rules of music while you are playing let the music just flow like words do.
I have been listening to Guthrie's new rig (the Charvel and the Victory amp), and I have decided that this Suhr rig kicks ass on it. Not that the new stuff sounds bad, as it sounds great, obviously. But this rig is insanely awesome tone-wise. So fat and rich with harmonics. I wish he had stayed with this gear instead, but I guess having someone make you signature gear is hard to pass up. In any case, thanks for the clip. This is my favorite live version of this song.
I meant that his old rig (the one he's using in this video), sounds superior to his new rig (the Charvel/Victory rig). That's all, and simply my humble opinion.
Wow I never knew that these guys did a project like this together. My favorite guitarist is Jeff Kollman and he has a trio called "Cosmosquad" that's just bass, drums, and guitar and they do live shows and have a few albums and the music is very similar to this and I've always loved it. I never knew something similar like this was out there. If you haven't heard of Cosmosquad and you like this, check them out! Jeff Kollman is the greatest guitarist you've never heard of, with a very unique sound and style about him...The same can also be said about their drummer, Shane Gaalaas Great video, stuff like this is the real deal!!
Класс, покатила гитарная Жесть, обожаю Marco Minnemann и Вас, парни ещё с 2012 г., Владивосток. Я запал на Ваши гитарные замесы и конечно Marco Minnemann. (Серёга из ТТ). Владивосток
Yeah it is... That Suhr sounds as good as it gets! The songs "greasy wheel" and "get it like that".... Just incredible. I've been watching those for about 300 times each day and still can't get over it! Mind blowing!
Imagine being such a good guitarist that John Petrucci plays bass for you
hahaha!
Lol
And Paul Gilbert plays percussion for you.
lol
Hahahahahshah

I've met a handful of amazing musicians. They're all super nice. Especially Bumblefoot

if they were, they couldn't play like that. geniuses all have in common that they are very dedicated and practice to perfection.
Those Lord of the Rings characters sure know how to play music.
+Sigurpáll Viggó Snorrason Marco looks a little like Aragorn.
HAHAHAHAHAHHA
+Sigurpáll Viggó Snorrason roflmao :3 xD
Dead.
Guthrie Govan legendary bard.
Happy to see Zlatan is playing the bass nowadays.
Nicolas Perriault yeahhh man uniteddd
😂
holy shit the drummer
04:19 Guthrie's face with the inspector gadget theme is priceless :D
Very intelligent music. On the border of the world of rock and jazz. Three musicians who understand each other brilliantly.
A rock style guitarist who plays like the best jazz players has a lot to do with that, though all three are true virtuoso level talents. @artsyanmobile calling Marco Minneman a doodler is a crazy thing to say

These three cats are on the top of their game.
Marco Minnemann is my personal biggest influence for drums. Just amazing.
Isn't he the greatest!? Him and martin Lopez are my favorites!!
Jordan Money
what about morgan agren!?
Never heard of him! Sorry
Jordan Money check him out dude, in my opinion he is one of the greatest drummer of all time.
Ok, I will! Thanks!
marcos drums are the same finish as Guthrie guitar
and basically as Bryan's bass.
Totally true....at one point I was actually just looking at marco's playing...he so damn good
Can't unsee
5:24 - 5:28 look at Marco
forkedtongue7 lmao he casually twisted those mf sticks while he was playing like it’s nothing
Just glad these three decided to visit our planet and managed to escape entrapment in Area 51
Hahaha!! Yes!
Guthrie’s technique is flawless and his creativity is just mind blowing!
Guthrie plays so melodic that I forget how fast he can play!!! What a freaking beast!!!!!
07:14 introductions:
GG on Guitar
MM on Drums
and
BB on bass.
F..... mindblowing, dude!
GG on Guitar,
BB on Bass,
and
MM on Mrums*.
michael12201 I will frame your comment. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I would say the other way - Darco Dinemann on Drums. But well, yours is way better. :D
Well Marco does play Multiple instruments so

Fantastic group of musicians. They are fantastic!!!
This studio and the audience reminds me of led zeppelin's danish tv appearance in 60's. ! \m/
It's like a jazzy Rush, it's amazing!

ist ze best comment aus die internet!!!
I think this type of guys are marking the line for the new generation of virtuoso guitarrist, just amazing
1:19 this is such a beautiful melody
Don't let the fact that they're amazing virtuosi technical musicians make you forget that this is such a pretty melody.

+Cyborg Rabbit I can fully relate to you. You funny and smart. Keep being you.
Yeah man. This'd be awesome at a large festival. Though I'd feel a little sad knowing my enjoying the aristocrats wasn't "my thing" anymore! Haha! :)
Cyborg Rabbit plenty of festivals play music like this

Guthie is just awesome. The change of feel into the jazzier section at 4:05 is sublime.

Govan goes beyond all labels and genres. Blues rock, shredder, lounge jazz. Holy crap!
Perfect definition of the word "band"
