      The slain god of death, the paradox of his corpse leading to the rot of his body becoming a god unto itself. A god of decay, of rot, of the inevitable end of all things. Entropy.

    *_Boletus deus,_* or more commonly, "That Which Eats Its Remains," is a deity known primarily from the story of its creation. It came into being as what was originally a regular spore, which landed upon and began to devour the corpse of a dead god. However, as the spores devoured the divine body, they began to inherit the essence of the deity, as well as inhabit the nature of the mushrooms they formerly existed as. Eventually, "they" turned into "it," and formed into the representation of the concept that decay exists as an extant form of life.
    It is also well known for one of its core abilities, which stems from its nature as a fungus and a god of decay. Upon its death, it releases a large cloud of spores which will land upon the now defeated god's corpse, devouring it entirely and forming the god again, a display of the concept that it inhabits. It will commonly flaunt the fact that you can not kill it in a way that matters, as it will simply reform anew.

      Also theres a mushroom that when dying rebirths itself from its decaying past form.
      Quite terrifying and Lovecraftian while being real.

    "You really don't know the name of God? Well, he's been standing right in front of you this whole time."
    The mushrooms inside the dead god's chest cavity all seemed to cackle coldly.
    "So before you continue to be rude, ask my name."
    The human trembled, trying to hold their gun up to the mushrooms, to have a grasp on any kind of strength.
    "W..what is your...name..?"
    The mushrooms began to release spores, and the human felt as though every part of their body was bleeding.
    "It is...
    Mushy-roomb."

    "The fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make"
    I'm confused is the mushroom god afraid or is it creating fear
    Also extant means still existing so the sentence "decay exists as an extant form of life" is confusing

    • @nugget1631
      @nugget1631 Рік тому +30

      I think the idea with the first part is that the mushroom has a far deeper understanding of the universe than we could ever conceive, and it knows what it should really be scared of is far, far bigger than a human with a gun. It's basically saying he's completely insignificant, he can't kill him "in a way that matters".
      I believe the second part is stating that decay is a state of being, an alternative way of living, not something exclusive to the dead. It's entirely possible to decay while alive.

    • @DirtyDan-qk5bu
      @DirtyDan-qk5bu Рік тому +8

      I was thinking more like the mushroom know greater fear than s human can. If it fails in it's duty, nothing can be broken down, and nothing can ever grow again. That is what the mushroom fears. Its job is to decay, which is a necessary part of the cycle of life.

    • @DeathbatOfSpades
