Pasta Expert here: No, pasta does NOT absorb cheese. It absorbs the oils in cheese, but the problem with instant mac n cheese like Kraft Dinner is that there are no oils in it due to it being a powdered (and frankly incredibly overprocessed) cheese flavoring. There isn't any actual cheese in it. If you want to do this properly, you can use real cheese and less water in a risotto style, but this mainly works with rice as others have said in the comments. You are better off following Rouge's instructions by cooking the pasta, draining the water, THEN, add some butter and/or a bit of milk. This will help your cheese be smoother (especially if you use both butter and milk) and also makes Kraft Dinner taste better too. Shadow may not like following instructions, but that is no excuse for literally making pasta the wrong way. Yes, it is the wrong way.
