- Lake Erie Golf Cars has been known to install a radio in a golf car or two. There was a time when we even installed TV's and surround sound. It didn't work out so well for the batteries, but man was it cool. Now with more sophisticated batteries and powering systems, we can get back to what we love! Installing a premium sound system in your golf car is, well, fun. It isn't every golf car we get to do it to, so if you have one, you are one of the few. But the sound quality is amazing. It turns your golf car into a night club. All you have to do is bring the disco ball. This sound system connects to your phone via bluetooth. You flip a switch on the dash, and connect it to your phone for the first time in your bluetooth menu. After that it connects automatically. The sound is pumped through five speakers and powered by an all-weather amplifier. The bass is driven by a JL Audio six-inch subwoofer.
Nice setup it I used to work for a professional golf cart assembly company.. I built armored golf carts, villagers, customized a Cru prototype you name it. It's insane what people do to customize golf carts and how easily they'll drop $30-40k on a custom car.
Old video I know but still great setup. How do you keep the remote power without the inverter running/draining battery? Or does the head unit just reset every time?
On most models, we install an on /off switch to prevent the drain on the power. This is more like a Bluetooth speaker than a traditional radio. So it doesn't have radio stations. To control the sound, there is a crossover by the battery to set your sound. There is a new unit out that does retain the settings and is hooked directly into the system of the cart much like an automobile. But it is only for certain models.
What kind of mounts are you using for the dash speakers? I like how you can somewhat use the cubby.
For inside the dash they are installed to the top of the glovebox with spacers. Nuts and bolts are usedinstead of screws.
how do you convert a 72v lithium down to 12v for a new amp ?? TIA ..... that cart ROX
The is a converter installed under the seat. Not sure of the brand. I can see if I can get that answer.
@@legolfcarsdid you find what converter you used?
what amp is that??
Hey! Thanks for watching! The amp we use is the Audio Control ACX-300.4 All-Weather Amplifier. Here is a link from Crutchfield, although I wasn't able to be share where we get it from since we distribute them.

Where are the batteries?
The battery is a lithium one and it is under the subwoofer.
