    The sticky (glutinous) rice is cooked first and then soaked in water.

    You can keep it in the fridge for about 2 weeks. You can freeze it if you want to keep it longer.

    Hi Nana, I love all your cooking videos. You're such an awesome chef. When you have time can you make a video on how to make the crispy fried pork ears that we eat with papaya salad. I dont know how to get it to have the crispness to it. Thank you Nana...keep all your videos coming.

      Mai Hang thank you for your comment. I haven't had time to make new videos yet. For the pork ears, you just have to slice it thin and dry it in the sun then deep fry.. same as beef jerky.

    Once fermented, can this be frozen for easy grilling a piece at a time later? I'd like to try make this and portion out as I go.

      suwathara son I have never tried using yeast instead of rice. I don't know if it will work. Yes, som pa (sour fish), is similar procedure.

    How did this not rot after three days raw at room temperature? Fascinating! I've never tasted your ethnic type of food. I think it's one of the few I haven't.

      brightpurpleviking it's like making pickles, but using pork.

      Yes, after the pour has soured, you can freeze it until you are ready to cook it.
