As a "Captain's daughter," I felt a strong pull with #7, "Fireproof."
I am a retired Fire Captain. Ladder 49 came as close to the way it is for a structural fire fighter that I have ever seen. Back draft was exciting but a far as firefighting it was B.S. Coat open, no SCBA (Self-contained breathing apparatus) Dig in? Dig into what? In a structure fire there is no way to film through the smoke. Everything is by feel and sound. When you reach the fire, it is a dual orange glow. Like being in an oven when it is set to self-clean. Only The Brave is as true as it gets.
Backdraft is my favorite
Backdraft is amazing
I think that the original 1986 film called London's Burning is a good film. There was a television series that went on for about twenty years after the original film, which started about 2 years after the film.
The film was showing what the job of Firefighter was for Ethnic, a black firefighter, and Joesey, the new girl in the fire station. About the time of the Brixton riots, in London.
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job ladder 49 and only the brave are two of the very best movies ever 😊❤
Ladder 49 and Backdraft are WAY underrated...
I believe Backdraft is better than any in this list. And Ladder 49 is just under it. But not so far.
Fire proof is amezing

The Only The Brave is the better i cry because the story is 19 crew members lost the lives because help the people and the only one survive
Backdraft is definitely better than Towering Inferno. I can give Only The Brave as a top three but for my money Backdraft should be number 1
