Just seeing all the colourful clothing in your closet made me want to hear more from you, so I have subscribed to learn how to incorporate more color into my wardrobe.
The flowers add so much to the appearance of life and style to your video setting. I appreciate you taking the time to buy them and arrange them and choose an effective space for them. So beautiful !
measuring and looking from afar gives us very different views, of course. and instead of measuring my clients's body, I just look at it and aske what they would like to change and keep and work on that just by changing the sillouette with clothes, shapes and colors instead of measuring.
Excellent & interesting advice regarding figuring out your figure. Most of my life I’ve struggled with being pear shaped with muscular limbs & being broad, yet narrow side on. I also sometimes have to go up a size as armholes cut into my underarms. Since 2020 I have changed my eating to ‘real food’ low carb/no sugar, regular swimming, yoga, reformer pilates & walking over 10k steps a day. It is amazing how you can change your body shape & how different styles of clothing can change how you look too.
I’m glad you raised the profile body silhouette. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, how we are viewed by ourselves and others by many angles besides full frontal. But menopause turned me into a barrel shape so I pretty much look the same from all angles =/
That's quite a common experience through menopause. But there's still likely distinguishable curvatures in your profile view, especially in key areas like bust and butt.
Menopause and a mastectomy changed me from big busted curvy on a narrow frame to small busted with a belly. From the front and back, I look like my waist is smaller but it measures almost the same as my bust. My shoulders are narrow too. I deal with this when I'm sewing by cutting the back pieces two sizes smaller and the front 2 sizes bigger than my "size" .
Goodness me! You've had some big changes, and it's inspiring to hear that you've learned to adjust to the new reality. I hope you've found peace and beauty in this new season. Thank you for sharing your story with me! ❤️ ❤️
For the longest time I didn't really understand my figure and what was flattering on me. The body shapes system was helpful there, yes, but not sufficient. The missing link to me was finding out about Kibbe Body IDs. They include height, how strong, wide, balanced, delicate one looks & the vertical proportions. The emphasis is more on the bone structure, which - different than body shape - doesn't change anymore with adults. So this system explained, why some styles just don't ever work for me, no matter if I'm skinnier or bigger at the moment. And I change from a rectangle shape at my lowest to a pronounced triangle shape at my highest weight. 😅
That's great! I've looked into Kibbe and it feels complicated to me because there are 13 shapes, but it sounds like it's helped you so much. Maybe I should just figure my shape out, see how it helps me, and then go from there. 🤔 Do you watch Ellie Jean Royden? She teaches Kibbe, and I must admit, it's quite intriguing.
I have no clue what my body shape is. It measures rectangle or hourglass depending on whether I'm bloated or not, hourglass recommendations work much better and I'm told constantly that I an inverted triangle with my massive shoulders (which measure smaller than my bust and hips). These are the same shoulders that I have to alter patterns to be narrow enough for. For me the most helpful thing has been learning that I need small scale details, like ruffles, patterns, etc. Then I have learned that narrow silhouettes are better, so I can wear a full skirt but it can't be too bulky. Its a constant learning curve but I'm getting there.
Body shapes are WILD. I thought for years I was an inverted triangle with a long torso. I realized just a few months ago that my torso is on the shorter side and I’m actually a rectangle with a very full chest. And this is while I’m lamenting putting on about 20 pounds all over my body from working out consistently. I don’t even know what to do with all this😅
Congrats on working out consistently, and it sounds like you hit some goal weight! 👏👏 And perhaps you were previously that shape. That's why it's so important to update our self-perception: physically and mentally and spiritually.
I'm turning 42 this year and my body and even skin have been changing. 😬 (Where did this weight gain come from?) ☹ (All of a sudden my foundation is sliding everywhere by the end of the day!)😮 This video shows me to roll with those changes and be more okay with my *current* self. 😌 I support your business expense of flowers for videos!
Thank you for your support! 😂 And I've had a similar skin issue. All of a sudden, I had acne, and my aesthetician asked me to switch to all water-based skincare and makeup. I've always used oil based, because of my dry skin. I like how you said it: "Rolling with the changes". 😎
Just discovered your channel and binged a ton of your videos this week! 💕 Thanks for the excellent content, super high quality and helpful! I'm wondering if you'd consider making a video on how you always seem to achieve a smooth look under trousers, skirts, and dresses. Like how to avoid lumps and bumps when tucking in shirts, avoiding underwear lines, etc. Thanks for your guidance! 😎
Well, I'm so glad to hear that it looks smooth. That's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. 🙈 When I'm shopping, even if the skirt/pants look perfect, if I don't think I can wear it without VPL or creases from a tucked shirt, I pass. However, for my silk skirts, it's worth it to me to find a work around. Depending on the weather/necessity, I might: 1. Tuck the top into Spanx. 2. Wear a high-rise thong. And I do the same for dresses. I'll add this to my docket for an upcoming video, but hopefully this answer helps in the meanwhile.
🎉Yes, tell your husband the 🌹🌷 flowers are needed😉‼️ I am reading Atomic Habits now, lol. It is a best seller and a great read. Do you read any of Carol Tuttle's books on style/color type/ personality types? I have purchased and have not read yet, but I go back to my modeling days if you were "what season" as far as your best color type!! P.S. Great video, maybe if you would include us 59+ girls for your 🌼 Spring wardrobe,Ty🤗
LOL! I'm going to tell him there's strong support for the flowers. 😊 I haven't heard of Carol Tuttle, but I'll google her. As far as 59+ dressing, how can I better serve you? My audience is about 25% in that age category, so you're speaking for a lot of women! TIA 🙏
OMG I feel like a star! 🌟 Thanks for the shout out…we are so glad you are enjoying the flowers 😍
Hehe! You’ve blessed us all. Thank YOUUU ❤️

Yay! I hope you’re inspired to reach for those colorful clothes more frequently 🎨

Thanks! These were a delivery and a gift, so I can't take credit for the arrangement, but you're right -- they're gorgeous! 😍

I like that approach, too!
I use a 3 way mirror and it helps me dress well from all angles.
So good! 🙌
So glad I found your channel! 💖

Wow, that's inspiring! 👏 🙌 Thanks for sharing your body changes. It really is wondrous how our bodies respond to our lifestyle habits.

Lol. Yep and it just keeps getting better. I’m 65.

That opening black dress picture says it all...I NEVER ever dress as on the left. Oversize unfitten is terrible on me at 5ft 4" size 8.
I'm similar in height and size to you! I'm 5'5", size 8. 😊
