My 1956 schwin was the same colour which I rode each day 20 miles. I loved that so much in 1973 I became a centurion on a racer. But my heart still patters at that colour. By the way the 56 models still sells with no gears or hand breaks. if I did not need assist now, I would still ride it.
Thank You for your review. I bought this bike last year. I waited 6 months for it because of the shipping congestion in Calif. I ordered it with the front basket, and fenders. They were shipped immediately. I watched many reviews/ youtube videos during Covid lockdown. I, too, felt this was a good bike. I love the placement of the battery. Most reviews stated that it should be centered for weight distribution. The comfort level of this bike puts me back in the game, riding alongside my husband. I am over 50, and now I ride 25-30 miles at a time, where before, I was good at 3! I do not use the throttle, except for starting up. I really want to get the exercise and cardio a bike offers. This bike lets me customize the level of workout I want. If you are looking for an e-bike, look no farther than BLIX SOL.
Excellent presentation and audio. First, I guessed location was St George, Utah (same terrain). 3 questions: 1) specs appear same as Aveny and both have mechanical brakes 😢. 2) welding did not appear as smooth as in some other competitors 3) unlike Aveny, rack and fenders cost extra. Overall a nice beach cruiser. If Sol had hydraulic disk brakes and front fork suspension ithat would put it in the company of lots of other bikes
I have to say, I'm really impressed with the format of your testing, the graphs, etc. Love the web page and the video. Didn't see anything around keys/battery removal but I'll hit up your competitor's review for additional info there. Been looking at this bike for my wife (intro to e-bikes for both of us) and after watching your review I'm pretty sure this bike will be plenty for her
Thanks for the fabulous review. I find the build of this model very attractive and like the blue color, too. I am a little daunted by the size of the bike and the weight (I looked it up) - worried about getting it on a bike rack or carrying it up stairs. Otherwise, it seems fantastic.
Interesting you picked the Sol Eclipse. I bought the Aveny commuter as another person here mentioned. The bike is beautiful. The attention to detail is really something else on these bikes. I don't agree these bikes are meant for 5'2" which is my height. The length of the bike is harder to maneuver. I got the blue Aveny with matching front basket which I can't seem to put on without pinching the wires so that they don't get damaged. Anyway I wished Blix had put the 750watt motor on the Aveny. The hills around me are steep. I love your hill test and especially your braking test. I was worried my brakes weren't powerful enough at 20 mph.
Thanks for such a thorough review. The only missing piece for me would be feedback concerning terrain. I will be doing much of my riding on paved country roads with a fair amount of potholes and loose gravel. I don't really want a heavier bike so am hoping this model can handle that type of terrain. Do you think the Sol will work in those conditions? Thanks!

Exactly...the correct geometry let's you focus on the ride rather then the bike ....good thinking and nice cruiser too

Excellent review, and amazingly this bike has the fastest time up the hill (AFAIK). Surprising for a "Class 2". I'd bet it can be "opened up".

Does this bike have a cruise control mode? It gets fatiguing to have to constantly work the throttle if you decide to ride it without peddling.
Can we say Blix is the best uphill brand?
This was certainly one of the most impressive beach cruiser to go up a hill!

How come when I time your ascents of the hill using your video the numbers are about 1:20 and 1:14, respectively?

In my opinion from what i see on this video it is both. In the last part of the video the tester has one
foot flat on the ground while seated.
