- For years, tourists in Guatemala have climbed the Pacaya volcano with a bag of marshmallows in order to roast them on hot lava rocks. But now, on many days, David Garcia serves up another culinary option for hikers: pizza, heated by a volcano. CBS News political correspondent Ed O'Keeffe reports.

It’s not truly volcanic heat cooking the pizza. He uses charcoal and fire wood to start a fire and heat up an area he has formed into a makeshift oven.
Ingenious idea but price gouging at its finest!!!! Aint no pizza anywhere worth $35 for a small pizza.
Not really, this is not a volume business. Imagine having to walk hours (even if by horse) back and forth just to sell a few pizzas every trip. I see at as being creative and giving people an experience they are willing to pay. I would pay for that pizza in that situation (doesn't mean I would pay the same for a Papa Johns pie in Miami).
Well is a 3 hrs hiking caring about 70 pounds of ingredients and equipment Plus the time to make it and risk getting burn! To me that’s Not so much money when you think about all the effort to be able to make it happen! Is like selling water in Jupiter how much do you think it will cost if you had the chance to be the one bringing the water all the way there! Would you charge $1 like you do in the supermarket here? Of course not! Right?

As Mayan descendents most of people has Spanish as second or third language so even in Guatemala we have some issues with Spanish too. :)
Make sure to support your local vendors throughout the country. Especially indigenous 🙏🏽 pizza is not a traditional Guatemalan dish 😪
