Thanks for the great video. Lovely planes in action. Shame about the crashes and damage but that is all part of RC and well done to the guys for doing it. The people making negative comments have no idea how much stress many of the pilots are under: unfamiliar location, spectators watching, high winds, noise and other planes and pilots all around, fixed time slots that have to be adhered to. pure lack of flying skills in 90% of the cases... Rookie error aftewr rookie error. A lot of them seem to be totally unable to judge their apporach speed for example, coming in at a speed that would be more appropriate for a low pass than a landing (BF-109 at the beginning and at least one of the spitfires in the last third) Some simply don't flare, or aren't able to do a stabilized approach and are overcorrecting with elevator all the time instead of using the throttle. Others are just stalling their planes on apporach or even before... It amazes me all the time, how many of those big-scale pilots are simply overburdened with flying their planes. Alle the money, but none of the (required) skills.
One of the navy paintjob jets was rushing. They rushed into the air so much they nearly crashed on takeoff. And rushed to get down enough to crash on landing
Or the real ones either. I flew in my career, not as a pilot but as an observer, doing wildlife studies from the air, counting flocks of birds and such. I remember this one time I was at a glider field and this guy had this beautiful carbon fiber glider up. Thing was bright green, three meter wingspan, stood out for miles. The pilot was really experienced too, he'd been flying for thirty years or something. Then, all of a sudden, some idiot turned on his radio without checking if his channel was active: spoiler, it was. The pilot starts screaming that he'd hit interference, but it was too late. All he could do was watch as it took a nose dive and buried itself into the dirt up to the wing roots.
Damn. One time i was driving my traxxas rustler at the park, a hobbygrade rc car and it uses the 2.4ghz thing. Some guy was flying one of those early DJI phantom drones, and every time my rustler went anywhere near it's area, it'd sop responding to the remote for about 7 seconds before it starts driving again. same time i'd notice the guy's drone wander off a bit and it looked like he panicked whenever it happened. i wonder if that interference thing is why it happened.
What caused the DC -3 crash at 5:10? Either pilot error, or the elevator servo froze for a few seconds.. With the downhill momentum, the pilot should have flared way before the hard hit.
When I was a kid RC planes were small affairs, like not much bigger than Airfix models or something. Not massive monsters like these, half the size of the real thing! :O
Trying to land two jets at once is a rookie mistake to make. The air turbulence created by these jet engines is pretty rough within 50mtrs of the rear. These dude made a stupid move. Best to let each land and the other maintain landing ready circuit. Some beautiful models here, a great show of passion and commitment to one's passion ❤️❤️❤️
I reluctantly played this. There are many, 'Let's have a good laugh when this 'Toy' plane is transformed into a bag of balsa wood' videos. These clips were all sad, but quite dignified.
Where do these guys come from? I'm serious. They don't have enough sense to practice and make these mistakes with a $200-$400 foamie, as opposed to a 2K-5K piece of equipment.
Always get comments like this. Amusing but you have to consider this is a compilation. These guys fly at many shows and events throughout the year and these are just the small number of incidents that happen. They are generally few and far between. A compilation may make it seem more frequent. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Yep, I feel bad for their landing gear. Even on some instances, the plane is screaming "I'm stalling!!!!!" and thoses pilote don't see it. It is frustrating not being close to the pilots to hit their shoulders.....hey buddy wake up !!!!
There's a reason why we prefer grass over concrete. But your name says it all 😉
It's to do with how the grass can help with braking (grass more friction), reduce the impact (grass is more squishable than concrete / tarmac)
Some of these guys are embarrassingly sloppy and haven't the skill to pilot these gorgeous machines.
Well they built them and if the thing is gonna crash I’m gonna crash it. Plus ya gotta learn
Mike Parson I believe that. Every hour one spends building is an hour less spent on exercising landings.
If one spends tons of time and money and effort to build one of these beauties ya know they are not flying loose and comfortable. To much invested. Like Hollywood said when he turned in his wings “I’m holding on to tight, I’ve lost the edge.” So when you are to stiff on the sticks you are bound to crash
The C-47 hurt me bad!
3:12 And he’s okay, ladies and gentlemen!
I am stunned at the piloting skills.
Ik they’re terrible
My first time in an airplane was in an Allegheny Airlines DC3 to BUF. Must be the same pilot in this video
The second navy jet looks like he stalled waiting on his buddy to finish the approach. It do be like that sometimes. Great flying.

*ALARM!!*
*GERMAN BOMBERS DEAD AHEAD*
Wow. Awesome skills man. 👍🤪
10:12. Panther F9F is awesome!
Number 42 seemed underpowered from the start.
any crash that you can fly away from is a good one.
Looks like all RC crash pilots meets in one day at the same place. Unbelievible bad day
Martin Schmitt scale builders at work.
Because it look so cool
Any landing u can walk away from is a good landing
This had me on the edge of my seat . Great mix of some bad days and some really bad days
Excelente video y feliz año 2020 desde Chile 🇨🇱🤘😂😂
jose alejandro alvarado boteille that’s the Texas flag 😅
Nice to meet you buddy
It's a stable plane
But the smoke looks really good
Tell me what kind of smoke oil you used
🎵You can alwaayyyys goooo around!🎶
Affirmative on that Wolfchacer! Most didn’t get Too Banged Up, but it’s Scary & Sad to watch. I Cried when we had our 1st son .... I thought, “ Oh My God! THAT’S ALL I Get for all that Spent $$$ ! ..... should have made a plane ! “. Oooouuuch ! ! ! - oops..gotta go... Wifey saw my Comment... has a Great Right Hook... SHE wants to trade me for a RC Abrams A-1 & pair of Thermal Vision Goggles....said, “..at least THEY’D WORK at Night! Great Collection Essential RC, Kudos! Darth Airborne Nobody 55’ NYC
R/C planes: exist*
The grass: "All your wheels are belong to me"
wiederum sehr schöne Aufnahmen, die Verluste der Maschinen sind wohl sehr schmerzlich
3:33 why is the pilot incapacitated?
IREALLY WANT ONE😍😍🌈
I remember this one time I was at a glider field and this guy had this beautiful carbon fiber glider up. Thing was bright green, three meter wingspan, stood out for miles. The pilot was really experienced too, he'd been flying for thirty years or something. Then, all of a sudden, some idiot turned on his radio without checking if his channel was active: spoiler, it was. The pilot starts screaming that he'd hit interference, but it was too late. All he could do was watch as it took a nose dive and buried itself into the dirt up to the wing roots.
Did the other idiot guy get "buried in the dirt" too!? :D
That's one advantage of the 2,4gHz radios, you can't be "shot down" by someone turning on their radio anymore
dude thats so sad
Mmmmm... I'm thinking these guys need to build less and practice flying more 🤪
Screw the flying. It’s the traffic pattern, approach and landing they should concentrate on.
If they cannot fly a RC plane, they will definitely crash a real one. Obviously.
Outstanding!
haha....thank you for the fun
Very bad operations...
3:49 Too slow. Ballooning
9:28 No rudder correction
10:52 Too much angle of attack, stall
11:12 And the elevators!?
I love watching these competitions. It's a learning experience and I'm very happy I'm not in one of these videos 🙂
It was a simple stall. He was trying to fly it way too slowly.
I reluctantly played this. There are many, 'Let's have a good laugh when this 'Toy' plane is transformed into a bag of balsa wood' videos. These clips were all sad, but quite dignified.
I concur..
a little suffering always "builds character". Or you could just build plastic kits, stuck on a shelf, safely!! LOL.
@@ronschlorff7089 410.. and that's no joke LOL
The boys across the pond say dot-dot-dot you're not crashing you're not flying....
Love that Tornado! And the Grumman F9F Cougers and Battle of Britten.
They are still making amateur mistakes. At least these are RC planes, not full scale.
@@h3sh926 Most of mistakes do seem very amateurish, makes you think.
@@EssentialRC Perfect answer! Also consider this: "No guts,... no Glory"!!
@@floatingchimney it seems to me that it's just a very difficult thing to do. Even with loads of experience, mistakes will happen when you're stood 200 yards away trying to land a lightweight model with pinpoint precision, by remote.
1- learn to fly
2- build extensive, fast and big planes
If you do 2 then 1 ... bad idea
One problem I see repeated over and over again is the lack of a good approach.
I guess we can't all be heroes.
The amount of pilot error in these crashes is astonishing. It's like they never learned the basics on a low wing trainer.
I know the heartbreak of spending hundreds of hours on an RC plane only to crash land. :(
This is literally just your average war thunder landing
3:54 German top secret landing technique caught on visual audio reel.
Sick stall. Blue Angel.
7:20 The way he flies the plane seems like he's a real pilot.
In a white top
We can count on the scale pilots to deliver on the crash video compilations.
that Dakota was something else
It is surely something else after that "landing"..
@@jonnekjonneksson you will note i said 'was'
@@TheDaverobinson I hope that will you also note that I was sarcastic.
@@jonnekjonneksson Awful lot of noting going on here. I noted it.
what plane is that? 4:05 Im thinking dc-3 but i could be wrong
Beautiful planes, but they need someone with some skills to fly them. SHEESH!!!
Agreed. wow terrible
These look so fun to fly
“War thunder landing compilation”
Good camera work, thanks for not being a putz
