If you're in the manual, the truth is with a clutch drop at 4000 rpm you can get 5.8. reap world driving 6.5. 7.2 is way off. where did you get that number?
This is the first time i've seen this man's review. I didn't see the comments here first, just straight to the video, and i can tell you, this man review is FANTASTIC, i dont know the reason why, but i just love they way he did it...
+Mustang GTyq Thanks so much for your kind words. Glad you enjoy our work!!! Hope you check out our other videos as well (over 150 to choose from) and subscribe..:) Steve
Just got a 2006 mk 3 mx5. Couldnt be happier. My last car was a jag xk8. Didnt think anything less than an Aston would work for me boy was I wrong. Not only was I wrong-I am in love!! The key is, whatever model mazda you get-get a really good one and you'll b smiling.
I literally went to a dealership to test drive the ND2 Miata in a manual after driving the automatic and thought that it was really slow and laggy, and I did not know how to drive a manual. I just know the concept of it. I looked like a complete noob, staying in 2nd gear almost the entire time and I was really jerky, but I did not stall. I ended up ordering one, since I wanted an RF and not a soft top that the dealership had. It's been about a month now and I'm pretty comfortable driving this car now. Practically taught myself how to drive stick shift in this car. It's very easy to learn in, no joke. You hear it from other people saying that it's an easy manual to learn in, but those guys have been driving a manual car before and all they had to do was adjust to it. I'm someone that did not know how to drive a manual and I didn't stall at all my first time driving it and felt pretty comfortable in it after about a week of driving. Definitely go for a manual if you can, it's so much better than the automatic.
Thank you for this review. You should do a full review on the "Sport" (or base) model with exterior and interior standard and option equipments. So far I only see the Club and GT being review on UA-cam.
I have seen maybe 30 YT vids on this car. This is by far the best review. This guy informative and great humor. Autogefuhl next. May have to buy it from Rosenthal!
Love the new, updated version. I've driven the original version and the 2005 version and while both are very fun vehicles, they fell some-what short of the Honda S2000. I think with this version, Mazda may have done it. Where can I get a pair of those glasses?
Side brake lever is located at the right side of center console and it's a standard for right-side steering wheel cars. I wonder if it's convenient for left-side steering wheel cars sold in the US.
+serbetli100 Sitting in one myself, I liked the arm reach for the parking brake. If it sat right next to me, I would basically be resting my arm on it 24/7.
Christopher Miller If they sell more cars in the right-hand traffic countries, they should change it. I think there are more people in the right-hand traffic countries. The left-hand traffic countries besides Japan are only UK, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, India, the market is far smaller than the right-hand traffic countries.
+ZAIN ABBAS We shoot in a variety of locations around the Washington Metropolitian area. It partly depends on which dealership we're borrowing the car from and that store's particular location. Most of this was filmed on the George Washington Memorial Highway right across the river from Washington D.C. (hence the shot of the Washington Memorial in the background). It's a great scenic drive to be sure. Thanks for watching our videos..:) Steve
Nice video!! I've been following the news on this car and I'll definitely get it since it's finally available in my country. By the way, Van Halen should contact you! You would be the perfect David Lee Roth substitute :D Bye, have a good day!
+JE V Sorry it takes so long...sometimes. But we do our best! Just keep in mind that this isn't my full time job... But just so you know, I was working on another video yesterday and should have the filming completed early next week and then on to editing. Thanks for your patience..:) Steve
+srk7555 I enjoy and appreciate your videos kind sir, even for vehicles I'm not interested in. You did help my decision in purchasing my 2012 VW MK6 Gti.
+danizr1 Hey...Hey...Hey... It was only two months...not six... Sorry it took so long. We try to post a new video each month...but other projects sometimes get in the way. At least you have Two Videos for the price of One with this Miata review! Thanks for watching and thanks so much for your patience..:) Steve
My BMW 335i is completely paid off and it's worth $34,000. I would gladly trade it in for a fully loaded Miata GT. That's how much I love this car. I test drove it for shits& giggles about 4 months ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.
+Tony The Tiger Thanks for watching our video! I'm actually the Training Director for the Rosenthal Automotive Organization. I do the videos "in my spare time" for our UA-cam Channel. I hope you subscribe..:) Steve
Oooos .... make that Uk offering a 1.5l and 2.0l offering? Go figure. A 2.0l turbo would provide a big increase in usable torque; coupled to the 6sp manual could be a blast. And for cheap money, well not stupid Boxster or BMW money. . . . .
This car is almost spot on but literally every driver has complained about a little too much body roll and for light weight car made for the twisties that is unacceptable.
+Vineet Beniwal My 3rd gen has a little roll, but it also rides very comfortably without compromising it's awesome handling. It's very neutral in the corners. You can push it beyond the limits of grip predictably and confidently. My old 2nd gen. had a suspension upgrade and cornered flatter, but the ride was a bit stiff for a daily driver.
McPherson struts?! No, that front suspension is a beautiful aluminum upper and lower A-arm setup, even the uprights are aluminum. Get rid of or find a way to fold down the TV on the dash, it is ugly and distracting. The position of the controller knob for it on the console needs to be rethought, many complaints that it get hit during shifting, not a problem on right hand drive cars.
+Grace JD YAAAS! I was thinking the same thing! Even has the same M. Douglas voice! I was waiting for Sharon Stone or a boiled pet rabbit to come out of that boot!
+hultii Maybe in a Miata which has never been a fast car, but get a new Abarth 124 spider coming out, tune it to 280 HP and an auto is all you need. Plus the newer autos can shift quicker than most people can in a manual. If you live in an area with a lot of stop and go, auto is way nicer. Manuals are for shitty tin can cars, look at the high end super cars, they are all come with autos.
Does it matter? The car is fun and balanced, although the 2.0 is not as well balanced as the 1.5 which was what the car originally was designed for . I've driven both and the 2.0 is a tad heavy on the front but due to the USA preference for more power the 2.0 was added and now they have done the same engine mods as the 1.5 had so it matches it at 7500rpm and has increased compression ratio. Personally if i wanted more power i'd fit the BBR chipset that makes the 1.5 output comparable to the 2.0 but in a lump thats 90lbs lighter.
Man...0-60 in 5.8 seconds is really faster than I expected. And as always, smooth as a baby's ass...always a pleasure to watch these.
+thedon008 Because 5.8 isn't remotely true. I really wanted this car, but the real number is always around 7.2 which is a deal breaker for me. :(
5.8 thats super unrealistic, dont forget is has 155HP even it weight less... 155 thats the number u see in a 1980s car
+Jozo Malacky ok that's a huge difference, when I heard 5.8 I was impressed, not now
If you're in the manual, the truth is with a clutch drop at 4000 rpm you can get 5.8. reap world driving 6.5. 7.2 is way off. where did you get that number?
This guy could go to colombia and sell cocaine. sell water to a fish and sand to a camel...:0
+Ivan Giraldo Bro I couldn't agree more lol
+Todd Ramos hahaha right bro is amazing
No car under $50k looks nearly as good as this.
This is the first time i've seen this man's review. I didn't see the comments here first, just straight to the video, and i can tell you, this man review is FANTASTIC, i dont know the reason why, but i just love they way he did it...

He's such a baller, he sold the car while driving it!
Just got a 2006 mk 3 mx5. Couldnt be happier. My last car was a jag xk8. Didnt think anything less than an Aston would work for me boy was I wrong. Not only was I wrong-I am in love!! The key is, whatever model mazda you get-get a really good one and you'll b smiling.
this guy is the reason i watch these vids, cool af

Michael Douglas's brother killing it in the sales!

+Nismo GTR Should definitely apply for the new Top Gear.

+configtr Yes he's hilarious :)

Damn, I didn't know Michael Douglass is into cars!
Drummer Man omfg hahahahaa
What color is that? Looks beautiful.
Meteor Grey (at a guess)
+mrdogfight1 grey (at a guess)
Great video Steve! I love the new MX-5. Sports convertible roadsters are my favorite.
nice mazda polo... and the interior looks like a bmw Z4 and that's a compliment. Nice video as always
What's the need of the ugly antenna when there's already a sharkfin antenna on the boot lid?
+boy638 the sharkfish one is for the GPS.
oh is it not possible to integrate both into the sharkfin?
I considered unscrewing it and keeping it in the boot lol
boy638 sharkfin has limitations
You look so happy with that A/T
Imagine what would M/T do...
+tokekkk M/T makes you more happier.
Kian Arven Valencia except when youre in rolling traffic
Love the new, updated version. I've driven the original version and the 2005 version and while both are very fun vehicles, they fell some-what short of the Honda S2000. I think with this version, Mazda may have done it.
Where can I get a pair of those glasses?
The suspension is not MacPherson strut up front. It's double wishbone.
No PRHT in 2006 Steve, it was introduced in 2007 I believe.
Where's your review of the Porsche GT4???
Awesome little car. ......and a fun review :-)
The PRHT didn't came out until the 2007 model.
I see he is driving one without big screen. How can I avoid getting that big LCD screen?
Luv the metallic grey exterior with light tan leather interior .... Does the Mazda Uk MX-5 offer a 2.0l motor?
Civic '16 10th gen please when it comes out! Would be nice to compare to Mazda 3
I recommend putting the top back up when you are using the Air-conditioning. Otherwise you get global cooling.

Rosenthal Steve K already subscribed! And you’re most welcome! Keep up the great job!
Where do you shoot all your videos? its a beautiful place.
+ZAIN ABBAS We shoot in a variety of locations around the Washington Metropolitian area. It partly depends on which dealership we're borrowing the car from and that store's particular location. Mazda needs to make a more elegant emblem for the Miata.
Nice video!! I've been following the news on this car and I'll definitely get it since it's finally available in my country. By the way, Van Halen should contact you! You would be the perfect David Lee Roth substitute :D Bye, have a good day!
+stonerdemon I love Van Halen! Thanks for watching our video..:) Steve
This guy's humour is cold & dry... brrrrr... I LOVE IT!!!!
Love the reviews. Wish I don't have to wait a full year to watch a new one. I'm exaggerating but you get the point.
+JE V Sorry it takes so long...sometimes. But we do our best! Just keep in mind that this isn't my full time job... But just so you know, I was working on another video yesterday and should have the filming completed early next week and then on to editing. Thanks for your patience..:) Steve

+JE V Congratulations on your new ride! Glad I could help..:) Steve
this car looks incredible, small, lightweight, great handling and a good price...i still prefer the new porsche boxter, but thats another category....
Love this guy! Esp when im on 2 shots of 4 diffrent Rums/Liquer... Pure Entertainment! just like the Mazda MX-5... ;)
This guy is awesome, too bad you have to wait 6 month to watch a new video
+danizr1 Hey...Hey...Hey... It was only two months...not six... Sorry it took so long. We try to post a new video each month...but other projects sometimes get in the way. Agreed
+blitz Oh yeah.... Thanks! I hear that allllll the time..:) Steve
what's your daily driver? Mr. Steve, let's see a review on that;)
Do they still make 4-lug aftermarket rims? Haven't seen these wheels in years.
yeah from 1980
+bmwmsport11Amount of lugs depends on the weight of the vehicle.
+A Yates 4 lugs looks like a FIAT's rims and only 155 bhp is a deal breaker for me. Dam, Mazda, do the job right!
Awesome Video. Can't wait to have one. Thanks Man for sharing.
wow ur alive ~ finally
My BMW 335i is completely paid off and it's worth $34,000. I would gladly trade it in for a fully loaded Miata GT. That's how much I love this car. I test drove it for shits& giggles about 4 months ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.
Andrew Gems It's hard to find a great handling American car though!
can u also review mx5 RF?
thanks
How did you get Deadmau5 to approve his music on your video?
bodhifyer deadmau5 is a car enthusiast so maybe that's how
Lol when I see this car I always confuse it with the BMW Z4. They look so similar. Especially side view.
Man I'd love to buy the car, but by the time I'm able too there will probably be a new design so gotta get hyped for that
that knock on the hood... and that hot afternoon sun doesnt help either lol...
If you're an ND owner and looking for a nicer sounding exhaust, check out my Goodwin Racing Roadster Sport muffler vids!
The presenter is really cool. Is he a salesperson or an actual presenter paid by Rosenthal Mazda to do the video?
+Tony The Tiger Thanks for watching our video! I'm actually the Training Director for the Rosenthal Automotive Organization. I do the videos "in my spare time" for our UA-cam Channel. I hope you subscribe..:) Steve
Keep em comming!!
he just sold me the car. the only problem is the size of the trunk. I need a sports car to stuff at least 2-3 bodies. I work in a morgue.
devil worship Small trailer. Obvs. Please don't steal my soul.
Chop the bodies off 👀
breaking the legs should make it easier
Really your video Cant wait too view your next car video.
Steve... Your icebreaker was lit!!! :D It really does look amazing from every corner, but at least you looked for the sake of the naysayers :D
Favorite reviewer ever!
Fantastic review, this is my dream car!! :) Thank you for making this video
You're very welcome! It is an amazing ride... I hope all of your dreams come true someday..:) Steve
Should I buy this or an s2000?
Michael Nye this. Modern goodies , new technologies
This. More fun!
This was awesome!
Double wishbone front, not Mcpherson..
Nice car, but the grille is a little odd. Looks like it is wearing a mouthguard.
Licensing Deadmau5 for your video. Respect
I would buy a six speed manual in a heart beat
Oooos .... make that Uk offering a 1.5l and 2.0l offering? Go figure. A 2.0l turbo would provide a big increase in usable torque; coupled to the 6sp manual could be a blast. And for cheap money, well not stupid Boxster or BMW money. . . . .
Steve we want more reviews of car.
I bet this guy's wife loves him. What a funny dude!
I know. I want to be his friend so bad
Wait.... WHAT?! An automatic transmission???
+000Matthew000 I FORGIVE YOU STEVE!!!
I love this man!!!!!!
Awesome Car- Awesome Video!!!!
great car, and this dude is fly af :D
This car is almost spot on but literally every driver has complained about a little too much body roll and for light weight car made for the twisties that is unacceptable.

Luv that color!
Thats not a POP up screen! I wish it was though:(
I want to shake this guy's hand.
McPherson struts?! No, that front suspension is a beautiful aluminum upper and lower A-arm setup, even the uprights are aluminum.

Well presented !
would make this my daily driver w/ a hardtop in a second if i could, sooo damn hot
No, no, no , nooooo. This the automatic version 👎🏻
This guy looks like Michael Douglas.
+Grace JD YAAAS! I was thinking the same thing! Even has the same M. Douglas voice! I was waiting for Sharon Stone or a boiled pet rabbit to come out of that boot!
That deadmau5 music tho!!
Great video
And funny !!!
color space gray so sick
Good lord those are some roomy slacks! I'd like to see you in a straight leg, no pleats style.
Somebody forgot his sunscreen
Test drove it for half an hr, I got burnt too 😁
If this car would've had 200bhp as it is right now!
I like this guy. He's funny
You look like Mr. Wonderful, Paul Orndorf!
Miata and automatic transmissions don't go together.
Australia has sold 16,000 in 25 years, Embarrassing to say the least but what do you expect when they sold for $50,000 plus on roads.
auto miata .. that is an epic fail !!
+hultii But he apologized for that. Is there no forgiveness?!
+NON-ILLEGAL_Immigrant Yes, but that's still not a Miata douchface.
Brock Landers But it basically IS, built on the SAME assembly line, fuckface!!
Never mind...
This guy could make his own channel where he just talks up all kinds of shit and everyone would love it.
steve u kick about as much ass as this mx5, keep on being the man, ps the new civic unveil was godawful on so many levels
"There's only one thing missing in this Miata- someone to share the fun with." Pick me pick me!!!
+Amanda B You're exactly who I had in mind when I was filming the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you subscribe..:) Steve
This guy is hilarious! The head hitting the hood from panic. Hahaha
I bet this guy has a mean Jack Nicholson impression!
I suspect his dad humor is on lock
Why would a 2.0 engine only produced less than 180hp ?
Does it matter? The car is fun and balanced, although the 2.0 is not as well balanced as the 1.5 which was what the car originally was designed for .
I've driven both and the 2.0 is a tad heavy on the front but due to the USA preference for more power the 2.0 was added and now they have done the same engine mods as the 1.5 had so it matches it at 7500rpm and has increased compression ratio.
Personally if i wanted more power i'd fit the BBR chipset that makes the 1.5 output comparable to the 2.0 but in a lump thats 90lbs lighter.
