Had mine for 1000 miles (1.5 UK icon edition ) the box selector took 600 miles to bed in as it did to burnish up the mains, now it's the prefect drivers extension. I test drove the 2.0 litre but apart from a tad more grunt I definitely noticed the heavier front end when diving into our UK tight lanes. Overall IMHO the MX5 is one of the best drivers cars around, yes there are plenty of faster cars but it's all unusable without busting the speed limit to get any pleasure out of them and that's the problem. The MX is incredible fun at any speed
Just recently discovered your channel through fan boying over this lovely car. I have to say I was really impressed with the production quality which I feel rivals shows with much bigger budgets. In terms of improvement I think if the video quality of the in-car camera, say a better camera which has better dynamic range and maybe a hint of colour correction will make the image really pop out. Also consider a better mounting solution to eliminate a few vibrations of the footage too. Just these two improvements would make your video very professional. Presentation was top notch which really conveyed the driver's interaction and emotions with the car! Subscribed!
+Inside Lane I have just had the pleasure of test driving a 2.0 Sport Nav vs a 1.5 SE-L. The 2.0 noticeably more torquey and pull at lower speeds - but rougher and more raucous engine note and no pleasure to rev to the red line (6500 ish). Bilstein Suspension on 17" wheels - okay but you sacrifice some steering feel and quite a jiggly ride on B roads.1.5 smoother revving and a pleasure to take to the red line at 7250, meaning 3rd gear is good from 30-80. Much better suspension set up and ride on its 16" wheels - and more fun when you disengage the traction control. Better fuel consumption too etc.Interior much nicer in Sport Spec, which you can choose for the 1.5 too without having to have the Bilstein set up. So my choice is a 1.5 Sport Nav please! Reminds me of a 67 Elan S4 that I was lucky enough to have owned. Well done Mazda.
Mike Smith great-car but a tin top not the same type of car and definitely not a sports cars and if performance is the criteria Aerial Atom is the car to go for
Looks great, good formula, fair price. But we can't escape that in a few years it will be common, depreciate fast, gain weight and won't be as good as certain cars I can think of

Good Review. Did you use a helicopter for the tracking shots?
+Daz Ar Thank you. Haha! I wish we could afford a helicopter. It was done using a drone.
Hi, great video, any news on the 2.0 review.
+Paul Jenkins The 2.0 arrives on Friday so expect its review to be out the following week. It will also be going head-to-head with the new Mini JCW.
Where was this shot? looks beautiful.
+Jianhua Li Scotland.
Amazing where was that filmed if you don't mind me asking.
All this car needs is a firm suspension and a better motor!
the RHD and the LHD versions of this car both have the E-brake on the same side, soo in the RHD version it might bother you a bit
