Maybe my favorite vid of yours ever Phil. Loved it. Great riding. Was a pleasure to watch this for a whole 30 min. Also i really dig your new bike. The blue and yellow looks so good together!
Hey Phil, what is the oldest person you've seen riding double black diamond trails? Im just starting mtb riding at 39 and want to hit Whistler or Queenstown some day
He’s shouting “this is good!” and I’m thinking “that tree would have killed me, those rocks would have killed me... do these guys even touch the ground?” 😂
As an parent I realy love how you connect with your younger fans! You realy make their day by just stop and do a fistbump, have a quick chat or a short ride. You truly are a capeless hero!
Well there is skill and then there’s those that do red bull crazy shit no thanks lol I rather stick to riding a enjuro down a trail bit more power and speed yet more fun because you got a more capable bike also can do some down hill stuff aswel oviusly but for crazy riders extreme DH with a triple fork shock is needed trail bikes are more restrictive yet a enjuro is more capable and can do trail very well and enjuro very well down hill is kinda tricky because to trust the frame for extreme hard landings
Might be the best Whistler video I’ve seen. Unique line choices, crazy gnar at high speeds, riding blind, and some follow cam footage of some sick riders.
that line at 10:44 on A-line, where you basically cut the corner by making it as straight as possible, for some reason I have never thought of that! I'll try that out next time I'm there. And who did those kids see at 21:50?! haha
Gotta say Phil, you're a massive inspiration. I've really enjoyed watching all the videos especially ones like this and your trips to Highland. Jibbing and sending everything, having the most fun out of anyone. Mainly wanted to say how much I appreciate all you're doing and your generosity to the community. Keep doing your thing and getting us all stoked on MTBing.
I'm glad we got to catch up even if it was super super brief. I felt like a dog with like 20 toys to choose from during that trip. So much to do and get distracted by but not enough time.
Phil, you are truly one of the most inspirational riders on the planet! It's amazing to watch you ride a bike with so much skill, confidence, and speed. It's incredible how fast and controlled you can hit trails blind with seemingly reckless abandon, while having complete trust in your equipment. You should make a video explaining how to train the mental skills that allow someone like you to ride at a level that is beyond what most are capable of and think is possible, or put more generally, how to build the confidence to push your bike to the absolute limit of grip and control. Thanks for all the great content!
As a skiier from MA, I was at Whistler for mtb opening weekend, but to SKI their final week! After discovering how many mountain bikers traveled to this mountain all i've been watching is footage shot while I was visiting... like this!!
This is some really great content, Phil!!! With the long video, it's like a TV show, and it's in Whistler!! What more could I ask for? Keep it up, you shred hard!!!!💪👏
Hey, excellent sportsmanship Phil. My ten year old (also happens to be a nonverbal, autistic, wonderful guy) got hooked on mountain biking videos, while I'm quite the chicken and wouldn't normally watch I just want to say you seem like a really great guy and I love the example of humanity you are constantly putting out here. Thank you!
I used to think that you were a good rider, but after you started posting a lot more I realized that you are a super good rider that can compete where the pros.
Pretty solid rides Phil. Also, I think it’s pretty cool you take time out to meet the kids out there. That makes all the difference. They are the next UA-camr generation.
I always knew you had skills, but hearing a fellow UA-camr recently saying you're the best he's ridden with and then watching you on trails I'm familiar with, it became all the more apparent. Mad skilz!
Great video! The occasional nervous laughter tells us when even you think it's sketchy. I also appreciate your willingness to interact with your fans. Keep it up.
That rock gap you did for Pinkbike is gigantic and super sketchy, none of those angles do it justice! I watched that video thinking "Yeah, that was a cool gap" but then I saw it in person yesterday... you sir are an absolute beast!
I didn’t check the video length when I started watching this video. I was then shocked to see how long it was when I finished it all the way through. It was that entertaining! I’m glad you’re back Phil! Keep it up! This was so good it didn’t feel long at all!
Phil, I absolutely love your videos. Easily the best channel. I love how your videos are so long yet full of gold. It's not like your videos are just long for the sake of being long.
Best Whistler opening weekend video of the year by far. Loved every second of it. You really captured all the fun you had with your creative style of riding.
That was Siiick ! You got some mad skillz Phil, I've ridden those trails hundreds of times and you're showing me new lines and gaps on them on your first run, ridiculous ! Peace :)
Have you seen THESE gap in 1:40???? And it’s really amazing the way Phill floats over the roots!!!! You have the rare ability to find the hardest lines then destroy them!!! 😂😂😂😂 You’re a legend bro!!!!!
Man that was a real Sick Ride at Whistler. My heart was pumping at so many points. Jesus Phil 🤪 what Crazy skills man 🤙 Would love to enjoy a new one. Those videos are the best. Ride on and thanks for the awesome clip 🎥 🤩
Easily, by far, the best Whistler video I've seen! I usually loathe this couple of weeks really annoying with almost every youtuber posting their "opening day" vids ... same old stuff from everyone so I usually watch a minute if that and move on ... but this one ... I watched it ALL!! Awesome job. Plus you have to be one of the most naturally skilled rider out there. Bonkers!
A DH bike is more forgiving than an enduro (I know, I have both) especially on the more gnarly trails. Mistakes I make on my enduro bike are less forgiving and more likely to cause a crash, but I'm just an crappy rider. You, on the other hand are one of the best riders I've had the pleasure to watch. I'm pretty certain you can send it down on a low end hardtail or 130mm travel trail bike. Heck, you were pretty impressive with that Huffy you grabbed from Walmart! Skill makes up for a lot of shortcomings in hardware, and you have plenty of skill. That, and today's enduro bikes are far more capable of handling a bike park than those of a few years ago. Always enjoy your videos!
Although this video is 30 minutes long it was really nice and relaxing to watch just casually riding on Whistler, u are really good, keep up the good work
Dang! 31 minute video!! Its an early bday present for me! Amazing riding as always. Just like every other video of yours I'm always in awe of your line choices. Keep up the good work buddy
DUDE I had to watch that gap over the wooden features at 1:39 like 5 times because it was blowing my mind! So SICK! You earned yourself a new subscriber from that alone! (Also I enjoy your videos in general)
You are such a skilled rider dude! I always knew you were good but in the videos I have seen from this years trip to the pnw I have an all new respect for you! You are so freaking rad it’s ridiculous! You owned the bike park and you seem to have balls of steel! Props to you dude! So stoked to see your upcoming videos! Keep up the good content.
Great video, and the length was great. In fact, you should have added more footage of you just hanging out with the great riders you rode with. I'd love to see you see you grabbing a beer with the guys at the end of the day.

Hey Phil, what is the oldest person you've seen riding double black diamond trails? Im just starting mtb riding at 39 and want to hit Whistler or Queenstown some day

No they don't
The confidence with which phil rides... It's a beautiful thing.

How can you not like Phil? Super talented rider and he seems so genuine and generous with his knowledge. His videos are also so family friendly haha
-Phil hits a huge gap: “Wow that was sketchy!”
-Me looks at a 5ft drop: “maybe next year” 😂
Might be the best Whistler video I’ve seen. Unique line choices, crazy gnar at high speeds, riding blind, and some follow cam footage of some sick riders.
