    I'm far from being a newbie. I've owned motorcycles since 1967 and just sold the last Harley I will ever own. I paid $37000 for it and it broke down four times within the first year.I sold it for $28000 and glad to rid of it.
    I now want a Vulcan S because I want a parallel twin, no more chug chug chug of a V-Twin for me. Believe it or not, I like the styling of the Vulcan S.
    Thanks for this video. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

    One of the best reviews for the Vulcan s. Why? Because of the kind of riding situations you put the motorcycle through. Lane splitting, go arounds, curvy roads…but my favorite was your gas station presentation. Very few review videos show riders taking the bike through slow maneuvers. I think it’s one of the most important things to show especially for motorcycles known to be a “great first bike to own”. Lots of people will have to take their exams on those bikes so it’s important to know if the bike has the turning capacity to maneuver through the slow ride obstacles. Especially bikes with longer wheelbases like the Vulcan S. Now I know you should be able to take any bike through the slow maneuvers but for a beginner? Heh. No. Almost anytime I go for a group ride I hear a story of a lady who bought an Indian scout or some sort of Harley as her first bike and tipped it going 0-5mph. You’re a great rider btw..
    oh yeah and thumbs up to the guy who recommended the Corban seat.. I can’t believe the seat is so expensive now. They used to be $300 in 2015 I heard. I had a 2017 ducati scrambler and bought a seat from the same company for $250 I think. The I got the 2021 Vulcan s and was like yeah this does need a seat.. I was so pissed off at the price of that seat but there was no other seats offered in the market? The entrepreneur in me is screaming to open an aftermarket seat business.

      Thank you and i'm glad you enjoyed my review. It is a great bike to have as a beginner to learn on and is still a good choice as a 2nd bike for more more experienced riders to have a good time on too.

    I picked up a used 2018 ABS Cafe version a couple of months ago. I'm a newer rider so I don't make use of the entire throttle range but above 4000 RPM the engine really wakes up and moves if you need it. I might pick up another bike in a few years but I do not see myself trading in my Vulcan S. It really does seem to be a jack of all trades bike which is nice to have.

    UK owner here. You can *definitely* scrape the pegs, my right peg is wearing down from all the roundabouts we have here.
    What makes the Vulcan so great for beginners is this: if you keep the revs low it is a highly controllable, civilised, predictable ride. However if you want excitement you can rev it right up - this isn't a bike you can "master" and get bored with quickly (such as with a Honda Rebel 300), it will take time to "grow out of it".
    I have no plans to change for the foreseeable future - unless they do an update or a better trim level in the future, in which case I'll be first in line.

      Hey I've just got my A license and was considering the Vulcan S - have you had any experience with snow/wet/cold and how does it fair? Also wondering how it's like with a passenger - I think this bike is amazing as a beginner cruiser which has some bulk to it's look compared to the others (Rebel 500)

    • @_Meriwether
      @_Meriwether 2 роки тому +2

      @@josephjoestar995 It handles the wet just fine, I haven't had it out in the snow.
      It's pretty ok with a smaller pillion passenger, but I wouldn't take anyone bulky - there's just too little rear suspension travel. It's better than the Rebel for a passenger though, for sure.
      Hope this helps! It's an absolute gem.

Also installed brown leather Viking saddle bags on OEM saddlebag mounts. This is a great ride will probably put last its sixty-seven year old rider. 😅

    Because of this video I decided to finally try out one from a buddy. I've shrugged aside this bike since, yeah like you said it has sort of like an identity crisis 😋so anyway, this baby is a hoot to ride! I actually enjoyed the ride, the torque was punchy which complements its lightweight so you do less feet-down moves while in traffic. I don't like its 2 cylinder thump, maybe it's because I used to own the current model CB650 with its glorious sounding inline 4. It is worth looking into and this will definitely be dirt cheap to maintain. It reminds me much of the Kawasaki Eliminator from the late 90's.
