  • P1.8 Million ($35,200) Container House Tour In The Philippines.
    I took a tour of a P1.8 Million ($35,200) Container house in the Philippines. Made from four 40 foot containers. It gives people considering such a build an idea of what is possible and expected costs.

    That’s very cool. I like the dents it gives it the authentic container vibe

    i am a truck driver in the usa & i deliver containers both new and used. i would have used insulated containers if at all possible. they are around double the cost however they are already very well insulated & the inside walls/ceiling are made of stainless steel. just cut the openings for the doors & windows then paint inside & out.

    Nice design! However, I think it's a wrong move not insulating the container. It gets really hot here in PH. I bet it feels like an oven during the summer albeit the aircon running at full capacity.

    I really like that they are dented. Shows that they have history. Some of them have been around the world. Gives a nice vibe to it. Thanks for the video, was really interesting!

    Metal walls with no insulation and windows in direct sunlight looks like it will get very very hot.

      @@caparn100 it looks nice , but they really are not cost effective . You spend more and get less living space . They are 8 feet wide . Over 2 thousand dollars plus shipping .
      I have welded on the walls they are thin . It's not for me . It's not cheap or better .

    • @caparn100
      @caparn100 4 роки тому +3

      @@boracay12 Yes, if you wanted to make it livable you would have to at least insulate it with rock-wool then batten some plasterboard over the rock-wool.
      Also, it really needs the addition of a sloping roof with a large overhang to prevent sunlight from coming into direct contact with the windows and walls.

    • @marie61413
      @marie61413 3 роки тому

      The electricity bills are expensive. If those containers are well insulated you only need a cooling system when it is so hot. The best thing for that is to put another roof and all windows for ventilation. The insulation should be both outside and inside. Northwest sun is very hot so the glass windows should be facing east. Afternoon sun is horrible especially in tropical climate.

    Which would also fix the "foreigners only can own the house, not the land" issue.. If the asawa didnt love you and had malicious plans for the future, to kick you out once you build her a nice place on her land to live - you can just pick up your house and leave :D

    Aesthetically pleasing. I've also explored this option and found flat pack container systems seems like a better option than buying container vans. The flat packs are new, comes with insulation and windows & door. Standard 20 ft size is still pricey though at 180K or 160K if you live in Davao. So now I'm exploring on panel systems for CHB-building alternative.

    wrong move...... no insulation means living inside the oven and it will consume a lot of energy for your AC to cool down ( where's the saving for the electric bill? ) plus the moisture will be a big problem...... my own opinion the one who design this is not familiar with container home design......

    Nice place for the price. There are suitable, spray-on insulation options available with decent R-values for anyone that cannot look past the no-insulation issue. Personally, I have always felt that shipping container homes in the Philippines is a good idea for many reasons, but I would always consider doing a partially-buried or partially-underground design for climate control purposes. Do you know the company who developed this? Are they currently building more? Thanks.

I saw a brand new cemented 2 story house 4 BR, 2 Bath Rooms, LR, DR, Kitchen, a porch and a nice balcony for 950K. Very sturdy will last for 100 years. Watch those OFW Houses there are plenty to choose from and you’ll save 50% from this one.
