Truck frames are heat treated for necessary strength so you never weld to them because it can destroy the heat treatment. Welding to the flanges of the beam is OK but you should only drill into the web of the beam.

Good video. I would still highly recommend installing the gravitational pin of the carrier hook immediately. Handling without it is very dangerous-I have been in the situation a few times that the fuse was there, but it got stuck and the eye left the hook while braking.During the subsequent removal of the container there was only a big bang and the container was lying behind the car.. In addition, I worked for several years in a company producing exhausts and the correct process of welding the flex element involves even a perfect covering of the fine braid. The fine balls bouncing when welding can disrupt/overcook these fibers.Otherwise, fingers crossed-I have a similar technique in the veteran category :-) - Iveco Eurocargo 1997 hook carrier and tractor with Zetor 1979 front loader -greetings from the Czech Republic..

... I expected him BUILDING an exaust (as mentioned in title) - now it's just an installation with some mods ... interesting though ...

That flex hose is garbage, it is going to swell on the inside and choke your engine.
