That's the nature of living in remote places. if and when something happens, you need to have the equipment to fix it yourself because there are no guarantee that someone else will be able to help you. If a small flooding occur at an airport in a city of 400 000 , they will just call _a_ "water-removal-company" downtown and have them fix it. They don't need to have the equipment themself.

The airport can afford all of this equipment because they only have one employee . BTW, who is up in the tower right now monitoring the airspace! Another great video! :)

It's a non-controlled airport, with AFIS only. This is very normal in urban parts of Scandinavia and the Nordic countries where you need a "manned" airport to be able to use for commercial flights - but don't want to pay for ATC with only 1 or 2 flights per day at max. So all clearences comes from the radar sector above the airport that the person in "the tower" relays to aircrafts and at the same time provides traffic information - hence you might have noticed the last video when Mattias said "runway free" because he cannot clear an aircraft to land, he can only relay the information

@@mews_seWhat is particularly peculiar to me is that an uncontrolled aiport still has an ILS! The airport only has like 8000 passengers. Must be some gov/military sponsored thing..

@@rkan2 The government policy is that even municipalities with very low population densities can't have _too_ terrible communications because then they just have no fighting chance. So, yeah, there are some airports with very low traffic but a surprising amount of infrastructure. It doesn't really cost all that much to do but it makes remote parts of the country less isolated.
Some of those airports are former military airfields from the Cold War era, but this particular one isn't; it opened in 1999 when the Swedish air force was busy trying to get rid of everything it could.

That's an incredible, unintentionally awesome shot. You can see the water turn from murky brown to clear...after the water blew the camera around a bit.

Your channel popped into my feed earlier today, and I have tell you I am so glad it did. What an absolutely cool job you have! If I were a young man again, I would be all over that action lol. You get to be around planes, clear them for ARR/DEP, Weather stuff, work on all sorts of cool things. You get to play with all kinds of cool trucks etc. even a freaking Fire Truck!! I mean it just doesn't get any better. Or does it? lol. AND you get to be outdoors in a very beautiful setting! I have subbed and look forward to watching all your older content as well as the new. be well and take care. Matt, Murphy NC, USA

Another absolutely brilliant video. I reckon you run that entire airport. Even your van is parked outside on google Street view.
You can't beat the almighty Hägglunds Bv 206, extremely capable with a high angle of climb and descent and great swimmer.
I'm not a fan of that fabric fire hose, it splits so easily. I much prefer our British Angus Duraline
