- During one of our little dirt road ventures we came across this little gem of a camping area. BLM 14 day camping not far from Yuma. In fact it's only a few miles from Fortuna Pond.
The turn off HYW 95 is at gps coordinates N32.74007 - W114.42625 then just follow the road back as shown on the video.
We are Jeff and Margie, a retired couple traveling the US in our 33 ft. class C Minnie Winnie that we call April. We are enjoying sharing our adventures with family and friends via UA-cam. Thank you for joining us on our travels and adventures.

We were married in Yuma when Jarhead was stationed there. Great memories!
Thanks for stopping in
Very cool find. You and Jeff always find the neatest out of the way places. Y'all stay safe out there.
thanks Billy
You guys find all the good spots.. Secret camping area, sweet.
Yes we do try :)
So few places to go anymore for solitude but this is a great spot close to Yuma! Thx for sharing!
Debra I agree. Thanks for stopping in and watching. Margie
@@RVAshsinApril truly my pleasure! HugZ and KOKO dear one. Safe travels! 🥰
That was a good find . It looks like a very popular place for boondockers. Pretty cool👍
Thanks 👍
Great info. I love that VFW spot because of how close it is to Yuma. I’ll have to check this one out when I’m back that way. Thanks. 👍🏻
your welcome and thank you for stopping in and visiting our channel. ~Margie
Very nice find! We have to remember this when we are back there this winter. Thanks for sharing this nice place.Stay safe friends.👍❤️👏🥑🇺🇸
Thanks, you too!
That’s a cool new camp. I remember VFW. I seen that place also. Wished we’d tried other camping spots but we did not. Oh wow 14 day camping kind of tucked in that’s very impressiv.
Maybe you will be able to next time, thanks for stopping in
THANKS for the heads up!
Your welcome 👍
Thanks for the info Margie
I hope the info comes in handy for you :)
I think me and Karla drove thru there once when we were at Fortuna Pond. But darn i never pinned it. But it wasn't to hard to find.
once you know it's there it's easy :)
Looks like this boondocking without Utilities and hook ups!
Yes that is what it is. Thanks for stopping in
Thank you! I wish I would have known about that a couple of years ago. I was new to that area and couldn't find a decent place to park overnight.
You are so welcome! At least if you go back you'll know next time, thanks for watching.
Very cool.👍🏻❤️
thanks for stopping in
A good little find....l like your hair that length Margie 😊
Thanks Kat. The hair length is only because I haven't been to get it cut since last March. 🙁
nice
Thanks
Great find!
Thanks Dan, did you know it was there?
@@RVAshsinApril no I did not know about that place. Thanks for sharing.
Well look at that. What a nice tucked away spot.
it was fun to find a new spot that we hadn't heard of :)
Always fun “traveling along” with you. Finding all the cool stuff. Margie I can’t believe how long your hair is getting. You’ve got me wanting to try again. You’re almost back to the 70’s. Just do the middle part
lol Barb, I haven't gotten it cute since last March. I see a hair cut coming in the near future. BTW I do have a natural middle part😉😄😂
What's around the corner? Great find you two!! Well done. Great video. 🤗 ❤ 🌞
Thanks 👍
This looks like a great place to camp. I love that there's a bit of greenery there. And you still get mountain views.
I agree, a bit of greenery helps.
Good one M&J . Can't think of anything cute to say about that one ! LOL
there is always next time Craig lol
@@RVAshsinApril Amen !
What did that dog that you said to look at look like?
I'm sorry I don't remember, this video was done a year ago.
We keep finding places close to home LOL
close to home is good sometimes
Hi RV Ashs in April. That place looks VERY desolate. That no trespassing sign is foreboding. Wow you are brave but look what you found! By the way Nancy and I have a new feature in our Thursday Live Stream and you are involved. :)
Thanks for watching. and thanks for including us on Thursday 👍🙂
Where do you get water, and dump your tanks?
We didn't stay there long enough to have to worry about that. When we were in the Yuma area we camped mostly at the Imperial Dam LTVA. Which is great, there are dumpstations, water plus over at the boat landing nice hot showers for $1. You check around there are also RV Parks that you can dump at for a fee.
Good spot to re-up your 14 days in Quartzsite?
I'm not sure what your asking
@@RVAshsinApril Sorry, What I wanted to know was if I am in say Hi Jolly 14 day camp in Quartzsite and after the 14 days I must vacate for at least another 14 days before I can return and it must be 25 miles between the two camps. So is it 25 miles south of Quartzsite?
@@charlestait5303 it's close to 70 miles. On the plus side Yuma has great shopping opportunities, and the option of Fortuna Pond and Mittry Lake for free camping. If you don't want to go that far you could always go to Cibola National Wildlife Refuge which is in CA. about 50 miles from Quartzsite. Plus there is Palm Canyon between Quartzsite and Yuma, it is 27 miles
@@RVAshsinApril 70 miles is perfect! Thank you.
How far would you estimate this area is from the border to Los Algadonas mexico
We go over there for dental work
For the day
Thank you
My guess would be about 25 miles. There is dispersed camping on Sidewinder Road which would be closer if your going into Mexico. Or if you want to be really close you can park at the Quechan Casino for $10 a night.
@@RVAshsinApril thank you
It sounds so nice we will go there after Mexico
Thanks for tip on Casio camping will do a night there
How did you find it Margie? Was it on a map or something? It's a great spot!
Mona we were exploring a different way to get to Fortuna Pond that we had heard about and saw it from across the canal so we went in search of how to get to it and what type of property it was. 🙂
@@RVAshsinApril Cool
hi were is this spot in yuma beautiful love to camp there joe from mo
In the video, we drive right to it and show some landmarks to get you there.
We're is your spot??? 🏕
Sorry, I don't understand your question
Wish we had BLM land over here
We do enjoy it for sure
Another place for people to pile on top of each other in the "wilderness". There's too many rigs back there. Them talking about how many rigs can get back there is everything that is wrong with the camping community. They see nothing wrong with how close all those rigs are because they are used to living in apartments and neighborhoods. But it's not ok when there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of acres available.
We agree, they were pretty close together.
You need to take this video down! To many people will find it.
Ann did you know about this spot?
@@RVAshsinApril no but it look really nice we can't let it out!!! lol
