2011 Jeep Wrangler JK Engine Noise (Timing Chain)

This is what my motor currently sounds like. Sounds very much like a spun bearing or timing chain to me. The motor has 7,002 miles on it and has been babied. Never have even been close to the red line. First oil change was done at 2,000 miles, then at 5,000 miles for the second.

timing chains will stretch causing a slight tick. this by no means was severe, mine does this too. in fact most 3.8's do. i may do this sooner than later as it could cause other smaller issues in the future. thanks for the post btw

I just had to drop my JKU off for the timing chain. It gets ripped apart tomorrow.

hey man i know this is about 4 years late of a question but did you ever notice the sound more when the ac was on and driving? thats my situation, the noise is still there after i shut the ac off. 2011 wrangler also. thanks

Dealership is pushing it off as some other issue. Anyone have any experience with this that can help me out?

It was $1100 for the fix and the jeep has 175,000 kilometers on it . the noise started at 2000 km.

Just got her back no more noise it was the timing chain !!! Runs like new hope this helps !!

How much was the repair? You said the jeep at 175,000 miles on it when you took it in?

My jk did this at 2000 k now at 175000 and still running it's at dodge now and Thay say it the timing chan I get it back in two days I will let you know if that worked!
