    I've been working at a Bobcat dealership for over a year and i can confirm that there are a lot of knock off filters out there. And another thing I've noticed for air filter is that 50% of the time the knock off filters are installed backwards which is really bad idea

    Good video, got one of the blue air filters and it made my T590 keep throwing a clogged air filter code with the brand new filter. Also a crime that bobcat charges soooo much for their filters, probably why people get the cheaper ones. If you have several machines and change filters as often as they recommend, can get very expensive. I guess a repair due to a poor filter could be a lot worse, thanks for taking the time to make the videos.

      Interesting you say that. As the local Bobcat to me is cheaper than NAPA or Orielly's... At least near me. I was about to comment that they are cheaper than aftermarket. Guess I am just lucky.

      If you bring your Bobcat in to a dealership (M-series and newer) and have the latest and greatest software installed, then you'll only need to change the filter when the machine tells you it's necessary. Gone are the days of replacing the filter every 250 hours... Unless you're frequently on dusty jobsites.

    I use only Bobcat parts from my closest local dealer, 60 miles away I called them to make sure they had the filters that I would need for the service
    I have been tempted to use aftermarket filters but glad I haven't and won't after your information. Thanks for sharing this with us👍. I might use the shop bobcat parts.

    I believe the reason there are fakes out there is because Bobcat is the king of "proprietary parts". Bobcat uses parts that are manufactured by a different company and will not allow that company to sell the parts to the public. This allows Bobcat to charge more for the parts. SCREWING THEIR CUSTOMER! It's really unfortunate. I like Bobcat but they really screw customers when it comes to parts.

    I have ordered parts direct from bobcat and the pricing was decent and shipping was really fast. I have found that if you stick with OE suppliers sometimes you can save a few bucks on parts over the dealer branded parts. At the end of the day do your research and only buy from reputable suppliers.

    Thank you for the video. My T550 is a home/farm machine and I just got it. No often than I’ll change the filters, due to low hour usage, I’ll be sure to use original parts. I’m wondering about the hydraulic seals though too. Wow there is a significant price difference in the seal kits. Again though maybe it just make sense to use original and be done.

    I use the shop bobcat for all my parts, my local dealer sucks and they own all the dealerships in the states. After my last run in with them, I will ship my machine 2 states over to have another company work on it. These videos are awesome.

    That Baldwin filter would suck to get and your machine already has the updated relief cap. Instead of cutting the fuel filter open and getting plastic swarf everywhere, place the filter seam area on a hard flat surface and whack it around the middle with a dead blow mallet. I've yet to have one split anywhere but the seam.

    yes! and bobcat probably charges. $20 for that foam. i recon 10.000% is a good profit margin. i buy from fleet or Baldwin. sick of been raped we don't make $2000 a day working on farm. in Australia we pay around $125 for genuine hydrostatic filter. A Baldwin filter is $58

    It's not only Bobcat filters being copied. Every product of value is copied and sold as original. Bicycle parts, lawn mower parts, smartphone accessories, knife sharpeners, tools, tooling, measuring equipment, etc. are only a few examples of counterfeit parts that appear identical to OEM. The counterfeiters copy the packaging, labels, included paperwork, and outer appearance as to be indistinguishable from the OEM parts. However, the internal part designs and materials are inferior. To counteract this, some OEM's have put a one-time scannable code on the package. You scan it with your phone and it looks it up in the OEM's system and cancels it out. Any counterfeit codes/labels will not be in the system letting you know it's not OEM.
    Thanks for the video letting people know this is a real problem.

    I am starting to see lots of injectors going bad with all bobcat filters. I think there filters suck and am thinking about rigging up a cat can filter. Just looked at a newer 595 and there is no filter anymore that i could see except a small inline behind the normal area.

    • @tinker0000
      @tinker0000 5 місяців тому

      Are your injector problems actually due to material ingestion? Or are you having problems with fuel quality and water? As a mechanic, I'm finding more issues with water ingestion and it's effects on iron parts causing rust that flakes off. The cheap knock-off filters don't have effective water separation qualities and the HPCR will rust on the inside and take injectors out. I've seen people replace multiple injectors and cuss Bobcat out when it's a problem with the rail rusting the whole time.

    Instead of trashing it, why don't you do test, Oh wait you are bias because bobcat pays you, have more competitive pricing, I honestly believe with the amount of maintenance the bobcat requires these would be ok.
    i bought filters online and it came marked as bobcat. The price was too good to be real, but once i put them on my bobcat it was purring like a new baby, I wouldrather just buy Kubota filters instead of bobcat brand

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  10 місяців тому +2

      We have tested the filters in other videos, and there are absolutely no aftermarket fuel filters for the common rail systems that will filter to 3 micron at 99% efficiency. Either way, Bobcat has never paid me a dime. I am just a mechanic who works on a lot of Bobcat equipment.
