I have been a huge fan of David's for 25+ years now and still believe, as I did back then, that he is the best male vocalist in the world and for me...it is not even close. I have seen him live 11 times now, met him at least 8 times, met his mom and dad and have been to two concerts at his home in Tn.. I am 63 years old and have followed music my entire life...I have never heard a talent like David Phelps before finding him when I heard him sing "It is Finished" with the Gaither's..., or since. The best in the world and he has been for the past twenty + years.

He’s well preserved because he is a child of the Most High God. He has always used his voice to glorify God. When you are in God’s Will, he takes care of His children. Praise Jesus for this amazing gift that we get to enjoy. To God be ALL the glory. When I listen to this song I picture a battle between God and us. He loves us so much! ♥️

David is incomparable---exactly what God created him to be. I have never heard any other singer who has the ability to sing MULTIPLE genres and, like you said, "slay" every single one! The first time I heard him, I immediately fell in love with his fantastic voice and his ability to write songs. He is so talented. I have every DVD and CD of his.

Almost anything he sings is either his own song or one he has rearranged like no one, except him, can do. He refreshes songs you think you know and it doesn't frustrate you. He is very aware of the love many of us have for the original versions, even his own, and is careful when tampering with them to give them a new freshness, without diminishing from the original. It still doesn't take away from the D5 he sings at the end....goodness. David Phelps is my #VocalHero. His subgenre of a lot of his christian music is not even what i would normally gravitate towards.....however, when i hear him sing, I can be in a singing rut....or a life rut....and he makes ....me.....want.....to sing!

David's hair is a mystery to all. When he did oh holy night for example he was already rapidly balding. His hairline had gone south and he already had a noticable balding spot on top, but then less than 2 years later he had a full head of hair, the hairline was back, and the balding spot was gone. My assumption was that due to the drastic change so quickly that he probably had a hair transplant procedure or something of that nature, but at the end of the day he could be like Uncle Fester or Cousin It for all I care because it's that amazing voice that defines David Phelps as the greatest gospel tenor of all time not to mention my favorite male vocalist. God bless David Phelps, and such a great contribution to mankind.👍
Maybe not a hair transplant. There are effective products out there that can regrow hair. Also the way the hair is styled can hide weak areas. Anyway I agree he could have purple hair and it wouldn't matter because of his sense of presence (passion) and his voice. Amazing singer and my favorite also.

David always had a heavy concert schedule and was in the public eye frequently so I thought he may have used another type of hair growth treatment if he used anything at all. I saw him once live a couple of years ago and I will never forget that concert either. Out of this world.

David is a Baylor graduate (vocal performance) and has always been amazing. Honestly, I think David has gotten better as he has gotten older. His placement and the way he mixes up the tone color is amazing. He can sing soft and sweet or powerful and raise the roof. He looks better because of the lifestyle he lives. No drinking or smoking, very healthy. Plus he may or may not have had hair implants. 😜

wow. isn't it amazing how an actor can be so good at his role, that he can convince you to believe that he is someone he has never been? you believe him, you keep the false impression of the kind of man his is, just by the beauty of his voice. then the reality hits you hard. all that glitters is not gold. your fairy tale person becomes nothing more than an actor. and you find yourself as disappointed as the kid on Christmas who thought he was getting a pony but got a bicycle instead. Keep your eyes open and your heart realistic. some people have the gift of faking it well. I know the real person behind the voice.
He was vocally amazing but I felt he unfortunately lost some of the soul of the song and it became very broadway which may be some people's cup of tea but left me a little flat. He is still an amazing vocalist though!🥰

His voice has actually improved from his twenties into his 50's...not diminished. Remarkable!
Plus he doesn’t have a full orchestra playing with him…only 2 instruments. It’s his VOICE that carries it!! Soooo GREAT!
