Romans 6:3-5 in the Sacrament of baptism we are baptised into the death, burial and resurrection and thus united with Christ. Gal 3:27 we put on Christ in baptism.
Wow. That was beautiful. As we got to verse 2, I thought "No! That would be horrible! Go back to the person I was before salvation?!!!!?" The next thought immediately came "That is a life I NEVER wish to return to! How empty. How lacking of all hope. How confused. How desperate."
Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says? What did Peter say below? Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Act 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage? Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, “baptize” KJV Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
@@aletheia8054Scripturally, there are two baptisms that the one baptism that saves us is composed of, water and Spirit As the antitype of the old covenants' type of cleansing the temple with water and blood before the Spirit of God would occupy it, under the new covenant water baptism for the remission of sins accomplishes the cleansing of the temple of our bodies for the Holy Spirit to occupy it. If there ever was a mathmatical combination that describes this it would be 1+1=1. For instance, when a believer recieves the Holy Spirit, He joins with their spirit. Now what was two spirits are now one spirit: Spirit/spirit. As Jesus said," I and the Father are one." So both baptisms are essential for salvation because it isn't just about being saved from hell its about being born again. Just as natural birth is the end result of a process so is spirutual rebirth.

Love the enthusiasm, but those two verses don’t work for the we are all the same thought. He said he and his father are one because they are two of the three heads of the trinity. He was claiming his diety at that time. Love our neighbors as ourselves is not saying we are one, it is a commandment to love one another in a Christ like way because we should, not because we are ‘one’. We are certainly not all the same person, but we are all born into the fallen nature from Adam. We are certainly not equal to God on any means. We are not minigods. The unification we DO have is we are all, as believers, adopted children of God and siblings through that. And we are all equally sinners as we are, as believers, equally saved in Christ alone
@@janaenae1338 that doesn’t make sense. Jesus was saying He is God. And love thy neighbor just means simply that, treat everyone with love and respect as you would yourself.
Its such a joy an delight to hear the scriptue being taught. O the love of our Saviour Christ Jesus.
Sinclair demonstrates that one can have the strongest of convictions and with grace and decency teach with such compassion and clarity. Thank you! DL
Sinclair Ferguson is a good man and gives a good clear message. Thank you.
Baptised into Christ Jesus
Baptised into His death
United to our Lord Jesus Christ
Galatians 2:20 now makes sense.
The grace of God showed how God saved' sinners from sin and they should keep oneself pure and holy ,fulfilling the covenant of love and faithfulness .
One of my favorite contemporary pastors/theologians.

Very well explained.
In fact, every believer in the NT was baptized into the name of Jesus, which must be therefore the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
In turn onoma. Not water

The Bible says there’s only one baptism and it’s not water. THAT Baptism is necessary.
