Thank you, Dear Pastor. God bless you! How much we need to be immersed in The Word and feel the joy of being nurtured by God' s Work in us. 'Feed us, Lord!' We beg You, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

1. Our union with Christ is the source of our fruitfulness 2. This involves pruning by the Father 3. We need to be nourished by the Word 4. The most important fruit is Love
Dr. Ferguson mentions during the reformation they heard 9 sermons a week. What did this look like? One every morning with an additional one Wednesday and Sunday evening?
🤔 Jesus says HE is the Vine....we are the branches....so if I understand your question, the answer would be no. Studying John 15, Jesus is keeping with the same principle as John 3:18 & 3:36....if we "believe" (Gr. Pisteuo...to entrust, as in one's life) in the Son we have life, if not we are condemned. If we trust, then it will be manifested by obedience. We will desire to become more intimate with Him through study & prayer. If we do so, we will begin to produce fruit & as we learn to die to SELF, we will see the Fruit of the Spirit (The Holy Spirit, not ours) revealed more & more ❤️✝️
So how do I abide with an ongoing relationship by abiding in Jesus? Just by thinking about jesus giving himself for me that’s how? How is this expiriecnced
By giving yourself to obeying God's law, by medidating on His word, and by praying diligently. All things I do lamentably poorly, but nevertheless I rest on His grace.
I like Sinclair but am vehemently opposed to his position that the Abrahamic covenant has been fulfilled and that the Church has replaced Israel. I simply do not understand how such theologically educated men can treat the scriptures so surreptitious.
Are you a dispensationalist? The Mosaic Covenant was added to the Abrahamic Covenant.....the Mosaic Covenant does not replace the Abrahamic Covenant. In Reformed theology....Israel has always been the church and the churxh has always been Israel.
@@carmensiekierke3579 No. They are distinct entities. Israel is not the Bride of Christ. Israel is never mentioned being the "Church." Paul clearly distinguishes the two. This the problem with Covenant theology: allegorical hermeneutic.
@@davidhamilton1981 The position #1, that the Abrahamic Covenant was fulfilled or #2, that the Church has replaced Israel? The Davidic Covenant and the Palestinian Covenants both amplified the Abrahamic Covenant. Quite clearly neither of those have been fulfilled. All three are unconditional covenants. "I will." The Mosaic is not. "I will if you will."
Excellent teacher… I must watch this over and over again.
My favorite Pastor, such a Godly man. Thank you, Sinclair Ferguson.

In Christ Jesus - the most common way Christians are described in the NT
Is it possible the vines the Lord is referring to are those in the visible new covenant?

May I live in the Vine and take my nourishment from His Word! A great word picture on which to meditate.

Can I ask what your issue is with that position?

Romans 2 verse 28-29 also Galatians 6-16 there’s only ever been one gospel message Genesis 3-15.
