Hi Jacob, for check-in/check-out, can you comment about your wait time in line? When my GF and I stayed at The Strat last month, the wait time was a GRUELING 2 hours for check-in and another 1.25 hours for check-out!!! At other times, when we'd walk past the front desk, the lines did not appear much shorter. We would have opted for automated check-in at the kiosks (to skip the awful line), but the kiosk rejected my ID, so that eliminated that option. If you could share your experience with check-in/check-out, we would greatly appreciate it! Otherwise, our experience at The Strat was pleasant and similar to your's ... we got an antiquated room (without USB ports) for a great rate, the restaurants were good, and the casino had a decent selection.
Great video. Thinking of coming out to Vegas in Feb/March. Will be mostly driving around Vegas looking at condos. Not really looking to party. I like the room rates, but what would my parking situation look like at the Strat? You mentioned the area isn't so great. Is there indoor parking maybe? Also I'm a NYer, so Vegas "bad" might not be too bad for me. lol
This first day that Clark County lifted the Vegas Strip shutdown on hotels during pandemic, I was there and comped 6 nights free, zero resort fees, zero tax, zero. Flew on a jet from Alaska to Vegas and saw only six other passengers on my 737 flight.
Bro... I honestly think this is one of my favorite review videos you've done. I LOVE these type of fleshed out hotel/casino and room reviews. I specifically appreciated you talking about the transportation options and the surrounding attractions. I had no idea the Downtown Loop Shuttle existed. The detail you went into the whole Strat experience was really well done. Thank you.
The first thing I when I hit my hotel is go to the Bus Stop and buy a 3 day pass for $20. The Deuce buses on the strip run 24 hours a day and come really often during busy times. The bus will take you from the strip to downtown, and I love meeting people when riding the bus. That's funny about the upgrade. Most people have do the $20 bill trick to try to get an upgrade. I think this guy liked you.
And I always walk everywhere. It's the one way. I'm gonna get great exercise on the vacation... unless I go out of town into red rock Canyon or something then I'm Rent-A-Car for the day

In 2005 I was asked if I could help on the arm of the ride. My boss and I were responsible for the aligning and drilling holes for the outside light panels.
Great video Jacob. I was down there back in 2019 because my traveling partners wanted to go to the top to see the view. They did a great job renovating that property. It sure didn't look like that in 2019. It is much nicer now. These new "convenience fees" are such a rip off. I get the resort fees, those are just taken off the regular price of the room. Resort fees are nationwide now. But convenience fees? They push a button to print a ticket. Ridiculous. That was a nice room for the price even with the resort fee added though. Thanks for the review!
@jacobslifeinvegas , can you please do a video where you show us what it is like commuting on foot via the monorail & public transit from one landmark, say the Stratosphere, to another landmark, say the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign? I’m not sure why this was suggested to me but I really enjoyed it anyway this video was really well done and that restaurant made me hungry. I love these no nonsense straight to the points and properly edited videos.
When you said “right in the middle of all the action” I immediately figured you were at the Best Western in Casino Royale; didn’t realize by “action” you meant “crime” 😂
I stayed at the strat a few years ago. I know people talk some trash about this place but I loved my stay there. The sportsbook is awesome for watching a game. It was super laid back and has kind of a lounge feel to it and it wasn't super crowded. Blackjack tables were awesome. And the food was great. There is a little diner off the casino floor that had a $4.99 dinner special and a $5.99 late night burger special. I utilized each of those during my stay and both were delicious and came with a lot of food. They also had a great sports bar with awesome food. Overall I had a fantastic experience there. Highly recommend.
I was at the circle K by bellagio and a guy pulled a gun to steal candy, so crime is crime lol I’m really considering the Strat with the arts district close and the free shuttle! Badass video Jacob.
@electrictroy2010 We’re in the hospitality industry here on Maui. We’re unionized here as well but along with that we pay high union dues & benefits not as strong. The high cost of living here on Maui, we sort of break even! 😂 Doing it for 35 yrs we appreciate when we travel & get good service. 🤙
I once worked at the Strat in the 2nd floor gift shop from 99 - 01. They then moved me to the gift shop at the top of Strat. I will say that I had an amazing view of LV every day from up there. But that position was short lived when I decided not to work up there or for the Strat after the 9/11 attacks.
Stayed here last summer and loved it. However one day we wanted Mexican food so we discovered north of the Strat (15 minute walk) on the corner of South Main Street and West California Avenue in the Arts District is Casa Don Juan...best homemade Mexican food restaurant we have been to so far. Very clean authentic Mexican decor and atmosphere with reasonable prices and excellent friendly service. You get an ample amount of food with each dish on the menu. I highly recommend it.
Around 2007 I used to stay at the Stratosphere quite a bit. Back then I was getting rooms for $17 and $18 a night with a $5 resort fee. Oftentimes if you ask, they would waive the resort fee. Also, if you were a guest they would give you one free day to go to the top of the observation tower for free per stay. After a dozen or so stays I had a problem and I asked for a refund and they denied me. Been to Vegas probably 15 or 20 times since and I never set foot in the Stratosphere ever again! I believe they have changed ownership once or twice since my last stay.
Thanks for another great video, Jacob. Never stayed at the Strat, but usually end up visiting the casino at least once on most trips. The last time I was there, Roxy's diner had been replaced, and there was remodeling going on. It looks much better and, from other videos, I've seen they've also updated a lot of rooms. Maybe I'll have to stay a couple nights there next time I'm in Vegas.
Stayed at the Strat many times, I was last there October 2022. The casino and bars have had a make over and it’s very nice in there, live music at the weekends. I always stay in a Select Room, bathrooms need updating in them. Check in is horrendous, over an hour wait in the line, not enough staff and the staff always seem to have to go and speak to a manager about something with every person checking in. Also never trust the price quoted on your booking. I booked through their website for 7 nights and it was about $975 with all fees. At check in I was told it was $1200, when I complained I was told it was mistake and would honour the confirmed price. I elected for the late check out with a confirmed price of $25 if they could accommodate the request. I was told they could but the price would be $50 as the hotel was very busy. It’s a shame it’s a good hotel but silly things let it down, basically it feels tour trying to be scammed for charging extra on confirmed prices.
Great panoramic views from top. The best in town. As for the "danger Will Robinson" neighborhood, bring a way to protect yourself and don't walk around at night. Duh.
Jacob is strong, Jacob is Macho, and Jacob is powerful. Look how he carries himself! So of course he doesn't have security concerns. He has no idea this is a sketch part of Las Vegas, it doesn't even cross his mind.
Thanks for showing us The Strat! I think the biggest knock has always been the dicey area that surrounds it. I got off the Deuce once and explored (I believe it was) the west side. Definitely dodgy! It's too bad because The Arts District is right next door, and there are so many good eats that are reasonable around The Strat. Generally, I stay at Oyo due to the proximity to the airport and the good odds on Dogs (William Hill), plus they allow food deliveries. I use to go to Westgate a lot, but NO food deliveries allowed (you have go across the street to the convenience store, several hundreds yards in the hot sun plus a light). Oyo rooms are not the greatest, but for a quick stay, it's not bad.
It's been awhile since we stayed at The Strat (The Stratosphere last I was there), but always enjoyed it due to the cost. It would never be my first recommendation for a vegas newbie, but for frequent visitors, great cheap place just you can get back to Vegas!
Not near anything. Wouldn't walk anywhere near there at night. There is a reason this place is cheap. If you want cheap, Harrah's, Linq, or Flamingo would be much better choices.
I walk around there at night sometimes to catch a bus. It’s really not that bad, just junkies around. Just be aware of your surroundings and don’t be stupid.
Don't be a pussy bro. The tweezers just want ur change for drugs not ur life lol... Tons of em where I'm from and at this point it doesn't even phase me . Saw a guy shadow boxing a tree and thought to myself, forms a bit off but hey at least he's tryin
Looked good! Just didn't feel the excitement. When the resort fee is more than the room cost, the area not the best and travel to and from hotel makes it not a desirable location. One of my earlier trips, we went there for the site seeing which was great and revolving bar. You did a great job and I appreciate your quality and effort!
Really enjoyed the video Jacob. I thought the price was great until I go deflated by the $45.00 resort fee. I think that's a tad too high. The casino looks great, nice & modern. Will probably drop in on my next trip to Vegas. keep up the good work & looking forward to your next video.
I usually stay at Harrah's for $9 per night plus the resort fee. I just booked the Rio for $17 per night plus the resort fee with a strip view for April 2023.
Stayed many times at the Strat, location did it for me...and the bus system is right out front...easy to get to whether going to Fremont or down to Luxor and entertaining ....rooms not bad, food good, shopping basic, the tower good at night.
Great video, Jacob! Thanks for doing the property justice and highlighting Chī Asian Kitchen! I love The STRAT. Will be back on the 22nd! Have a good week!
Totally forgot about this place! I was looking at Caesar’s and Mlife. Looking for the cheapest room rates. I got dropped off here by Lyft and hopped on the Deuce, very convenient! Thanks mang! 😀👍🏽
Great video, really enjoyed it and it compelled me to comment because I am a frequent guest at the Strat. I've been getting free rooms from there for years, the location is nice, the parking is cool if you know where to park and my absolute reason I keep coming back is the smoking rooms. It's rare to find them now so when you get one, best keep it lol. The strip is to your right, naked city is behind you and to your left is a whole lotta something that doesn't interest me until Fremont lol. I will give y'all a tip for check in because those lines are long as hell. Book with the hotel, check in as soon as they send you a text, go to the key pick up line which will be way shorter and avoid waiting for hours. I have checked in as early as 8am. Select tower is the one you want because it's very very close to parking garage. Do not stay in North tower, it's a long way to the car and you will be in the dark side of the casino when exiting elevator. If you're a frequent guest at the strat, you know they waive the resort fee for comped rooms but if you're not and will be coming back soon, play a couple of hundreds to get comp rooms and no resort fee. Also, after 72 of check out, your comps are reloaded. The cafe downstairs is so good and you get money to eat there also. Unfortunately, my days at the Strat are probably over, my companion that has spent the last 4 yeats with me is no longer my lady and we have a ton of memories here so I will have to find another spot to feast on. Cheers Jacob!!!
@@electrictroy2010 If you're gonna gamble why not have it benefit you. Additionally, I'm being comped the room plus no resort fee. Add that up and multiply that with 30 nights a year and you'll get what I spend to have a place to lay my head while having the time of my life.
I STAYED HERE TWICE IN NOVEMBER 1ST TRIP I HAD A REMODELED ROOM THIS LAST WEEKEND I HAD THE STANDARD KING LITTLE OUTDATED BUT VERY CLEAN! THIS IS A GREAT DEAL CASINO IS BY FAR EASY TO NAVIGATE AND ALSO THERES MORE TO DO AROUND HERE THAN ONE WOULD THINK YOUR MINUTES FROM FREEMONT OR THE STRIP! GREAT FOOD CHOICES AT GOOD PRICES! COMING BACK OVER CHRISTMAS
Best value but you have to remember the resort fee. Also, I got a way nicer room everytime I stayed there and my rate was never more than 16.00 (not on weekends...the room rate more than doubles even when super low). I always spend about 48 and change total per night.
Slot hosts at 3 locations couldn’t get me in the first 2 nights of a 4 night stay over Thanksgiving, no availability anywhere, so I had to stay at the Travelodge on Harmon. What a SH#*HOLE! Try reviewing that sometime. No resort fee, out the door at $26.73
Heres my take on the STRAT , u cant really get a better bang for buck considering the pools are both pretty cool roof toppers . the rooms are clean and basic , the elevate rooms are new and were very nice . i loved a fridge that wasnt packed w $10 cans of pop and $20 airplane bottles . i packed it with my own stuff . their cafe was great w decent priced meals . their sports bar was great too . i even walked w my daughter to the gas station at 3am and didnt really feel like the area was horrible but def a few unlit abandoned spots to pass along the way . we bought some beer and gave one to a old homeless guy and had a small conversation and walked back w no issues . love the strat . nowhere else has the things that the STRAT has , hopefully the big shopping part comes back but it was dead last time i was there . thanks for your vids , you do a great job .
Lol…I’ve never seen the pillow punch against the headboard soft and plush test lol. I like you more and more Jakey…you have your own unique style and I’ve seen you do lots of collabs with other Vegas peeps I watch and everyone has their own little unique twists …I love Tanya and Dave’s bed test and that’s what I thought of when you punched that pillow pretty hard…but it’s something only a big muscley guy could pull off lol. I guess just keep being you ☺️
I like the strat, and it has gotten a lot better since I stayed there twice back in 07. That being said, I wouldn't say it is on the strip. Yes, it is on Las Vegas Blvd but is a long walk to the next closest resort (The Sahara) which isn't even considered being on the strip anymore as it is a several block walk to the next resort at circus circus. It is a nice place to stay and has only gotten better, but be advised that you will be taking Uber or the bus if you want to go to the actual strip.
This comment wont age well lol. In a few years the gaps will be closed and in a decade or two nobody will remember when there was empty spaces between properties.
I had a really good experience there last year. Yes, the area didn’t seem like it was the best, but I’ve seen and been to a lot sketchier places in my life. No one messed with my husband and I while we were there and we walked around a bit at night. I think as a general rule anywhere in the world, don’t make yourself look vulnerable or like an easy target. Be aware of your surroundings. Also, we went in August and experienced the flooding. It was kind of scary. Luckily our car was parked at the top of the garage. I feel bad for anyone that had to drive through the lake on the street level!
I rented a whole 4 bedroom house Airbnb on a Tuesday for $176 in Henderson, NV. I remember wrapping up my stay in Vegas on a Sunday and Circus Circus Sunday rate was $33, but that was too North from the Strip.
Thank you for the room review! Looks nice enough for me. I've been in The Strat, all the way to the top. Epic views! The 1 reason I never stay there is it's a pretty long walk down the strip or to Fremont St. But there is a solution to that- a bus pass on the Duece!
Just got back from Vegas. Didn't stay there, was compef at NyNy. But did enjoy going up to the Strat obervation tower and getting a couple 2 for 1 strawberry daiquiris at happy hour!🍓
It’s been a while since I went to the Strat ( aka Stratosphere) , I still have the picture for when I was riding the Insanity Ride and I got dizzy 🥴. The Strat is my favorite hotel because of how they do the fireworks 🎆 every New Year’s Eve and I love all the renovations they did to the resort.
Thanks for doing this. Once I move to Las Vegas in March I want to learn about betting in football. Good to know about a place to start. Have a nice Christmas season.
Nice video and review of this hotel. One question I have: Since the neighborhood is not so great, is it a safe walk to the monorail especially at night time?
No. Not only that, the monorail is horribly inconvenient. It drops you off at the rear of every casino (far from the action). Spend $20 and get a taxi or uber
i found a room at Luxor for just $10 more than this. depends on check in / out dates of course. Luxor is intriguing, all the ancient Egypt stuff. The Sphinx is quite mysterious. I was a little afraid of what the other guests might be like so opted for Cosmo. I'm not a big stud like you, i'm weak and rather shy, so i have to take more security precautions.

Great review! Yes always leave a tip for the hardworking housekeeper 😊🤙
What for? All strip casinos are unionized with housekeepers/ staff getting 20/hour ($25/hour bartender). Plus great union benefits
Oh my god. I had a military daze flash back when you said, "Fix your rack!" 😂😂
Casa Don Juan is awesome.
Amen bro. Same experience.
Nice video Jacob, it was nice for the front desk employee to offer you the free upgrade
Resort fee is probably double the room rate
if it doesnt include a BJ and steak and eggs I aint paying no resort fee, airbnb all day when i go to vegas, get a private pool... etc
😂😂😂
@Gregory Duncan 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭
Yup. Stayed at the Strat last week for thanksgiving. Total scam. 😂😂
The old down ones are cheap but nothing going to be under $40 unless you got a player card.
With soaring inflation, depression and recession.., what Vegas needs is an affordable "Capsule Hotel" for budget-minded travelers!
Hell yeah!
It's around $20 in Vietnam. I stayed there once.
CRIME called bait & switch (advertising low price & charging more at arrival)
I like the little office space!
It was a nice little surprise!
Great panoramic views from top. The best in town. As for the "danger Will Robinson" neighborhood, bring a way to protect yourself and don't walk around at night. Duh.
I’ve stayed at the Strat, it was cheap, nice, and safe. We got one of the suites, I love the Strat!
I like the Strat. I stayed there a couple of times and loved it.
Man, this is awesome….I remember watching this channel when he just started and mannnnn the channel has come a long way. Badass
😂 I didn’t know a $22 room was available... 20 years ago !!! 😂😂😂. EXCELLENT VIDEO, EXCELLENT CAMERA WORK !
$22 for a room which turns out to be almost $70 with resort fees and other fees. Typical false advertising by casinos. Not fooling anybody.
Another amazing video. Thank you for sharing this. I would definitely stay here.
I love the Strat. That was my go to when I went to Vegas, back when is was called The Stratosphere. I'm happy to see the upgrades!
I stayed there back in march and walked at all hours. Once you make it past the mini skid row area, you’re fine lol
Don't be a pussy bro. The tweezers just want ur change for drugs not ur life lol... Tons of em where I'm from and at this point it doesn't even phase me . Saw a guy shadow boxing a tree and thought to myself, forms a bit off but hey at least he's tryin
making it sound like its a bad bad area its not even bad just alot of homeless
I stick with the flamingo, perfect location for just the right price and honestly the rooms aren’t bad at all
Looked good!
I always tip everywhere I go but never thought about leaving a 10er or a 5er on the table for the cleaning person. Very good idea.
I usually stay at Harrah's for $9 per night plus the resort fee. I just booked the Rio for $17 per night plus the resort fee with a strip view for April 2023.
What the how bro how
@@trench-tr8ph Use the rewards card and sign in first then it shows rates and yes Rio most days comes as low as $8 (not weekends of course)
Rio is awful sorry 😂
@@DouradaBambina it's going to be my first time there. I usually stay at Harrah's.
CEASARS players card reduces the room rate to $10 when you type-in the number. That applies to Rio, Harrahs, Flamingo, Hollywood, and sometimes Paris
Stayed many times at the Strat, location did it for me...and the bus system is right out front...easy to get to whether going to Fremont or down to Luxor and entertaining ....rooms not bad, food good, shopping basic, the tower good at night.
The cheapest I found was $25.50 + $39.95 resort fee + taxes about 10%. We are talking about atleast $72/night.
Jacob, as always you never disappoint! Really, shorts, when did you film this video? 😳 Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for including info about the transportation options that are available . Very helpful. Enjoyable video.
Have you been to the saw escape room ? Great videos edited amazingly
We always use the Monorail, but I had NO IDEA about the free shuttle service to Downtown! 🤯 TY for that tip!!
Fresh look at the Strat! I could see staying here!
Great video, Jacob! Thanks for doing the property justice and highlighting Chī Asian Kitchen! I love The STRAT. Will be back on the 22nd! Have a good week!
Great video! Most of us can't afford the luxury hotels very often.
Totally forgot about this place! I was looking at Caesar’s and Mlife. Looking for the cheapest room rates. I got dropped off here by Lyft and hopped on the Deuce, very convenient! Thanks mang! 😀👍🏽
Aside from great presentation, the music your using in the background is outstanding. Really takes a great video to the next level.
Yeah that makes sense… spends 100s on gambling so you can save $45 off resort fee.
I just checked the website, and cheapest rate is $22. Not surprising since all costs in Vegas are increasing (including resort & parking fee)
Great video Jacob 🎉
Hey Jacob - great content in this video. Everything was informative and interesting- Thank You!✌👍
What’s up?Jacob great video!
Thank you Jacob, you're very good at showing us everything.
Love your work Jacob!
I guess just keep being you ☺️
Bro you're really everywhere in vegas your goal should be to try to experience everything on the strip this was super cool
I took the walk from the Sahara to the Strat talk about a workout with the heat lol
This comment wont age well lol. In a few years the gaps will be closed and in a decade or two nobody will remember when there was empty spaces between properties.
@@ThatCasualZach yeah i’m visit every year to see the progress lol
@zachthediver8626 I would love if that happened, but that is still decade's away if it ever actually happens.
Was gonna say the same thing. No matter what Bob Stupak claimed, his hotel was always a little north of the actual strip.
I was in Las Vegas when the Strat caught fire in 93.
Great video bro
Thank you!
Hello friend good evening
Nice sharing 👍👍 with beautiful las Vegas
Thanks for great sharing dull watched here'
I rented a whole 4 bedroom house Airbnb on a Tuesday for $176 in Henderson, NV. I remember wrapping up my stay in Vegas on a Sunday and Circus Circus Sunday rate was $33, but that was too North from the Strip.
Very informative video. Been there, but never stayed at the Strat. Looks like you been hitting the gym hard 💪
Great video Jacob. Useful too. Before this I might not have considered the Strat. Now I definitely would!
I have been looking to book here cause it’s so cheap. I always love going up the tower and enjoying the thrill rides. This video sold me!
Thank you for the room review! Looks nice enough for me. I've been in The Strat, all the way to the top. Epic views! The 1 reason I never stay there is it's a pretty long walk down the strip or to Fremont St. But there is a solution to that- a bus pass on the Duece!
Okay jacob, I enjoyed this video you really recorded it good keep up the good work good things to know about the strap
"Nickel and dime" Vegas... But still a good weekend get away spot
Bro did your quad give out entering Chi @4:42
Looking stacked, Jacob. Do a local's gym review. "The Lift Factory" is the spot.
The Strat is my favorite hotel because of how they do the fireworks 🎆 every New Year’s Eve and I love all the renovations they did to the resort.
old school vibe, I love it
Thanks for doing this.
Spend $20 and get a taxi or uber
i walked around the area not realising it was dangerous!!
I remember staying here and going up to the sky deck was just included
Bro, you been lifting? Looking fresh💪
I love this guy 👍
i found a room at Luxor for just $10 more than this. depends on check in / out dates of course. Luxor is intriguing, all the ancient Egypt stuff. The Sphinx is quite mysterious. I was a little afraid of what the other guests might be like so opted for Cosmo. I'm not a big stud like you, i'm weak and rather shy, so i have to take more security precautions.
Nice review !
Cheaper than renting an apartment and no need to put down one month deposit or sign a lease.
