In this video titled EU4 A to Z - I Became THE THIRD ROME As Russia I play as Muscovy in Europa Universalis 4 1.35 Domination. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Muscovy and I attempt to form Russia, conquer Constantinople, conquer Rome and conquer about 15 different regions in EU4. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future.

Nice to see you getting sponsors
Amazing video ! Thanks for it
I can imagine the tsar reading about this new idea of absolute monarchy in his morning newspaper and revoking all the priviliges in one day 😂
Privileges? Who needs them?
Ivan Grozny enter the chat
@@lukaswilhelm9290Peter the Great enters the chat too
I mean, it kinda was like that in couple places. You can go the French way of reforms where every other year the king had just a tiny bit more power until his rule was absolute or you can go the Danish way where you pretty much go from feudalism to absolutism in a month by what is really just a coup d’etat against the various estates
34:15 RedHawk casually calling _Suleyman the Magnificent_ "a dumbass" lol
Lmao
If he was soooo magnificent his country would still exist
If you saw the Turkish soap opera you'd say the same
he is our based boy
@@StevonicusFlawed logic
It feels so weird to see a big Russia without Kola.
Why take Kola if you can take Constantinople
Right, true border gore.
Because Murmansk clearly is a more glorious and prestigious city than Constantinople@@GwainSagaFanChannel
True, brother.
Coming from a Kola peninsula dweller.
also finland to a certain level ngl
Always take the province of Novgorod in the first war. Its a center of trade and you wont have to siege down that T3 fort twice.
Capitals are more expensive in peace deals, so in order to not waste warscore, it could be smart to wait with conquering Novgorod to the second war.
@@gilbertmunch2432 Yes,plus always take humiliate in first war since its most easier to get that age objective than later fighting bigger nations.
Capitals are more expensive, but you have CB for it, and its highest WS province. Beside that, it is possible to take all border provinces and Novgorod. And if you take it in first war, autonomy will drop sooner.
I do love watching the occasional mega-episode of A-Z! I appreciate the extra effort that went into this and would love to see the occasional one in the future. Just whenever you feel motivated to do a longer campaign
Played it for three days bruh, more than 18 hours total
I agree
Yes please
@@TheRedHawk Understandable. You never really play to the age of absolutism. But it was a nice special episode and we all appreciate that
@@TheRedHawk puttin in work
I think longer videos with more complete and ambitious goals for major nations fits this series the best.
I know this is probably a pain in the ass to play and film but this has been one of my favourite A-Z videos in the past few months. Would love to see more of these longer playthroughs every once in a while.
Greetings from Russia. I watch all your A to Zs since the first video came out. Really enjoy your content
"Greetings from Russia. Red Hawk, now tell us where to attack in 2024? " 😁 ZZZ

When i play Russia i put all my focus in stopping ottomans from expanding as much as i can after that its easy to dominate everything
When i play Russia, i get ridiculous alliances, Poland-Denmark at the start is almost certain. PLC-Ottoman, Austria-Ottoman, France-Ottoman (and somehow France gets through entire HRE too!~)
It is a constant hassle to break these kind of alliances, makes it harder to rotate wars to prevent coalitions.
@@AwoudeXholy war is of great help in getting rid of ottoman Christian Allies tho
My opening alliance always includes one of the hordes. I'm usually able to get Nogai. Helps a lot with crushing other opponents on the steppes.
Great job becoming the third Rome!
Only three days?! You are lucky playing EU4 full time, would take me weeks 😂.
Really big goals you set, really a true success.
Dude this is a magnum opus of a campaign. It was really cool to see a late game video. An amazing video for an amazing nation.
Possibly my favorite A-Z of all time. These longer ones are so much fun!
I love these long form videos a ton, but I understand that it takes a ton of effort and I appreciate it, thank you for the great times!
We've been graced by yet another epic A-Z moment by Hawk - equal parts of pain and awesome-sauce. Catherine II would be proud!
Just for the clarification: Beloozero is actually pronounced as Belo Ozero (with double O, not w or u. Russian for "White Lake"). Althogh considering its geographical location it may be called as BelowZero... 🙂
Great campaign Hawk, those 50+ mins just flew by. Nice to see PDX has added some flavor/mission trees that makes it worthwhile playing beyond 1600.
This was an awesome video! Literally one of your best, I hope the pain was worth it to you!
if u look closely when hes in the middle east u can see persia almost die and then claw itself back to good borders throughout the campaign
The amount of cores taken without reconquest wars hurt me
W/ reconquest, retaking cores takes both less province warscore cost, and incurs less AE
Yeah, it hurts me to. At 31:27 when Hawk was suprised that he can grab thiss little amount of provinces i was screaming inside "because of wrong CB"
19:40 remember kids, don't be like Hawk, always use the correct CB in your wars!
Love the video! Thanks for the effort, long videos like this with high goals and ending mission trees are awesome!
Nice to see a big A to Z goal
I have to say this was my favorite video to date. Just doing the early steps gets to be predictable after a while.
for the last nation in this series you have to do a wc man, would be a glorious way to end it. Great video as always!
I know its early, but this inspired me to suggest a goal for when you get to Novgorod:
- Control all three end trade nodes, while remaining one of the Russian republic forms.
I’m sure there’s something else you could do to make it more interesting.
29:05 Bold is still a trait that makes the AI declare dumb wars. I’m playing an England campaign right now and the Ottomans declared on my ally Austria(and called in no allies) in one of the dumbest wars I’ve ever seen an AI declare.
Ottomans had 41k men and 10k manpower. Austria alone had 45k and a Hungary PU, and was allied to me with my subjects(Ireland Scotland Gascony Aragon).
I think it was something like 50k men vs. 250k(and we had manpower to spare too) when everyone had buffed up their armies for the war and I was super confused about why they declared it. That’s when I realized he was Bold.
Your reaction to their DoW was almost my exact reaction
Muscovy in the hands of a player is very fun, almost easy. Though playing against it is not as satisfying as having to beat the Ottomans. Who always seem to be the #1 GP in all my games. And are a pain in the behind to take down. Russia often times falls behind tech, has a hard time with embracing institutions and is too poor to afford an effective army. Which is all historically accurate. How they managed to become so huge IRL is crazy when you think about it.
Ottomans are never a problem if you take care of them early, i know it depends how you are playing but even as a minor in europe is easy to screw them early, Russia is always pretty bad unless they grab trade ideas early, i notice that when they get it they are always pretty good challenge
When your army adopted guns and having more manpower than any of your neighbours it's not so hard to subjugate everyone from baltic sea to pacific ocean.
By the time of Ivan Grozny most of the work was already done. Russia annexed Crimean khanate after they had a pacific coastline, for example.
In reality, Russia was not so far behind in technology, as is commonly believed in Western propaganda. But the problem the Russians is that they created a first-class army with the best weapons and then began to rest on their laurels. Until the enemy surpassed them in technology and invaded Russia. Then the Russians began a feverish leap in technology and again created a better army and destroyed the enemy. And then they stopped the development of the army again... etc...
So poor that at one time it bought the whole of Kiev from Poland and Finland from Sweden.
I know th longer video must be more of a chore to put together but I love the longer video format! I know you couldn't do it everytime but maybe try to sprinkle those in every once in while!
Oh yes, finally, EU4 A-Z Director's cut
This video was so great, I had so much fun. I love your content, keep it up. Sorry for commenting too much. I think that recording the video in three days is better, you can just play for an hour or two, get back next day fresh, you wouldn't get frustrated as much, you can have more fun too.
Well done, I didnt believe when i saw what your goals are that you'd actually do them👏👏👏
Fun video, but I was disappointed that you didn't go for the Triple the Rome achievement.
this has made me want to run muscovy for my next campaign (also it’s funny remembering your belo ozero misfortunes watching this)
words cannot express how much i hate you for not taking kola
What do you think guys? Should we tell him he missed a province in Anatolia :D :D Either way amazing video loved it :D
Watching you finish the mission tree, then all of a sudden more appear, was pretty fun.
I always absolutely panic when the Ottomans declare on me.
Russia is prolly my fav tag in 1.35. Tons of unique and powerful government reforms and modifiers.
I love when games go longer, makes it a lot more interesting given that A-Z normally ends around 1550
Holy crap, that’s a great idea. An admin advisor that gives you legitimacy. Call him a royal propogandist.
love it when Ai scotland manages to go big lol
An hour of redhawk is a great hour
if you declare for cores dont use the religious ideas CB, use the reconquest for 25% cost for provinces
Necer comment on your vids watch quietly in the corner usually. But man this campaign deserves a comment. Loved this.
9:26 you had me second-guessing myself there for a minute, but there is no legitimacy advisor.
On the topic of exploring the east, with the subjugate Kazan mission you get a conquistador as well. You can use that guy to fill in the blanks. Also, a lot of those provinces are wastelands, so it can trick you into missing something, when actually it doesn't matter much
Hawk, I loved this more in-depth guide! Please do more like it.
Very good video bro.
I liked it so much.
Your A-Z challenge is sooo cool.
Have good day man
24:00 if you get to 90 modernization and then either humiliate a rival or have no rival, you get to click a decision that gives you an awesome tier 1 govt reform. That govt reform gives you ccr, manpower, reduced war exaustion, dev cost among other things. It will allow you to play both tall and wide at the same time.
Redhawk's new hairstyle is eye catching.
i really like the longer play through. nice video mate
51min Video...Hawk, respect to you my man ❤
Maybe a WC with mushasha! Great video bte
funnest red rock video to date. good stuff bud
'Mushasha' is a way of saying 'muchacha' (young girl in Spanish). This type of accent is typical in the south Spain aka Andalucía. So i suggest you form Al-andalus and maybe restore the Caliphate in the process. Good job btw, really enjoyed this Muscovy run.
Great to see a video where Hawk goes all out.
Loved the EPIC campaign. Thank you
Nice. Unusually strong Ethiopia in this campaign.
Just like you did
I like to release Astrakhan as a vassal. When you incorporate them later you get their maps so you explore a lot of the East automatically.
38:05 Honestly, it would be much easier if missionaries worked as diplomats: you give them a goal to convert the provinces into my religion, and they do it automatically.
Sorry Hawk, you missed one province in Anatolia
Even the red hawk wants to own Crimea as Russia lol
Awesome videos! I do miss some battles though :D
Let's go!!!!
Awesome!!!
I was expecting this to be a Triple the Rome run.
Aah its sad you didnt take alaska 😢
Season M has been really good.
This is your longest campaign by far
Definitely appreciate these occasional longer videos
as ottomans you have to do the mehmets ambition mission
i cri everytiem when red hawk releases vassals and doesn't declare reconquest for them
Man avoid the burgers and summon the diet - lets take care of our health
Muscovy, Ming, Mongolia... good lord the M nations are powerful.
Edit: Mughals to.
Mughals.
Such a good vid Hawk!
I forgot about edicts. The last Muscovy run I tried, it was very frustrating keeping up with tech, I spent so many points getting renaissance, and colonialism and my neighbors got ahead in tech, which made wars frustrating as I remember a 15 stack of Kazan destroying a 23 stack I had, and I had to have nearly double the army to beat any army, which destroyed my man power.
19:40, physical pain when you didn't use the reconquest CB 😭
"Because of this guy" aka Suleiman the Magnificent
Did you just completely ignore orthodox icon bonuses all game? Looks like the slot was empty w 100% patriarch authority every time I looked 😭
Mehmed's ambition for ottomans whenever the time comes for them...
what an absolute banger of a video
Rostov and Yaroslavl will be brutally difficult to play. Good luck!
Holy shit your all the way to Mu! Congrats brother.
Great work! I have to wonder, it's not even 1700 yet; where would you go next, if you were to continue the campaign? China? Persia?
Yeah China, Perisa, Germany, Italy
whole world
It made me irrationally angry that you used the conquest CB while trying to reconquer Kazakhs cores
29:10 - that's not a new trait, it's been around for a bit, it didn't replace bold leader either that I know of, Martial educator gives reduction to army tradition decay, bold leader gives land leader shock.
do you even fight battles in your wars or why you always have that much manpower? or are you only sieging?
it's a good thing to release sibir and kazak but if don't use the reconquest CB, it's useless
Waiting for the Ryukyu campaign which will probably take the title of the longest campaign in the challenge.
If you summon a nobility diet which is easy like deving manpower, you can revoke the privilege without having to sell the titler
I genuinely loved this video sm, but you missed one provence in anatolia:/
Wicked mustache man
Incredible campaign!
Waiting for the day he plays rostov or naxos
Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's (very) keen on Modern warfare I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series
These vids are amazing in terms of quality & production but holy fuck it is depressing watching Red Hawk do more in ~230 years than I can in an entire campaign lol
Great to see a giant blobbing campaign from you.
