- In this video titled EU4 A to Z - This HAS TO BE The MOST UNIQUE NATION In EU4 I play as Qara Qoyunlu in Europa Universalis 4 1.37 Winds of Change. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Qara Qoyunlu and I attempt to complete the Qara Qoyunlu mission tree. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. As Ragusa, conquer all coastal Mediterranean centers of trade while only owning centers of trade.
Ragusa? More like Rage in the USA. Go colonial and get coalitioned.
Form Orthodox Italy (Also maybe form Dalmatia as an inbetween step).
Also, Italy has another city named Ragusa, in Sicily (In the game province of Syracuse). So, you could unite the "Ragusa's".
Conquer the whole Ragusa tradenode and make the tradenode richer than Venice.
you can go for achivement or why not colonize india (historicly they had one small colony there)
As Ragusa, get big and powerful enough so that YOU can guarantee the Ottomans. Or, reduce the Ottomans to an OPM and then guarantee them.
At that point just go full on and get With a Little Help and, if Hawk doesn’t have it already, Guarantor of Peace
As Ragusa, complete the achievement “With a little help”, which is “As Ragusa, lead a Trade League of at least 5 nations and guarantee the Ottomans’ independence.“
You should also own the Greece region and have the biggest fleet in the world.
That'd be a fun run to watch!
Fun fact: Qara Qoyunlu in the 1450-1460’s managed to unite most of Persia, but were conquered by Uzun Hasan’s Aq Qoyunlu about 3 decades from the start of the game. The Qara Qoyunlu were also descendants of Oghuz tribes, like the Ottomans and Aq Qoyunlu (QQ’s flag also has the symbol of the tribe they were derived from).
They should make AQ have specific bonuses when fighting QQ to reflect that historical context.
Fun fact: Azerbaijanis are descendants of Kara Koyunlu and Aq Qoyunlu, and it has nothing to do with Persian history, only Turkic Azerbaijani

12:00 You couldn't release Syria because Syria did exist at the start. After they got eaten up by the mamluks you were able to release them.
As Ragusa, take all coastal provinces in the Balkans, thus surpassing Croatia as the worst neighbor in the neighborhood.
By Local Legends and a Few Records, Ragusan (Dalmatian Merchants from Ragusa) Merchants funded and built a Church in Goa, India during the pre-colonial times. It is rather famous even now but the origin is slightly doubtful.
So, as Ragusa Own the Entirety of South India (i.e. what Vijaynagar owns at game start) and convert it to Catholic whilst defeating the Ottomans atleast once.

The Republic of Ragusa was an aristocratic maritime republic focused on trade reaching its commercial peak during the 15th and 16th centuries. So as Ragusa, do what Venice couldn’t do (correct me if I am wrong) and make the Venice trade node:
1. The richest node in the world before the end of the 16th century, and if that is too easy, then:
2. I heavily encourage you (though this is optional) to make sure you collect 50-100 ducats in it before the end of the 16th century.
Ngl both of these are insanely easy. Venice node is extremely powerful, you can steer basically all of the Levant/Eastern Europe into it and get hundreds of ducats
I'd absolutely love to see a follow-up video where you continue to finish the Persian mission tree from this save
Ragusa is Catholic Latin/Slavic nation focused on trade. So, show to those amateurs how it is done. 1. Become Dalmatia; 2. Humiliate Venice; 3. Take the whole Balkans and Italy (no border gore, please) and; 4. Become the richest country in the world. Btw, remain catholic during the entire game.
Ragusa is Dalmatian culture, which is in the Latin culture group, not Slavic.

I found the AQ -> Persia run to be so fun! With the ideas + missions + policies + and tribes estates you can really lean into the AQ and Persias cav focused NIs. The bottom half of the Persian missions are insane as they are basically free money printers. Even crazier if you stack goods produced modifiers. I would definitely love to see a guide on either AQ/QQ in the future

@@moazim94I just saw that video! It looks like our expansion was really similar, but by the time of your save I pushed a lot more into west India instead of fully conquering Egypt (I only took the coastal centers of trade). I definitely did not lean into CCA as much as you lol, but I stacked a bunch of cav cost modifiers which ended up making my cav half as cheap as infantry in the end (I got the max 90%) I did lean more towards building a massive economy which is why I opened Aristocratic + Economic for cav cost reduction and the juicy goods produced modifier from Eco.
@@vulturearmy3780 yh didn't have a ultimate goal other than cav focus. Getting horde ideas was a nice surprise but I didn't expect it, that last tribal reform is highly useful. Towards the end I wanted to stack divine ideas for the -10% fire damage and -10 morale, get 100% professionalism and maximise Los off drill (the student strat) and add quality ideas if possible. Finally get naval hegemon for the extra damage from the back row. But got bored a few years after the save file lol
You've reviewed my AQ run, whenever you get to them if you ally the Ottomans and build trust, call them in using only favours and not promise of land and keep them in truce with the Mamluks then they should not even look east and you have a mega ally until you start looking to fight them.

QQ was my very first EU4 campaign, 7 or 8 years ago. I had an iron frontier to the other superpower, (ofc the Ottomans), and ended up with Persia and only half of the stepps, but it was really fun!
I think of Qara and Aq as being similar. Qara as being the stronger start but harder to expand (Shia generate a lot of AE against Sunni). Aq being the weaker start but have the easiest long term. Also finally you're the first youtuber who didnt go Qoyunlu to Seljuk.
As Ragusa, as is the only dalmatian culture in 1444, convert all the Adriatic to the dalmatian culture

As Ramazan, have Ryazan as a subject (or vice versa)
Vijayanagar means “City of Victory”, so as them win a war against all the big Indian states at once

If you take Timurids as a one province minor, does it make sense to enforce religion then before getting their cores back or after?
I love the "complete the mission tree" challenges, it really shows the flavor each nation has.
When you have one province vassal always force convert. After returning the provinces their loyalty will be back on track.
I loved this country when I played it. I don’t play big nations much and had never played starting Shia. I have converted before for the cb.

Iran is such a fun region to play. My favourite ever campaign was Shiraz. Their ideas are insane for playing tall

As Ragusa, convert to Shinto, become a monarchy and from a PU with France before you convert to shinto
As Regusa, own all of the Regusa, Pest, and Constantinople trade nodes and become the world trade power! I feel Ragusa is in a spot to become the trade power of the area. Maybe as a bonus objective, make Ragusa more valuable than Venice and Geona trade nodes. Would be cool to see lots of wars conducted to take trade power and trade provinces specifically. Don't need to blob and become huge, but more of a tall trade playthrough.
As Ragusa, maybe do a full trade republic roleplay?
Go for the Consulate of the Sea achievement but with Ragusa instead of Aragon with some twists to make it more interesting: conquer all of the coastal Mediterranean centers of trade and estuaries, but you are not allowed to conquer anything else than provinces in Ragusa trade node and provinces on the Coast of mediterranean. As a bonus, as a real naval trade republic, go for the Plutocratic/Naval/Trade/Maritime idea set as your first 4 idea groups in any order and you are not allowed to form Dalmatia or any other country.
Please continue this run! Try to complete the Iran mission tree with the great power base from this one! It would be amazing and I hope you at least think about it

Ragusa, modern day Dubrovnik, is the set for Game of Thrones' King's Landing, so get 7 kingdoms as vassals while staying as an OPM
Ragusa is called Dubrovnik today. They filmed scenes of Game of Thrones there, because of the well preserved walls (the walls of King's Landing). So... have 6 vassals and unite the Balkans?

And at the start syria is already existing thats why you couldn't release them
ragusa is a opm and a Maritime Republics historicaly and in the game you can conquest only center of trade province and defeat the ottomans and conquest all ottomans center of trade vassal is ok

“I don’t care about splendor!” My brother in Mohammed (Peace be upon him), what age did it JUST become? What’s the most powerful age ability in the game? How many other nations are Shia? You should absolutely care about splendor. You had, what, done the “convert 10 provinces” task, and that’s it? 300 splendor is -25% ws cost 8 years earlier.
As Ragusa conquer the cores of Crete and Patiala so you don't forget about them in Releasables.

Since Ragusa starts guaranteed by the ottomans you should return the favor. As Ragusa get the guarantor of peace achievement where you guarantee Russia, france, and the ottomans. Also if you want a funny stretch goal convert to Coptic so you religion color matches your country color
As Ragusa, vassalize Venice and become the largest trade power in Venice, Alexandria, Aleppo, Constantinople, and Crimea.

To add some extra spice to one of the comments: As Ragusa, make Ottomans an OPM and then guarantee them, BUT stay an OPM yourself the entire game (taking land to release vassals is fair game)
You couldve gone horde, to get horde ideas. Then pop the modernized federation to becom a monarchy, then you coud take aristocratic, resulting in insane Cav build rivaling poland.

Just a piece of advice, you could have forced religion on the timirds and possibly Afghanistan when you fought them, would save you some time and give you extra loyalty:)

Qara qoyunlu is a oguz Tribe like the ottomans and aq qoyunlu. So forming persia is like forming ottomans as Byzantine empire. So forming Persia is not a goal for QQ.
your inefficient with your wars causing you to have increased province cost, you should always declare for the highest developed province, it will make it cheaper to take, and when you'r reconquering your vassals cores you should give them the war goal normally by clicking on the map but the rest you should give it to them from the return cores screen in the peace deal, this does two things its cheaper and it lowers your vassals liberty desire and gives them an increased opinion of you for having returened their cores, this only happens if you return their cores from the return cores tab in the peace deal.
