- For all those looking for SIRIUS XM radio, this video is for you. This is an ONYX EZR. It is going into a 2020 Ford F150. This is a dealership install. I do a lot of stuff for dealerships. They brought three trucks out this time. They are all getting the same gear.
These are universal kits for any car. They play on your car either through the auxiliary port, or through a radio station which you can set on any station you want. I like to install them with only the control unit visible. It takes a little more work to hide all the components. But it is worth it. I have done over a hundred in this way and it works fine. Good video! What size wire do you use to go from the adapter to the power source wire?
Not much amperage going through there. I used 16g but really 18g should do.

Thanks. I dont have great gear. And there is always a shop fan blowing, so i have to turn the audio down. But i am working on improving the sound.

If you don’t mind me asking I just bought the factory xm tuner for my 16 and was wondering how much signal loss is they when you put it under the dash like that? Is a ton, little, noticeable? I also live in the south and I know sometimes if you don’t put it on the outside it won’t detect a signal is that still an issue in that spot?
So, i have not had any problems. However, it doesnt mean it will work in every car and everywhere.
Different regions may also have an effect on the out come.
When I do a new car, i test the signal reception before reassembly.
But, once i have done the same model several times, I just verify signal after the job is done

The antennae works under there? They say to put it on the roof. If it works in that spot I would prefer it goes there
The fact is, different cars have different reception issues. In these cars, I have had great success with these devices.
I test the reception before reassembly. And then finish the work.
My understanding is that as long as the antenna gets proper reception from the satellite, you should be good.
I suggest you test on your vehicle before reassembly. The reception would be better on the roof, but not as clean looking. Take function and form into consideration for your install.
As for me. These installs have been working properly for years. No complaints from owners.

You can sometimes find them at autozone, o'reillys, amazon. Female cigarette lighter to 12v adapter.
