It's been a while. I believe there is a unit that does have to remain in it. I can't remember if it's the CD player or the module that goes behind the radio. On some newer vehicles you have to have a module that is related to the radio or the car won't even run. It's weird but thats how it works. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting.

In the end it worked fine. Owner had it for a few more months. The vids were a while ago so I don't remember exactly everything. Best advice, don't use the helicoils that are available everywhere. Use the timeserts. They are a sleeve rather than just a coil. Look for them as timeserts kit. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting

I wasted a bunch of time using the helicoils. Then still had to use the timeserts. I have used the helicoils on other projects, but for this one, don't waste your time aaaannnddd money

Everything should grounded properly. Sometimes there are wires not used on complicated modules. But ground is needed for the stereo. Do you have the time in video where you see it not connected? @@memomakes9453 its at around 8:25 trying to get mine setup but I only have a chassis ground coming from the schosche kit and another chassis ground coming from the aftermarket stereo. That just leaves the GND one

Ok im not seeing which wire is not connected. But it maybe the green one that is for video bypass. Anyway. You only need one ground wire from the car harness or chassis ground for the stereo to work. The aftermarket radio will have only one GND or ground wire. It may say chassis ground. That doesnt matter here. use the black wire coming from the harness to the stereo black wire. Of course you want to test all connections. Dont assume. (disclaimer you know). Check if the stereo starts up. Let me know if theres more you have questions about

@@memomakes9453 radio turned on without the gnd wire connected to anything. Everything works great but the only issue is the steering wheel controlls arent working. I connected both key 1 and key 2 so i dont know what the issue could be. Thanks for the help! Amazing video

My belief is that the geometry changes at the lower height. Though i cannot say it will not work for practical matters with a 4in lift . At some circumstance you may encounter the limits of the travel of these arms may affect the suspension and could damage something. For example the bar may hit the frame when your suspension compresses under load or upward travel. This is just theoretical though. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting

The mpg definitely is not affected. The ride maybe. Usually noticeable differences only happen when you go much higher or much lower. I go for a ride of only a few blocks to check major issues ratling, swaying, pulling to one side. If i notice a major ride change we look to see if anything is wrong or suggest different shocks or struts to improve handling. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting

The brake wire is not the problem for turning on. It is only so the stereo knows if the parking brake is on. It needs ground. Sometimes some video or setting functions wont work. On that stereo you can just connect it to the black wire of the stereo.

Next up is to check with a meter or computer safe tester if you have ground, power and switched power. On the stereo the black wire needs ground. The yellow wire needs 12volt constant power and the red needs 12volt switched power. These three things is what the stereo needs to turn on. Check dor these three things on the stereo connector. Also check the fuse on the stereo. If all these things are present, then you likely have a bad stereo. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting

I believe these wires are for steering wheel controls. If your vehicle has stereo controls on it, you can use these to control the stereo. You do not have to use them for the stereo to work unless yiu have that feature.

Thanks. I actually did a similar device on a Tahoe a believe the same year as yours.......total piece of excrement. I didn't do a video on it because i went through a bunch of crap with tech support and ended up returning it and doing a regular 7 inch double sin stereo. I could not recommend something i dont have experience with. The off brand companies are a dice game. Here is what i can recommend: Any company that is worth doing business with on a pricy device will have a support number as well as email. Even so. Call them up ask alot of questions and ask a very important one: can i return it if i am not happy with it. If you get some good answers from a company let me know and i can give it a second look for you. You are of course responsible for the final decision and the results. Thanks again for the comments

Believe it ir not I had to checkout what you were talking about. So, I didn't cut it to keep the metal intact. The rear dash has actually been replaced. They did an awesome job and I didnt want to prevent the vehicle from being able to be returned to "as new" condition. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting.

Im in el Centro California. And the charge just depends on the work. Some cars can have the exact same thing installed, and yet take longer and thus, it costs more.

I cant remember if they do that. When that function is available, I believe it is a function of the camera. Not the stereo. I could be wrong but, I am unsure. However, if your factory unit did it,. More than likely this will also do it. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting

If the stereo and speakers are already in. And you just need the amp and box, you are looking at about 175 in labor for amp and box. I tipically remove the sub from the box to check polarity and resistance of the coils.

Great that you noticed. Here un the imperial valley we go through terrible heat in the summer. We don't have terrible cold though. I talk to the customer about this vent issue. If they use the heater often, i block the vent. If not, i leave it open so when they use ac in the summer it cools the amp. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting
