- The 'Hot Fuzz' team may have only had to deal with 'just the one swan', but we were recently called out to THREE cases of swans landing on the M25!
As this is the busiest road in the UK, the chances or survival if left alone were very slim. Luckily, Highways England were able to halt traffic just long enough for Simon and Lawrie to come to the rescue!

Quite a few people have been killed by swans. They've also been known to kill dogs and other animals. They're mean, vicious, territorial, and very strong.
They are tougher than ballerinas lead you to believe.
Always gotta' love how the British are so non chalant about things. XD

Here are some basics about swans:
Myth: They are gentle, elegant creatures often associated with fairy tales, princesses, etc.
Reality: They are the wild cousin of the goose and can sometimes be as mean as a hissing feral cat (in their own feathery, flat-billed way).
True dat. Except that they're worse than a feral cat. Swans can and do attack (and pursue) humans..
Simon was on television a week ago in the States, on a show called "Right this minute". I hope it will bring in more donation's. ☮💕

When the swans hiss at Simon, I giggle at little.
The swans have a death wish! If I was the highway agency guy, I wouldn’t take on an angry swan 😂😂 I love the fact they shut one of the major 🇬🇧 UK motorways and shout at everyone else. Maybe take him to the Scottish islands 😂

Hats off to all the kind people who rescue animals, treat them with respect and release them into their natural habitat. Its heartening to note that such people, still do exist. There are loads of people out there who are extremely cruel to these lovable creatures. May they be richly blessed. 👍🙏

The fact that they have to use hooks and special swan bags to recapture swans that have done runners only goes to show what kind of troublemakers those graceful and elegant birds really are.
Now you know where the hissing noise sound effect for xenomorph came from in the Aliens movies

I love that the police stops the traffic.. That could be learned over here.. I dont know how many foxes that are killed every year.. But its not few :(
Where do you live? In Germany they stop traffic on the highway for animals. Hell, if it's a dog or a mama duck with babies they are close to calling the military. lol

It could cause a serious accident also the queen owns all the swans. :)
Sadly, we still have a lot of wildlife casualties on our roads. Urban foxes here only have an average life expectancy of 18 months, and that's due almost entirely to roads :(

I like that the road workers tried to blocked the swan in by the side of the roadso to speak to keep it out of the road

Stopping highway traffic just to rescue a swan. I don't police in any country would even bother. And then gets relocated. This swan is so lucky.

I wondered why Simon wasn't in this release, but then I figured he let the angry ones for his number 1 assistant to deal with. Y'know, for experience ;) it's so funny to see how he picked up so many of Simon's mannerisms! Lawrie's vert lucky, he is such a great role model and I wish I could work with him daily like that!
