- Simon was called out to a swan that had been struggling to walk. Upon rescuing it, he discovered a giant lump underneath the foot. Far too complex a case for Wildlife Aid at the time of filming, Simon brought the swan to an expert who got to work on seeing whether or not the swan could be saved...

Simon's new side hustle: Dating agency for swans :D
All part of the service lol.
Spot on 😂
I know when the vet sees you show up, he instantly thinks "what animal are you bringing me this time around"
Certainly could be anything!
@@wildlifeaid Mammoth.
The swan healed faster with Simon's soothing words of encouragement, I'm sure.
Simon is such a Good Man. He easily could have said no to the surgery. But he said yes, we’ll help her.
We're very lucky to have such skilled vets volunteer their time and expertise!
@@wildlifeaid That is amazing that he took such care and was so careful with an animal he's not used to working on. Just great to see that there are still some who will give of themselves for the betterment of the world.
it was worth a try to see how it goes, wasn't it
@@xaraxania yes but there’s also the cost, complications with any surgery, and the Dr saying he didn’t think it was necessary.
@@02337755 "Not necessary" - maybe so. It's all a balance of several factors and the main one has to be the quality of life for the animal.
I think the quality of life for two swans there went up 200 and 100% respectively !
I'm very ill at the moment and hospital trips have been made a lot better by Simon's shushing of swans and various iterations of "I'm very fed up!". Thank you all at Wildlife Aid for all your wonderful work! 💖
So glad our videos are enjoyable for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery back to full health :)
Are you better now? I don't know how I missed this lovely video.
@@sophierobinson2738 I'm much better now, thank you Sophie! These videos are still a great comfort to myself and my loved ones :)
No wonder they made a ballet about swans! Their little dance at the end was so graceful!
It was indeed :)
Wow, one stop shop for healing and then match making. Well done Simon and everybody involved. This was so beautiful to see. Poetry in swans.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
The True Romance music at the end... so beautiful. 😭🥺
A lovely ending to the story!
That was so wonderful to watch, the swan lake ballet at the end. Thank you Simon for your huge big generous heart!
Know that you matter to me a great deal. Greetings from Silicon Valley, California.
Awww, that ending :) And how Simon made sure she had a cosey nest. Great job everyone.
Thanks Annika!
She was remarkably calm - I think she knew that she was being helped... she even didn’t object when Simon called her a”good boy”!
This is the only kind of love story I want to see.
This is the best rescue by far.
What a rescue and what an ending! My heart is melting when I see someone who takes care of these beautiful birds like that. Real happy ending story like in poems :)
Thank you for watching! So glad you enjoyed the video :)
Until your videos I had no idea how gentle, calm and intelligent swans are. Unless they're protecting their young then the gentle goes away.
What a lovely video!, Simon is totally committed to the animal. So rare to see these days. Thank you. Adrian
Thanks for the support Adrian - glad you enjoyed the video!
I love swans so much! I loved how they did that little dance at the end! Great work!
So do we! Their 'dancing' is always a real treat to see :)
My goodness they are gorgeous birds
Agreed!
No wonder YT kept pushing this video to the top of my queue dispite my searches being more on swans assaulting people and chasing them. ;-) One of the best Wildlife Aid videos of Simon's that i've seen yet. Great job rehabbing and then marrying off this swan!
I Think that is the most nice swan ever... No aggressivity, no bag needed. Just Calm and okay.
Awww this is such a beautiful clip with swans doing the love dance at the end. Simon helped them find love 💛💛💛 sweet.
Thanks for watching!
This Dance of Life was for the man who saved her and he has it on video!
Not just a rescuer/healer but a matchmaker too! lol
5* service for our patients!
Calmest and tamest swan 🦢 of the world. Didn’t even hissed or tried to bit.
A Swan fairytale. Lovely.
Lifesaver, swan cupid. What's not to love here :)
_She_ is a _Good Boy_ . Oh, Simon...🙄
That is, what we love him for 😁😉.
Such a lovely ending. I had never seen swans courting. I'm such a softy I almost had tears in my eyes. Very lovely
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Oh man, that made my day!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is beautiful! I nearly cried with happiness at the end! 🦢💘 you are amazing all you do for animals!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
A swan in water is one of the most beautiful sights
Beautiful
Swan eps are my favs, this one is on the top of my list!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow. Such a beautiful ending.
When Simon said “Hey, swan” in the exam room, she gave a little honk as if acknowledging him. 🙂
GOD KEEP BLESSING YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!
The swan was quick to get up on land and show her new beau how delicately she could walk.
What a magnific bird... Thank you for doing it!
Thanks for the support :)
Ohh my goodness what a super story!! Is it normal that the swan act so easy with Simon and the vet. Just like she knew he want to help her no hissing or clapping with her wings!!.
And the love story while releasing her !!! Its real love at first sight is real yeahhh !!! Love and kiss from the Netherlands
As our previous swan videos will testify, they're not always this relaxed! Thanks for watching :)
You are amazing people. I love you a lot
That is the least agressive Swan I have seen... maybe they become soft when they are in a spot
It was unusually calm!
Sorted indeed. Brilliant rescue.
Wonderful!!!
Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️🌹
Wonderful. Never seen swans dance before. Thanks
Ahhhh. Used to work in a vet clinic. The struggle of trying to pull an area together when you're lacking skin or working with tough skin is real. Kudos to the vet for being able to do it without looking too frustrated!
Lord that dance at the end.... I never got to work with swans, since we were small animal, although I raised a few birds. Sitting in the back of a car with a sleepy swan would be like a dream lol. I'm glad she came out of the anesthesia fine, had good non-cancerous results, and got her own lil happily ever after! The absolute best scenario!
Thanks for watching Elena - glad you liked the video!
You do amazing work to give new life to these beautiful animals. The value of their lives is more vital that cost of care, is truly a noble act of love. Thank you for remining me what is more important in life
Thank you for both your kind words and support :)
The ending was like a beautiful dance, the way their heads and necks moved together in perfect symmetry. A magical sight, thanks to WAF.
Look up Mute swan mating or courtship dance, it goes on a lot longer and is beautiful to watch.
Wow, this is one of the best stories I've seen on this wonderful channel.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Now Simon can add "Matchmaker" to his list of accomplishments.
Swan Duet Was Awesome😍✨✨

Thanks Wildlife Aid teams. 👍
That's what it's all about.
Brilliant !! ♥️☮️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think that you liven up this vet's days. 😀
fascinating rescue
Best job ever
Beautiful ending!
Agreed!
What a fantastic ending
Thanks for watching Richard!
Very cool!!!👍
Thanks Stephen!
I love the swan's beautiful courtship dance ❤
How sweet!
Beautiful conclusion ❤️
Oh my gosh, that ending really got me. This should be a children's novel or something
She was very calm and very beautiful. Though she didn't look too happy to be woken up postoperatively lol.
Beautiful video- beautiful story - so glad the swan was saved and found a mate 😊💕💕
Thanks..
A lovely video , start to finish ✨
Thank you Simon and Wildlife Aid for a bright cheerful watch 🦢💖🦢
Beautiful video. 😁😁
I am in love❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That was a very accommodating swan. Very well-behaved at the vet.
Goose Bumps 🥰🥰😍
Its just a long necked doggo ^^
Wonderful 😘
This was lovely what a beautiful ending!
Agreed!
I'm proud of them
That was amazing
Years ago I found a large cygnet, very subdued by the side of a canal. The cygnet had a huge lump on one of her leg joints. After ringing around we took her to a swam rescue charity. Their vet found that the lump was caused by an air gun pellet. I can't imagine what sort of a person would do such a thing but I hope they're out numbered by the rescuers. Well done Simon, Guy and the team ❤️
Such dedication is stunning. The team is doing an amazing job
Thank you - that's very kind :)
No dislikes. Perfect.
Thank you Annika :)
Can't believe that the swan wasn't fighting to get away. Poor baby. 😥
Beautiful!!!
Beautiful work! Love the ending!
Very nice
God bless 💜
What a well-behaved swan! Did you bribe him, or was he replaced with a swan-model for the filming, leaving the bloody pictures out?
That doctor sounded so calming, I like that.
Not only saving the lady, but match-making, too, looks like you are expanding your service ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
Completely agree, they usually hiss manically if you even so much as walk past them
We can assure you, they're not always like that!
@@wildlifeaid I can assure you that the ones on the river Cam are not that amenable, with or without young, some of them go out of their way to peck you. Many a pecked @rse whilst out punting!
@@wildlifeaid I know, one of my childhood-friends, if you can call it that, was a swan, who did not only let us kids pet him, but came to show of his young every year (His wife was not amused) and teach them how to get grapes and chese (For some reason he realy liked chese) from the guests. But to me it's rare seing them so calm when held by a person.
What a great story. Got a little bit wet eyes at the end😍💜🦢
I may have missed it but was the lump cancer?
Luckily it wasn't cancerous :)
@@wildlifeaid Great news! Thank you for all that you do for the precious animals! 😊
I've lost one budgie to anaesthetic, always terrifies me if I have another budgie that needs an x-ray.
She is still limping. Poor lady. Why did you not record her rescue too? And what if she already had a mate where you found her.
How can I donate (not Patreon)? Live in Norway.
Hi Caroline, there's a range of ways to donate if you visit our website: www.wildlifeaid.org.uk/donate-to-waf/ Thanks for your support :)
The swan was very calm and relaxed with Simon, even riding in the car at the beginning without any visible restraints. I wonder if it has had a previous encounter with Simon and knows he is there to help? Does Wildlife Aid tag or somehow document the animals it helps so they can be recognized in the future?
We don't tag any animals that we rescue. Swans aren't usually this calm, perhaps it knew it was being helped :)
I know this is an old video, but it would be nice to know if they had signets together and if so if any of their offspring is around today.
Sorted 😆❤️
Is riding in back of car legal in UK?
💜💙❤
♥️👍😄
Married at first sight lol.
