  • Watch Gates Wildlife Control humanely remove a family of foxes from underneath a front porch/deck.
After going over the footage for an upcoming presentation I have, we decided to release some never seen before footage of our fox job from April 2019.
To see the first video we made in 2019 click here: • Baby Fox Frenzy | Too ...
To answer the most often asked question...we didn't forget a baby underneath. Mother animals will always return one last time to ensure they retrieved all of their young. Animals can't count like we can, which means they don't even know the number of babies they had in the first place! We appreciate the concern from everyone in the comments.
Please give this video of thumbs up if you enjoyed it!

My grandfather rescued an injured fox, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the 1970s. It took to him, lived with him, and rode in his pickup truck, looking out the back window all the time. After it was healed it took off. Then months later SHE came back with her kits, just to show them to my grandfather. He pet them and played with them for a few hours on his front porch, and then she left with her babies, never to be seen again. She just wanted him to meet her family. She considered him a friend. He's passed away now but that story lives on.

No for me buddy. It takes a lot of time, study and strategy to build or find a den. Trap or not she'll get as much of her babies. What she did for a long time, scuppering and disturbing the ground was a sign of frustration. That she needs to immediately remember where her second best option for a den. She didn't had one. Considering the time she took. Because there are lots of things consider relocating. Competitors, predators and comfort. She thought that after labour she can only focus on finding food to produce milk. That wasn't the case anymore. Now, the real brilliance was how the animal instinct kicked in. She and her pups are made exposed in this side, not very welcoming indeed. Basic and simple...she went unto the other side. Just a guess.

I had a family of nine foxes living under my summer house in Dulwich (south east London) - I found a female cub in the bushes, very young.... She stayed in the garden for years, she recognised my voice (and probably smell) and would come when I called her.... She would wait patiently at the back door every morning to be fed (she really liked ham and her favourite was prawn crackers which were a very rare treat!) and if I didn't appear quickly enough she would jump up and rattle the door handle..... She would bring her cubs to show me every spring for about five years.... There was also a very large, quite majestic looking male fox, clearly the 'daddy' - he wasn't aggressive but I always knew to keep my distance.... One day he appeared with the end of his tail hanging off, it was obviously painful and infected - I crushed some antibiotics into a jam sandwich over the course of a few days and the damaged end fell off, with the infection cleared.... He then would wait in the garden to be fed with the others.... Six months later, he appeared again with one eye missing and a very infected socket - again antibiotics in a jam sandwich and a week later he was as good as new - I named him Cyclops and he became very much a part of my fox family and lived for another seven years.....

I lived in a place in the middle of London for a while and below my apartment was a small area of unused land. The foxes had moved in from the country and set up home in the unused land. The screeches of them mating was very fightening and sounded like Banshees wailing. It was always a great joy to stand on my terrace looking down below on to the unused land where the beautiful fox cubs could freely run about and play without any fear of humans bothering them, sometimes they would spot me from below and give a great curious quizical stare.
On one occasion the young cubs were exploring a nearby garden and one of them got his head stuck in a narrow opening on an old Belfast Sink. The poor little cub couldnt free itself no matter how it tried and the mother was very perplexed by the situation looking around and in myndirection for help and a solution, I tried the neighbours but to no avail and then I phoned the RSPCA and explained the situation. Within 30 mins they sent someone round and freed the cub. I was very pleased with my little part in the rescue op. :-)

Baby animals that have been handled by biologists are usually reunited with their mothers, who do not appear bothered by the biologists’ scent on their young." www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=wildlifenews.view_article&articles_id=426 Add in that this fox was already used to humans a little bit seeing as she had no problem coming around while they were working. Happens. I went to the laundromat once, IN JANUARY, when it was 26 degrees outside. My son's were in elementary school and our only heat was electric. I came home and my landlady had cut my power off and my water. All because someone broke into my home, held me and my boys at gunpoint while his friend robbed us blind, including my rent money and every other penny I had. Making me late on my rent for the very first time.
She couldn't evict me, there are procedures for a legal eviction, but she could leave a widow with two small children and a broken down vehicle stranded in a dark and freezing cold home in the dead of winter.

I'm mostly amazed at how she very clearly removes all the leaves and other noise producing things from around the box to allow her to grab the babies unnoticed. That's incredibly smart.

I thought at first she was trying to undermine the box in hopes that they'd slip out, but now I wonder if that's not to mask her steps. Whatever it is, she's really clever and cautious. Foxes deserve their rep.

She was doing what foxes do, and trying to dig under because the walls are too high to lift them out.

And at first, she did it while they were making noise, then stopped when the noise stopped. Then she did some test noises, and waited to see if anyone came, before doing more digging.

It was obvious that she was digging, think the box sat an empty ground and she thought she can remove them under the barrier. She realized that wasn't possible.
