- The race-ready 2020 Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, powered by the supercharged 354-cubic-inch HEMI V8 engine, is fitted with a T400 3-speed transmission with a Kwik-Shift manual shifter, lightweight driveshaft, front and rear racing brakes, Racetech seats, Racepak Smartwire fully programmable power distribution center and a new, exclusive Drag Pak lightweight wheel and tire package.
Also new for 2020, the Drag Pak hood mimics the design of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, with intake and heat extractors. Front and rear fascias use the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat design.
Construction of the Challenger Drag Pak begins with a standard-width Dodge Challenger Body-in-White (BIW) unibody built at the FCA Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario. An SFI-specification welded rollcage, rated for quarter-mile runs as fast as 7.50 seconds, is integrated into the body.

I think people don’t understand exactly how fast this thing is. It’s over a second faster than the cobra jet 1400. One whole second faster in the quarter. Good job mopar!

@@lol911000 These cars are running in the 7 sec zone. The Drag Pak won the 2018 World Championship and was the 1st to run in the 7s (that car was actually a 10yr old model/chassis). They are currently in the 7.75
@@Boomtendo4tw It's actually needed based on MPH, over 150+mph a Parachute is mandatory in NHRA. Hell you have 10sec Hondas trapping at over 150mph .

Heres a mind blowing fact..
That's almost 2 seconds faster than the quickest quarter mile time ever set by a stock motorcycle, a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14, which recorded a time of 9.47 seconds at 152 mph.
So just let that float in your head. A freaking car that far outweighs a crotch rocket, beat it in a quarter mile by almost 2 damn seconds...wow!!!
maybe i've spent too much of my life at the track but it's not exactly rare to see cars ripping 7s and 8s at the drag strip. Turn key that you can buy? That's rare but plenty of modded stuff has been pulling this off for decades.

Turn key stock? Completely rare / essentially unheard of but that wasn’t the context I was responding to. 🙂

I bet you didn't know that the Dodge brothers who used to work for Ford in the early days were the ones who made the gauges & built the engines for Ford's model T cars until they sold the stock they owned while working for Ford then went on to design & build there own cars & trucks after they left the company . Not many Ford guys even know about this . Also if you ever watch the nitro top fuel cars run those all billet aluminum Hemi engines they are based off of the 426 race Hemi from back in the day but have a few different mods done to the internals so they stay together & alive from the 10,000+ hp they make & this is the only engine that is used in top fuel because Chevrolet Ford or Toyota god forbid they let them run in this class don't have any engine that even comes close to making the HP needed to be competitive in that class which is the Hemi head engine . Even a Chrysler Hemi crank shaft will drop in these modern billet nitro Hemi engines as well as a 727 torque flite will bolt to the back of them because they use the very same bolt pattern as was used many years ago which shows how close these new modern nitro engines are based on the original 426 Race Hemi .
Tesla Plaid runs 8's I don't even want to imagine what the Dodge electric version of the Drag Pak will run, instant torque and it will hopefully have a swappable battery pack to both reduce weight and allow quick changes between races to keep things running at full capacity.

These cars run on a NHRA sanctioned drag strip which used to be 1,320 ft or a 1/4 mile but NHRA shortened the runs to a sanctioned 1000 ft to try to slow the top fuel nitro cars down for safety reasons being those cars are in the sub 3 second 300+ mph runs so this car runs 7.50s with a good driver & proper suspension tune in 1000ft .

I think you are talking about the Helliphant that you could buy from Chrysler but no this engine is different a special factory stock drag race engine with only 50 of these cars built to run against the COPO Camaro & the Super Snake Ford Cobra jet cars that run in the factory drag car classes .

It would be Great to here I’m 1-50 cars to be a owner of so I can race this car not put it away to profit from later but to race it as it should be, I will have to sell my Demon that I race now on most weekends but would in a heartbeat and won’t be asked to slow down because of no roll cage 🤞hope to here something soon

They have been running against the CobraJets since 2009 and the COPO Camaro's since they came out in 2011. The Drag Pak that won the 2018 World Championship/ 1st to run in the 7s was one of the 1st ones built... over 10 yrs ago.

That was not what a 7 second run looks like. The front would have stayed up much longer. The cobra jet, which just did an 8.12 a week ago, had it’s front up for well over 100 feet. Not to mention I counted 8.6 on the run they were showing.

Those cars are also not stock this car is a stock drag car that's meant to run in the stock pro drag class against the COPO Camaro & Ford's Cobra . These cars you are talking about run in the outlaw class where rules are out the window on a lot of things or are these cars you talk about running on a NHRA sanctioned track so a big difference . This car & the cars your talking about are pretty lame compared to the Hemi nitro top fuel cars that do a sanctioned NHRA 1000ft track in 3 seconds at over 300 mph with those engine making over 10,000+ hp .
