Also, in machine, you are able to change the colour of the lights of each sound. Right click on a sound, select colour then the keyboard lights up that colour. This is so useful if you colour all your kicks red, high hats with green lights and snares in blue for example.

On my W7x64pro, I'm still on the last release before the bandlab acquisition and on our W10x64pro machine we're running the current CWbyBL version. Hey... Thanks for the comment...😀 I'm on the latest version I believe its 2021.6... and yes I use the Komplete Kontrol S61 in other DAWs as well... It works well in Ableton and Cubase... And really well in Reaper... The video I just put out making a beat in Reaper I was using it to control the DAW and the plugins it's a great tool.... Let me know if you have questions..😀🙏🏾
thanks for this. It is very useful as always. I followed the instructions. It plays records and so on, but I cannot use the big knob to move the heather as you show when you stop. I also have only 2 button light up on the right: browser and plugin midi. The track button is off so I also cannot do what you show in 18:40. Is there any other stuff I need to set to be able to do hat you show? A related problem. The komplete Kontrol plays the sound preview, but cannot load the synthmaster so I cannot work with those preset. Other instruments are fine. Could you help me in these please? Thanks.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do if it pulls up in Cakewalk you should be able to use it are you looking in your instrument section for the VST or are you trying to pull it up some other way. If you hit the plus sign and the top of the track pain it should be an option for instruments and you should be using Komplete Kontrol has an instrument.

I bought the A25 (the small komplete kontrol keyboard) and followed al your instalation.... but in preferences komplete kontrol midi output is not accepted. how come? I have 2927mb memory but the midi output always jumps back to blanco so I cannot get further. Please help. Fan ................
A series don't have necessary hardware in them to be used as output but it will still work (it works on my A49, you still need to select DAW as output even as the kontrol itself isn't selectable as output... and follow the rest of the tutorial)
Nice video. I was just wondering why you set this up as a Mackie controller and not an ACT controller? I don't have this keyboard but i think i'm going to buy it. Based on previous experience with Cakewalk, if you set it up as an ACT controller, you can use the buttons above the knobs. I've never used Mackie control because i used an A-Pro with Cakewalk Sonar, and ACT control with anything not offering integrated support. So i guess what i'm asking is does using a controller in Mackie control have benefits over using a controller in ACT control?
yes and no... the act doesn't always work and it's hard to setup everything that you want and all the keys don't work in act from my experience.. Mackie is not better but it works for the transport play stop record switch tracks and pretty much that's what I use it for .. the keyboard works so much better with Reaper it's fully integrated I can bring up the mixer change tracks all the transport buttons work for metronome start stop loop midi setup pretty much everything.. I wish Cakewalk would set it up with NI to get this integrated but it doesn't look like this will ever happen.. hope this helps😀
XEL, I'm considering the S88 and the Keylab Essential 88 for my next controller, and found your vid. I wanted to ask, did you ever figure out how to get EVERYTHING on the controller working with cakewalk?
It's not going to control everything... It's not integrated with Cakewalk so it is limited... If you use Reaper then you will have full integration to control the tracks play stop record ...loop even the mixer strait from the keyboard... It's still worth it if you just use it for Cakewalk... You will have the play stop record options and be able to change tracks with the jog wheel but the loop and mixer and other things won't have the option to integrate... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾

Make sure you check the velocity knob in Komplete I know it was a known issue but should have been resolved a while ago... Does it do this for any other vsts?
The reason I use Cakewalk is because I'm used to the workflow. I'm into 6 or 7 tracks within 5 to 10 minutes, building a song. It seems that everytime you are introducing komplete to a new track, you are really introducing a new instance of komplete and not the initial instance using a different library on a different midi channel. Is that so? I wish there was a way I could just use a KK keyboard to quickly audition sounds from the full extensive libraries and then move along to record the track and move to the next track,.
Yes I make a new instance of Komplete Kontrol due to you can only load one thing at a time in it... Kontact on the other hand you can have multi channels open from one instrument and the others can be midi... I can use the Komplete Kontrol Keyboard to scroll through sounds using Komplete... Let's say I use 6-7 tracks like you said I can use the keyboard and scroll through sounds and use the jog wheel or the option to choose what Komplete track I am on from the keyboard .. the keyboard works better in DAWs that are supported by NI but you can get by with it in Cakewalk hope this helps... Let me know if you have questions...😀🙏🏾

Ok you will need an audio interface that has a line in so that you can go from the out of the keyboard into an interface that is connected to speakers ... A keyboard controller like the mpk mini is just going to play what's in the DAW you would setup vsts for this .... It does not require you to have an output line due to it does not make sounds... I hope this helps .

Ok.. you will need to make sure you have Komplete Kontrol 1 selected in the devices in Cakewalk and the Komplete Kontrol DAW like in the video... Once you have that setup add a vst... Like TTS1... And you should be able to see and hear the midi....
The setup that I have now works better than the one on the site currently... And you don't have to add other things to make it work.. so right now my method is a little easier and works better than the ACT that the site said to use... But thanks for the info...😀🙏🏾

@@XELOhh1 Just found out that it was due to my pitch bend. I had to push the bend up once, so as to revert it to normal
