    Really well documented, thank you for providing torque specs, fill specs, everything. Will make doing this job on my own MK7 much easier.

    Another great VW golf video. Your service video helped me tremendously.
    I’m sitting at 86K miles on my golf the now. I’ll make a point of changing the gearbox oil at the weekend.

    Good clear video - with well-presented technical specifications for 'other variations' of the gear box.
    Well done for this clear video!

    Again - thanks for the clear and concise instructions. About to do this on my Touran 2.0 TDi with the 02Q six speed.

    Thank you. I identified my Leon ST FR's gearbox model cause I know I need 2,3 L

    Great work and filming! A very much DIY job for sure. Looking for a DSG video of the same caliber now as I might buy one. Garage prices are no joke with A/T servicing, some are reluctant to even engage in it. Had to twist Volvos arm _and_ fork out a small fortune on top of it. Does take 12L of oil so there's that.

    I wanted to ask you why some tutorials I've seen recommend locking the gearbox with the lever located near the selector? and they advise against filling with new oil from the level cap, but from the reverse gear sensor cap?
    Thank you
    I'll could get them wrong but I think I've understood this.

    Thank you! Going to try and do this on my B7 TDI blue motion 2013 Passat... no idea what oil it takes though!

    Torque spec, Turn it until you hear it crack, back it off half a turn, give the job to the apprentice.

      Then have an angry customers busting your balls to no end, where the garage ends up paying for a complete front axle brake restoration 😁
      Or my former employer getting his Volvo FH back with _no_ oil in the gearbox at all. €20,000 mistake whops 😵‍💫

    Hey, thank you very much as usual for your very informative and beneficial videos! Have you ever replaced your water pump yet during your ownership? If yes, when do they usually need replacing (in terms of mileage or age etc.)?

      Hey, thanks for watching. I tend to get the cambelt and water pump done at the same time. Every 60,000 miles or 4 years whichever comes soonest. That’s the Haynes manual recommendation. Some would argue that this is OTT but I’d say better safe than sorry 😊

    Why everyone keep saying need 10mm hex socket, ? on my golf 7 its 17mm hex socket, 5 gear manual.

    Very informative videos, would it be same oil for the Diffs oil change on a mk5 r32

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  2 місяці тому

      Thank you! I’d imagine it’s a different oil in the diff. It will be worth getting a Haynes manual or join a Facebook group for the R32 :)

    Hi,great video,btw can you help me?This oil 75w gl4 is good for a 1.2 polo 2010?And how i know how much liters i need?In the manual i didn't see gearbox oil type or capacity.

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  6 місяців тому

      It’s a grey area with Volkswagen as to which oil is recommended. I would suggest getting a Haynes manual for your model or join a Facebook forum and ask the question there. It’s more than likely the 75w like I used in the video.

    Hi. I have a VW Golf 1.2 petrol Bluemotion, 2013. Can you give me the spec for the gear box oil I need for my car? Thank you

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  3 місяці тому

      Hi, most use the 75w gear oil but worth checking the manual to make sure.

    Did the car being on an angle effect to draining and refilling, or is it best for the car to be level?

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  2 місяці тому +1

      Best done on a level ground definitely but if you follow the exact capacity for the gearbox it doesn’t make a difference :)
