Nice 👍👌. I've done it on my Seat Leon 20vt, 2 months a go. The gears are much smoother than before. Wainting for the winter, to check that the 1st and 2nd gear are smoother when the engine is still cold. I've filled the new oil from the engine bay, by using the gravity with a vertical hose and a funnel at his end. 2,3 l for my engine and a very specific socket for the 2 bolts (xzn/12 pans with a necessary hole in the middle). As usual, it would be better to begin by making loose the filling hole bolt before the draining one, to avoid any bad surprise and being blocked after draining is achieved 🙂 Keep on these nice vids 👏
Yes mate I’m waiting to see what winter will do to 1st and second aswell. Never the less for what it costs it’s a no brainier to have the fluids changed in there. Thanks for watching bro🤜🏽
I'm now tempted to do this myself. My car has around 218k on it, I bought it when it had 175k, and I highly doubt the transmission's oil has ever been changed on it. I noticed that sometimes when I shift into reverse for example, it feels like it doesn't engage all the way like it gets stuck halfway through the gate. So I put it back in neutral and shift it back into reverse again where it will then fully engage; so maybe a transmission oil change is in order. Regardless, the beauty of manuals is there is no risk to doing a transmission flush, whereas in an automatic there is, depending on if the fluid was changed regularly or not. Anyways, well done on the video :)
Right now my mk4 5 speed golf definitely needs a flush. I'm having to replace my throw out barring (doing also clutch and fork, maybe the flywheel.) I'm going to put a magnet next to the oil to see if it'll pull or not (Mostly Will).
So it's safe to change the transmission fluid on a 200k+ manual transmission that's never been changed before? I've been looking for the answer to this everywhere!
@@Tellin08 Do it! I actually got around to finally doing it and nothing went wrong whatsoever. Manuals are much simpler in their design as it's literally just a box of gears with oil running in between the gear teeth. The worst that could happen is you'd feel no difference whatsoever, but it's still probably good to change anyways since the fluid is probably worn out and dirty anyway.
Top tip……make sure your top plug will move before draining the oil. If it’s seized and you’ve drained the oil, you’re screwed! Got a quote from a local garage to change the gearbox oil. £100 labour, plus the oil!

Hi from greece.. I have one question.. I have one bmw e36 1997 1600 ..102ps..what oil l must put in... Atf or valvoline..
Hi Mate, I’m not sure on your car. If it’s automatic then it would be ATF recommended for bmw. If it’s manual you would need to check this with your bmw dealer.
How many litres does it take
Two litres was more then enough for my car mate.
Where are you from mate?

Hey, why was the old tranny fluid dark? I had the same with mine although a totally different car.
I thought the same thing mate, not sure if that’s age or the older fluids being made in that colour.
