I recently saw a video of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards playing a killer acoustic cover of "Honky Tonk Women." The Open G chord riffs that Keith hits are a masterclass in rock-n-roll rhythm, and you can hear the influence of Chuck Berry in those chunky, double-stop riffs. For this arrangement, I wanted to keep that vibe, but add in the vocal melodies with the guitar slide, to take it back to the Delta!

As a 60's guitarist, you can guess I played this brilliant song many times. However, this is something else. Justin captures all of the nuances from the vocals and the instruments on one guitar - AMAZING!

The original was raw, rocky and bloozy sexy as only the young Rolling Stones could be. This is super slinky, heart warming sultry and groovy sexy in a whole new way! 💖

Just don't forget that the original was actually the country version of this song - they recorded Country Honk before Honky Tonk Women. I love both versions and Justin's is awesome as well.

This is literally what I’ve been dreaming of hearing. Acoustic, resonator, slide, finger picking and guitar slapping. Getting the twang and the percussion and the bourbon out of the instrument all at once is really mesmerizing.
Not many people can take a great song and make it even better.. Mr. Johnson is one of those rare musicians…. Truly gifted!

Think I really must disagree with you on that mat. This version is a really clean well thought out piece of music well executed , and certainly the best cover of the song I have heard, and I am 72 so heard a lot of them over the years.
