- Опубліковано 9 кві 2015
- This video from our Live Outside series features two musicians who first met through our "One Love" song around the world. We reunited Keb' Mo' and Mermans Mosengo during a recent event in Los Angeles and this slow, bluesy version of "Honky Tonk Women" was born. They are accompanied by the California Feetwarmers along with Kevin Moore Jr. on drums. This music is live, in the moment and made especially for all of you!! Share the love and together we change the world one heart and one song at a time.

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

I'm 70 and home bound. You guys are some of the best I've seen and heard ever, and I've heard a lot. Great comfort to my soul, thank you.

75 and absolutely love it, great way to start the day......
You appreciate good music. I'm like that too.
Taking jazz back to its New Orleans roots.
Actually, Memphis. But similar.
The 40 seconds between 4.50 and 5.30 must surely be the finest piece of New Orleans jazz you will ever hear.
this is the blues done Dixie style God I love this1
Whoever didn’t like this has no soul. How can you not let this speak to you?
Oohh oooh
There are some psychopaths in the left wing that think white and black people should be separate and some psychopaths in the right wing that wear hoods and think the same thing. Idk how someone could be more worthless than to think these things.
Keb Mo never fails to bring a smile to my face. He's he reason I discovered Playing for Change. 2 treasures for the price of 1. 😍🎶🎶
The smiles from the guys in the band, the happiness, the sheer joy of every second, waiting for every note, loved it loved it loved it
Listen all day ever day brilliant.
@@michaelpower4372Well, He starts out constipated. But things finally get movin.
This is the down south version..pure soul& blues.👍💞🧞♀️☮
I love Keb Mo and now I love Mermans Mosengo. If you are into blues music, this is beautiful.
The singers “sell it” with their delivery, comes from the heart.
this is genuine "hand-made" music; it doesn´t get better than this. RESPECT
Wonderfully soulful-all together now- sing
Yes, New Orleans style
I agree, this is a another great cover from playing for change!
I'm A VA boy.and back in 1969 we had bands playing in our backyards, DAM Good BAND, keep playing.😅😂🤣🎉🌟🎶🎵💯🎥
Not a native New Orleans person, but my appreciation of the music there is unbounded. I go to visit at least once per year and Holy Shit, please play this at my New Orleans inspired funeral.
A thousand thumbs up. This version kicks some slow ass. Never tired of listening to it again and again.
Great work
Good. Is. Good. 💕
Love that phrase 'kicks some slow ass'
@@fenzco2139Hahaha. He starts out constipated. But things finally get movin.
..one of the slowest smoothest funkiest most diverse truly enjoyable blu-siest grooves I have ever heard in my entire life..
Just love Kevin Moore. "she tried to take me upstairs for a ride," love it.
Otherwise known as Keb Mo!!!
This station always brings a smile and happy tears
Playing for Change is WHAT the World NEEDS . ! . Thank you ALL ! ! !
I could listen to music like this all day long.
That's EXACTLY how this song should sound!
This is friends hanging out having fun playing, the best music 🤘 it’s like being with family and friends listening to music, party, good times and experiences. That’s what the key to life is, experiences with family and friends to remember. It’s not money and materials.
Anybody that says this sucks, or no good or whatever nonsense, just doesn’t understand music. It’s that simple. To any true music aficionado, this is gold...
Obviously the 1.4k thumbs 👎🏻 think there is only 1band in the world that is worth listening to 🤔😵
That group Playing for change is outstanding listen to them do Stand Bye ( Grandpa Elliot) is a BOSS !! Anybody that don't like there music has got a dead soul!!
DAVID WILLIS THERE APPEARS TO BE UPWARDS OF 60 VIDEOS, ALL KINDS OF MUSIC WITH MUSICIANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. WITH ALL THE SHIT THESE DAYS, THESE VIDEOS ARE A GREAT REMINDER OF THE HUMAN SOUL. I HAVE YET TO FIND EVEN ONE VIDEO THAT I DONT CARE FOR.

@@davidwillis4321 My most favorite band!
nailed it - Bourbon street style - rocking to that in Scotland
Hello Scotland 😂
I dug Keb Mo 20 years ago and I still love him. Something about that voice...
Man does this hit the spot. Beautiful people making sweet music together is the greatest thing ever
The kind of music you want to sit on the porch on a summer afternoon and listen to with friends. Maybe after having a cookout with some ice cold beer. All the way through sunset, dusk and until the street lights come on (cicadas giving a little back up)
@@Zenarama1 ah bliss
These guys can play in my backyard anytime. Free drinks. Love it.
Can I come too?
@@mariansinn LOL!! I'll pick you up on the way .... Got the beer ETC !!
@@dilwyn1 take me too! I'll bring the jar o' limeade & ham biscuits & horseshoes.
@@lizafield9002 LOL!! OK your on .... But what are we going to do with the horseshoes!!! ???
If you invite me... I ll bring the flowers..
This is the music that inspired The Rolling Stones and British Music invasion of the 60’s and 70’s . Awesome rendition!
Keb' Mo's voice is steeped in soul deep down to his core
Mermans that was so good piece of advice stay away from big footed boy,if you trip over them damn feet you won't walk again!!!!
Playing For Change is the best.
The Stones are my only band of the last 55 years but this version is world class. The Glimmer Twins would be proud. 🤣❤️🇦🇺🌟🌟🙏🙏
music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome the differences that divide us
Watching Mick Jagger strut’ down the street to this would bring me great joy!
Yes, indeed!!! Love this music! 🥰
Much thanks to all of my musician friends around the world for your contributions, this is the best project ever.
If anyone has heard PAINT IT BLUE- songs of the Rolling Stones-
Keb'Mo' recorded this almost 10 years ago! of course he didn't have the California Feet Warmers backing him up like this! Great version. I'M SURE KEITH WOULD APPROVE! GREAT SONG!
This might be the best playing for change ever
Kevin Moore!!!! So much beautiful FUNK 😍
Pure joy. If heaven exists, this is the music Lord wants to hear!
Suddenly this is all I ever want to listen to, ever again.
Can’t stop playing it either...
This IS America. Thank you for this. God bless us all. I'm smiling.
Their enjoyment is infectious.
I love the “Playing for Change” concept. And these guys are Outstanding!!!!
Also keep watching this, so good, especially when the horns blend in with the jazzy sound, seems very spontanously, band starts laughing and I also everytime I listen and watch it!
Thats a great version. Taking it back to the blues from which it came from.
I can't help it, this song is my very favorite in Playing for Change! Thank you so much for cheering us all!
That trombone though!!! 😁😎 I smiled the entire video 😂😂 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Man, is this New Orleans or what !!!!!!!!!!
What a great group !!!!!!!
Am I imagining things, or is that Todd Burdick on sousaphone? - and are they playing in Shaye Cohn's backyard?
its Kentucky spirit..
The initial singer is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Keb Mo is just fantastic!
Sitting here sipping on Weller's and listening for the 4th time. What a fine evening this turned out to be.
brother, a friend in need is a friend in need ... let me get a swig of the same if not in person then in spirit... a fine evening w/ no care in the world is hereby seconded!
Breathtaking ... pure soul
It doesn't get any better than this!
Good to see Keb' Mo" doing this, he has become a big favourite of mine
That is not Keb' Mo. What a great song though.
Don't wanna leave. Just makes me smile for a mile and longer than awhile!
The Stones started in blues but never took it to this level. Brilliant! And that's no exaggeration in this instance.
THIS is what I think heaven is
I love the early Rolling Stones blues.
@@katfisch7119 have you heard their first album? It's blues. I agree they weren't Muddy Waters, but it was still blues. There are different types of blues. That's something you should know if you know about blues.
@@katfisch7119 correction: influenced by blues. By your definition, every work of art is a copy
They also did a blues covers album in 2016 which is pretty good!
OMG !!!!! what a beauty !!!!!!
I love how they all seem to enjoy this so much... Keb Mo dancing in the beginning always brings a huge smile to my face! :)
MY god the right guitar players' singing gave me goosebumps!!!!
Keb' Mo
This cover is next level, culturally sound music!!
Another reason to absolutely love Playing For Change. Fantastic!
Just discovered them today. Better late than never! :)
Music is the one unification for the human race!
Keb knows what he is doing.. choosing the best musicians.. !!!!!!!!!!
I was in NO early 70's, Bourbon St. and Royal, French Qtr..Some of the best music I ever heard, jammin'. No haters, this is just my personal opinion, this is how this song is meant to
be played. I love the Stones, but to me, this song was really meant for these great musicians. Lovin' it doesn't even begin to cover it for me. Great memories, thanks guys.
There's music like this in my home town all of the time.
A cool thing to see is some teenage boys playing 5 gallon buckets on the streets and actually collecting money.
@@jimvincent4136 If you don't mind me asking, where are you from mate? I'd love to go to your hometown and enjoy this awesome music
I love this version, but the Stones did this song perfectly and it is their creation. It was meant for them.
The Brits made rock great thru r&b
Amen Brother!!
Many thanks from Nova Scotia
Keb' Mo You are absolutly great .
could listen to this music 24/7
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !
This is pure New Orleans vibe.❤️
That ...is... pure!!
A rare moment that for once i say.... thank you internet!!
The talent, the irony, the cool!! My love for this one grows with every listen
I love the smooth melding of the rock and the New Orleans jazz styles. Pure genius.
Live music! Ain't nothing like it!❤
Handmade and simply excellent! Thanks and greetings from Bavaria, Germany
So laid back and bluesy, great rendition of this Stones classic. Just need some beer and bbq and an afternoon of this with friends. Nothing better. Thanks Guys lets have some more.
Amen!
Made me smile :-)
Dig it.
Or a table covered with newspapers and piled high with boiled shrimp, crawfish, corn on the cob, new potatoes and some oysters and cole slaw.
"I guess that's you call it the blues".
Magic song with greats musiciens. I like, it's fine. Thanks guys.
SO MANY INSTRUMENTS IN HARMONY THAT IT MAKES ME THINK MUSIC SOOTHES THE SAVAGE BEAST THANK YOU GUYS
Damn....wished I lived next door to these guys!
6 and a half minutes of smiling from ear to ear. Thanks.
I’ve only just discovered this a few weeks ago and I have to watch every time it comes up. Absolutely love mermans singing on this particular song. I am forever a fan of him and others that I m discovering!!!
so much fun, can you imagine living next door and hear that
Puts the Stone to shame. Great version.
Yeah man, off the charts boys, gold as it gets
This is the way Honkey Tonk Women should be done!!! Awesome job
This is joy moment!
Anyone who listens to these gentlemen play and hit thumbs down on this should have their hearing checked, if this doesn’t bring a smile to your face watching and listening to these guys have fun and make great music shame on you
Or you're dead already
Or maybe have their brain checked--if they have a brain. However, they might be brain dead already.
I shared this with a bunch of friends and family. If this performance doesn't make you smile, ain't nothin gonna make you smile
Maybe their smile is broke or their smiler is broken?
This is by far the smoothest rendition of this song ever!!! The honky tonk woman really got to the opening singer haha. Simply love the sounds that come out - every instrument in perfect harmony and effect, Well done you guys!! from South Africa.
Outta this world!
goose bumps on top of goosebumps..listened to this hundreds of times...still get goosebumps..over the top magical..voices, musicians, instruments a big WOW..!1!
This is how I see America.
Tough times ahead. Listen to this song. You'll feel better.
Peace to you....

Nothing better than this !!!!!
Nothing !!!!!
Do you ever sell grass seat tickets. What a dream that would be. I do hope before I leave this earth I will be able to see/ hear keb mo live. HUGE Fan . I listen all day, every day. Never get tired. extraordinary talent with heart and soul. # 1 in my book. Your talent is very appreciated. All of you. Thank you for sharing
😊😊I'm very pleased to know I'm not the only one that loves the song but when last did you played it.
The very song, is the song of others in faith, we all live with faith!
Love is what comes to my soul ! 💚🙏💚
They are free people, you could hear that, and that is best of it. Whenever you see or hear somebody with free mind, it´s medicine for you and you could be a medicine for someone else. Lovely choice of music, played briliantly...
Well said
no more words...
Mesmerising, the singer on the right evokes Ray Charles so much it hurts. Thanks mates!
There's only two kinds of music, good and bad....this is good.
ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh (repeat 12) Hmm... was glad to get to the song
I cannot get enough of this version of the song..it is a totally different level of brilliant!
it strips the song down to its blues roots. stones were a bar-hopping blues band before
they had their 1st single ( a lennon-mccartney ).
Put it on the loop, I am gong.for all night
always amazed at how a solid bunch of musicians can simplify the music, and yet still inject so much passion and soul into the rendition.
Loved this- so much New Orleans essence in it.
Dixieland, reminiscent of New Orleans parades. Thanks so much PFC
Sweet …greetings from 😊 Ireland.
Heaven on earth. the blues professor says so.
