Nov 14 1966 -- Muhammad Ali v Cleveland Williams, Houston, Texas., TKO 3 Muhammad Ali retains his WBC Heavyweight title with this classic knockout of Cleveland Williams.
Have you ever seen a Heavy Weight Boxer with Lightening Fast Speed....? Only ALI is the answer... Greatest of All Time in Boxing history. We always remember you as a Greatest Boxer and A Humble Man.
I’m a Frazier fan but there is no doubt in my mind that Ali in his prime , at his best and taking the fight SERIOUSLY would beat any boxer/ fighter alive , past or present . He was unbelievably good , had a great chin , a fantastic jab , incredibly fast hands , great footwork and probably the best defence of all time . Not to mention his combination punches which were so quick and effective . No one to equal him . And when he really wanted too and had the bit between his teeth he knew how to stay away from the heavy punchers and drain the life out of them slowly but surely . Yep , at his best I’m sure he would beat any fighter alive . That’s one of the reasons I admire Joe Frazier so much . He gave Ali two of the hardest , toughest fights he ever had . But there is no doubt , Ali is the greatest of all time . Such a wonderful athlete to watch . No one will ever come close to him .
Ali displayed his nonpareil skill against Williams, but "Big Cat," as Williams was known, had just one kidney after being shot in '64 by a racist Texas State Trooper.(The more things change.....) The prime Williams was a murderous puncher who in '59,lost a three-round slugfest to Sonny Liston ,and Williams, then 66,was the victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident Sept.3,1999. I was a 13-year-oid ninth-grader (first high-school year here in Canada) when this bout occurred .
I know this may seem hard to believe, but Dick Young, a long-time sports columnist in New York, wrote that Ali's opponents went down in the ring because they were told they would be harmed by Ali's Black Muslim supporters if they didn't. That was the level of a lot of the commentary on Ali back then. Ali's style was so unusual that some commentators thought his punches couldn't possibly be hard enough to knock a man down.
@smokinlefthook Yeah but as you can see... Williams was proven medically fit to fight, and earned his way to be the number 1 contender by beating other fighters. Williams was fast , powerful , and very dangerous. But Muhammad Ali is the greatest ! George Forman was 24 when Ali knocked him out ! Foreman went the distance with Holyfield at over 40 years of age. Ali is the only man to KO foreman and Oscar Bonavena.
In many ways my brother :D I like escapology...Money's good to watch. Ali and Tyson have character. Tyson said things in a way that got him mocked but he's deep.
@hailruaidhri Maradona was disappointing and shamed in 2 world cups and cheated in another. Not even 2nd best footballer. Ali #1, Pelé #2, then a group with Federer, Jordan, Phelps, Owens, Merckx, Armstrong, Lewis, Gebrselassie, Bolt...
I am a big Ali fan but Boxers dont Fight often Enough to be called the Best Athletes ever. Ali only had 61 Fights in his whole career. P4P Sugar Ray Robinson was Greater than Ali and if their is a Boxer here it should be him.apart from that this a good list even though Laver is by far the best Tennis player of all Time.but both played a long time ago so it can be hard to Rank them because Many have not even heard of Jabbar or Laver or have little knowledge on them.i dont think Jordan was better than Jabbar or Wilt but he is up their in the Elite Group no less than Top 5 certainly i think Top 3.
@@woody46338 bro Ali is the greatest athlete of all time. Quality over quantity. Do research with that mindset and you’ll come to know the truth which should’ve already been obvious. Hint: Ali was gifted by God to be the greatest sportsman of all time.
Ali was plenty fast and smart in the ring. Certainly not the hardest puncher though. Especially in later years his fights would go on round after round with inferior fighters.....Ali just lacked the top end power to put them away.
ali looked good in this fight but at the time cleveland williams wasnt in the best condition about 6 weeks before this fight he was shot in the stomach with a 357 magnum and almost died and had alot of his intestines removed.williams wasnt even a quarter of his ability in this fight
Prime Williams would not beat this Ali , Williams won 10 bouts after this so he might not have been at his best but he wasn't done by a long shot.get it long shot.i just did research and it wasn't 6 weeks it was in 1964 when he was shot so he had some time to heal.
I could barely see those punches,Williams almost certainly didn't,either.Heavyweight power, lightweight hand speed, that's why Ali was "The Greatest." RIP,Ali and "Big Cat" Williams!!!!
Sorry! I thought you said "I take it that Ali is the greatest", but you said "They take it that..." Which changes the statement and yeah yeah...they do, that's why they feel bitter.
Watch Muhammad Ali v Ernie Terrell. Terrel had reach and height over Ali and Ali also nullified Listons jab ONE OF THE best in boxing history. But Ali has THE best jab. As well as being the greatest fighter. God gifted. 💯
@@ConflictsComing nope if anything only then was I watching and decided to check out comment section proper. And also it still stands that Williams felt those punches so don’t chat.

How did you view Ali during his prime? If you ever see this. And sadly Williams had some real harsh experiences which is saddening.
Pure artwork, Ali in his prime, gotta be my favourite Ali fight of all time even though i was -17 at the time!
Haha I’m 17 now. How was Ali’s presence at that time? If you ever see this😂
Even though he outmatched them, Champ never abused an oppnent. Heart even bigger than his unparalleled talent.

I would actually be lucky to dodge ONE punch . look at the speed, damn =.=!
Neither of them threw a body shot…Savage!
It's a Frazier fan...'smokin' the hook'...they always turn up on Ali videos to diss him...it's the jealous trait they share with their hero.
Ali would’ve beat Frazier easily in prime
Why is this video being fast forwarded?
Haha. This is actually normal speed bro. 😂😂
RIP champ...
Damn. Did Williams call him "cassuis" or something? That looked a lot like punishment.
Cleve got stung by The Bee. Yow!
And sadly slipped on the slippery canvas while allowing Ali to float to victory. Haha.
Prime Ali beats most if not all heavyweight boxers 2 out of 3 times period.. Williams was shot in 64 not 6 weeks before this bout.
Prime Ali beats all
its a shame that they took him three and a half years. he loast some of his speed after the exile and never dance like that again
Yh man really sad he would’ve been undefeated for sure 100%
Exactly. We never saw this Ali again after that exile.
ali takes, i think a total of 4 punches.
We’ll compubox says 10 in whole fight but I’d think even lower.

Williams supposedly did that to himself by calling Ali "Cassius Clay". Not a wise move.
Really?🤷🏻♂️
I am not certain, but I think it was Zora Foley who did that - - and Ali shouted repeatedly "what's my name?" during their bout.
