Another great video 👍 I was looking at this scooter as an upgrade for my daily commuter, found your channel and watched all and purchased 3 weeks ago! Fantastic scooter, got baptised to Northern Ireland weather today after 3 weeks sunshine lol!! Thank you for videos and advice, keep enjoying your scooter 😎
currently just went through my 6k myself in just under 18 months (been on some rather long rides 150 miles of so) and had no real problems except the rollers and sliders got chaneged today on the 3rd serevice, and before that i needed to change the rear tyre for something with a bit harder rubber as within 4000 miles (the rubber was nearly smooth on the rear wheel) so i would suggest something like Bridgestone Battlax SC tyres as decent replacement tyres.
Perfect for city living. No real point in getting anything bigger with all the traffic lights and roadworks. The fact its automatic is a big plus. Definitely something I'd ride if i lived in an urban environment. Held up well on the trip down to the Borders too. Only thing that would worry me is leaving it given the current level of bike crime in central Edinburgh. Puts me off riding into the city which is something I'd like to do in the summer.
Couldn’t agree more with your comments re the bike, it’s a great city machine and can still cope well with longer trips. I’ve had scooters in Edinburgh for many years now and only ever had one stolen. That was a long time ago and my own fault entirely for naively buying cheap locks and chains, a hard lesson learnt, never scrimp on security.
Thinking of buying one, what sort of top speed does it have? I use dual carrigeways and my current scooter will sit at 55 ok but i do get lorries up my chuff😂
Hi, @Scottish Zoomer is the windshield any good or more a design feature? I am in the look for a 125 and I am doubting between this one and the Piaggio Medley 125s the Piaggio looks ok same engine but a bigger under the seat room and driving is ok with the bigger front wheel also costs 5-600euros less than the aprilia. Very difficult decisions, will be used for going to work and some longer road trips.
Hi, I would guess the windshield is more a design feature. I have a friend who has the 200cc version of the bike and he bought a large Givi screen which works well. I’m not a big fan of screens so quite happy with one that is more for looks than real practical purpose. I like the GT, it has decent road presence and handles very well. I use it for city riding snd the occasional longer trip, it’s great for both things. On top of that the styling is just a bit more modern than the more standard scooter look, although obviously that’s down to personal taste.
@@chrisedwards6972 I’ve had a PCX and they are great bikes backed up by Honda reliability, but I prefer the riding position and handling of the SR GT. I don’t use mine for long trips but I see no reason why it wouldn’t work well, it’s been a very reliable bike, I use it all year round almost daily. It’s now in its third Scottish winter with no issues at all.
@scottishzoomer I think il get the sr gt then I like the look of it more tbf I also live in Scotland when it's cold it's cold thanks for the advice. Ride safe
@@chrispaxton8532 well the manual states 600 miles first service so I’d get it booked in at the dealers (unless of course you are planning to do it yourself)
Yes, when I removed the seat bucket to install the rear rack I gave the engine a thorough spray with ACF. Will give it all another spray before the worst of the winter hits us. Also used Scottoiler in the past which is a similar product that worked well

Aprilia: we decided against dual ABS for this scooter. Translation: We don't care about your safety.
