Even though you might have been taught that decline pushups engage the upper chest a lot (which they can) try the variation I showed within the video with the hands lower to manipulate the stress to be on the lower chest. It's all about being creative. You don't have to fixate on a single outcome from one movement!

Chest focused dip Put this way, u can easily see how and why it works that way just by focusing on the body position of each exercise. If we picture the regular push-up as being the neutral 0° version of the exercise, a dip would be a inclination of 90° and a handstand push-ups a declination of 90° ( with inclined/declined being the 30-45° versions in between) Overall good video with some quality advice and effective exercise choices!

Not gonna lose sight of hope, and gonna use the pseudo planche push ups and decline pseudo push ups you spoke of. Dips and front dips are by far two of the greatest exercises to build and define the lower chest, but I've been doing these exercises for years now, feel like my body needs something different. Dips still my favourite exercise though. Keep up the grind Austin!
If ur hands are going above yr shoulder length(in decline pushups) then its for upper region of chest if arms are placed in middle then it mid region if its placed lower then its for lower region

I'm pretty sure if your body is elevated from the ground you'll work more on your upper chest. As you transition the elevation of the body up or down the degree of the targeted muscle of the chest changes as well. I agree variations are important but these strength exercises do emphasize a particular muscle group. I'll try with hands lower than the chest though
You mean 'feet' not body... And yes, I agree with you, I thought the same thing during the video... Instead, I think leaving the feel on the ground while leaning towards a wall doing a push up would target the lower chest.
Start doing the positive part of the push up as fast as you can, you might stop touching the ground a bit, and eventually you'll be able to clapping push ups, same thing with pull ups
This "hand placement" only makes the triceps do more work, dont listen to him it is upper chest, but if you DO wanna hit your upper chest, dont put your feet up as high as he did... that only makes the front dealt do more work
