I’ve had my Jebao SCP-120 for little over a year, without any problems. Recently for the first time, I disassembled it to clean the pump. Wrote down exactly what I did. unplugged from my Power Strip, unscrewed and unplugged the pump connector. Pulled and put the pump in a Dishpan. I used a 3/16” Screwdriver tip to pop the both the end caps off at the tab, at the base. The round part hooks into the pump, don’t pry there. It doesn’t take much effort to get this loose. Removed the Pump from the Magnet Bracket, from the Hook side. Other side is round, and it just slides in there. I looked at how the Pumps Strainer cover was positioned. And pulled one side straight out. With little effort. I only did one side at a time, to not mix up the Fans and Strainers. A Soft Toothbrush was all I needed to clean and a Lab Wash Down Bottle. Reassembled that side. Repeat with other side. The Pump will only go in the Base Bracket one way. Hooked the Round side of the Cleaned End Caps. A sharp tape with the screwdriver handle, snapped the tab in to its catch. Returned the Pump to the Aquarium. Routed and Plugged the Three Prong cable in, Plugged the Power in, pump is running like new. Both the SCP-70, and CP-120 are the same for disassembly. Took 30 minutes for each Pump, start to finish.
I have one of these coming tomorrow for my 4 ft long 75 gallon Petco special! I hope it makes a huge difference because I have some pretty significant dead spots in my tank... Been using two smaller wave pumps and I just don't think it's enough...
Fuzzy dwarf lionfish, great no problems when they are little. He grew really quickly and I had to return him to the store recently :( he was eyeballing my small male clownfish

Would the CP-120 be overkill for a 90 gallon freshwater planted tank?

How big is this tank in gallons? I have a 25 gallon. Do you think this would be overkill?
45 gallons, yes this would definitely be overkill for a 25

I would say over kill. I had a small round one and it was to much flow on the lowest setting in my 40
