Great review! Fair warning I got the Jebao MCP 90 Gyre (think same pump with different controller) and after disassembling the pump to clean it, the pump is incredibly loud to the point I don't use it anymore. May be an error on my end, but be careful when disassembling.
I had one myself on another tank. Had the same experience, but wanted to give this one its own shot before I said that in the video. Yikes. Fair warning indeed. Wonder if some inert lubrication would help? I’ll experiment when the time comes.
You may have switched the Right and Left Rotors. I take one side apart, clean the Cage and Rotator, reassemble, then do the other side. Also the Arrow on the Pump Body Points to the Flat Spot on the Cage. IE The part that doesn’t have the slot openings to discharge the water. Also I soaked mine in Citric Acid for an hour, before disassembling, and cleaning. Don’t use Vinegar, it will destroy any Aquarium Pump.
Keep this series going - budget reefing is what most people do! We can’t all be Mr. Sandler.😢
Will do! I’ll think of new ways to incorporate what I’ve done on this tank, into the channel!
Thats cool you did that for a school I bet the kids will love it!
They enjoy it very much!
