Jebao SCP-150 Sine Cross Flow Gyre 6 Month Review

- It has been 6 months and several people have asked how I like the gyre. I hope this video answers some of your questions. I have not cleaned it the way I should and it still has great flow. I even had a snail shell in the gyre and it didn't damage the pump. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a cheaper option for flow in their reef tank.

I've got the 180 in that same model, love them. Mine is blasting the sps in the lowboy.
It’s doing well so far!
Nice! I have the 120 for my 150g. love it, it's the only pump in the tank. I just got a second one to make cleaning a nonstop flow situation as well as for back up... and still have money left over for corals 🙂
The more you save on equipment the more corals you can buy!
I recently bought one of these for my 4'x2'x2' tank. Ive had to turn it right down to the lowest setting because it was battering my corals and pushing the sand exposing the bottom of the tank. Its perfect on the slowest setting. Very powerful, I'm glad I got the 150 instead of the 180.
Hey Mike,
Do you notice any microbubbles coming from the gyre?
Also, how quiet is yours?
I was given a smaller model and it has suffered with both issues.
Now I can only use it for mixing salt.
Good review.👍🏾
Thanks for the video. Will the Jebao SCP notify you on the app if the wavemaker stops working for whatever reason? I'm wondering as I'm planning to use this for aeration, but I'm wondering what if the wavemaker stops working when I am not home, not because of a power failure but just if the wavemaker motor fails and stops working? How would I know?
There is no app for the Jebao. It is a little loud though. So you can hear it ramp up and down if you have it at 80%.
@shallowreefing Oh... I'm thinking there may be a new version then, cause I see Jebao SCP-120 advertised with WIFI capability and an app online in multiple trusted sources so I think there is an app perhaps for the newer models?
I have 5*2*2 ft size tank approx 150Gallon. Will this one be better then that?
Hi can you helpme ? I have a question I can do more options in program
Would a 180 be enough for a 300 gallon predator tank???
I think so if you don’t have coral. But I would get 2. Just in case one dies or goes out you would have redundancy.
How about now.... still working ?
Yep did a year review on it.
@@shallowreefing thanks for answering mate!!!! After I posted I founded your more recent video... I'm impressed with this brand now . Thanks for sharing your your experience
So you have this and 2 circulation pumps???
Yep!
If you keep up on maintenance they last
I bet it stopped working by now huh?
Nope. Still going strong!
@shallowreefing report back to me when it breaks should be soon
@@This_tubif a $115 pump lasts 3 years. Then I would say that’s a an amazing deal. Subscribe to my channel if you want more updates man! I hope it helps.
@@shallowreefing jebao is notoriously bad mine broke 3 months, many others too see Amazon reviews. You just one lucky sob
i use jebao wavemakers, returns and dosing pumps for 11years and it never failed me! it did last 3 or more years and for the price it is worth it! never had one that suddenly failed. i noticed it got weaker so i bought i new one. i have one return pump i still used up to now to mixed my fresh saltwater ❤
PS
i lived in hong kong so it easy to get jebao/jecod here and i respect Ecotech items for the quality but price is not for me.
