It looks like Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be available on old gen consoles (PS4 & Xbox 1)
I think these games should focus on current gen consoles. I think Xdefiant might be the exception though

I was talking to a friend on the PS party about they wished XDefiant was on last gen. To be honest with you the graphics on XDefiant do kinda look last gen.
battlefield one has the best graphics ive ever seen its a 2016 game.
@deathgrinderb3284 Yes! BF1 is such an amazing game even after 8 years. It sucks that we won’t get another great experience like that again in the battlefield franchise. BF1’s graphics are still gorgeous to look at to this day.

It's more of an art style choice but things like lighting, effects, texture quality play a huge role in something being las gen or new gen. Also loading times are brought down significantly when you have last gen in the mix either making matches load waaay slower for everyone or half the team loading in when everyone is already pushing B on domination lol
Battlefield 4 was a early ps4 game and it has better graphics than most games today. Games now only need to focus on running as well as possible. Graphics are irrelevant as they are no longer improving. The best looking game to date is rdr2 and ir came out in 2018.
Enough said my point stands and why the ps4 and one need to go is cus they cant run even a game like bf4 let alone something like xdefiant well enough to compare with todays systems.
Microsoft and Sony can't fathom that they shot themselves in the foot and now are paying the price. I myself grew up a gamer, started on PS and moved to Xbox for Halo. Down the road bought a PS4. I got a Series X when my Xbox one crapped out. Seeing how games quality have degraded so heavily and the price is going up and up, the ignorant decision they keep pushing sub over just buying and playing like it used to be, (at least microsoft in that regard) The games catering to a group of people who don't play games, multiplayer games like CoD catering to garbage players, and putting the Store ahead of gameplay (Halo has done that as well) No games taking use of the graphical abilities of the current gen. Then their is the lack of disposable income, and with these games being dropped at 70-130 dollars, and not being finished or abandoned before its finished with no refund policy, and Microsoft and Sony allowing it, even promoting it. I've been a console gamer since day one, the SX is my last console. I myself am moving over to PC and Steam were at least you can get a refund. Most of my friends have either stopped playing games, because its just not as fun, or moved over to PC and dropped console all together. These companies keep making bad moves, trying to force things, and its clearly not working. Steam could really kick it in the butt, by starting a Indie Investment program. get small studios off thier feet, for a slightly larger cut after the games release for x time, keep on top of them, make sure they don't screw up, and have them release it for PC and SteamDeck. That would make Microsoft and Sony double back on all this garbage they keep allowing.
XDefiant should definitely be on last gen. If RDR2 can run smoothly on og then XD certainly can too.
I don’t judge people for not being able to get a next gen console on the one hand. On the other hand, as an owner of both next gen consoles, i shouldn’t be getting screwed or punished for it by getting less optimized games at this point. What the hell was the point of getting a new gen console if I’m still getting games that are made for old gen? These next gen consoles came out 3 1/2 years ago for crying out loud. I mean what really is a PS5 and Series X at this point? Essentially a PS4 Pro Plus and a Xbox One X Plus.

Get a Series S then they are like $150-200 on facebook marketplace there is no reason to be stuck on last gen to play the latest games .

At this point, any game with crossplay needs to have the option for crossplay with consoles only. Even if it's restricted to system family rather than Ps/Xbox of both generations. There's too many programs, cheats, and tools on PC to not justify giving console players the choice to play only with each other

In my opinion games shouldn't only be made for current gen though, they should be made however you want to make them and then put on the platforms that can run them after the technical side is already said and done. AAA games have no reason to be on lastbgen because the point of AAA is to be the most technically advanced you can be.
if I'm being honest, I 100% agree the CoD devs and Activision needs to stop releasing CoD games on the ps4/xbox one i feel like it does hold them back trying to make servers barely stable for both last and new gen consoles, I love Treyarch sure they got an extra year to make a cod game but they got dragged to help out with the other 3 CoD games so i find the next one shaddy and worried because it's still getting released on old gen
The situation with upgrading to the PS5/Xbox Series is much different than it was 10 years ago. The global economy is in the middle of a recession, and the prices of consoles have not gone down despite being long overdue for a price decrease. Pay isn't high enough to offset the cost of a console either. I don't blame anybody who stick with their old consoles, and things aren't looking better.

I agree with you but also I feel like the people on old gen probably don't look at the PS5 and be like WOW I MUST HAVE IT bc it's not a crazy next gen jump it just has some better improvements and optimization on things and alot of consumers when they upgrade they really wanna be blown away with their purchase.

I applaud the fact that you can play the majority of games on last gen. The graphics have hit a ceiling so I get it but at this point the new gen has been here for 3-4 yrs. Time to move forward.
On another note, FPS need to stop having a button for jumping and still allow u to grapple onto objects to climb.

I’m thinking they may have outsourced the last gen version to a different studio if I’m remembering correctly treyarch did that with the ps3 and 360 version of BO3 . But yeah I agree they need to kill old gen off it’s holding the next gen games back
This game looks better than BO4 and as someone who plays a lot of Xbox 360 games..this game definitely looks better than a 360 game. Might not have the best graphics, but at the end of the day I don't really care as long as the game is fun.

cod has like 4 thousand devs in each studion and xdefiant had like im pretty sure about a thousand so theres not really much of a reason for them to put that much focus on something like that
They’re making more money if there’s more people playing. Which would mean more content and all that good stuff for us. I think there’s more than enough reason to focus on it

I don't have a PS5 yet. I remember when PS5 launched I tried my damnest to try to get one but it was during the pandemic where people we using bots or whatever to buy up the PS5 the very SECOND it came available. Since then I just stopped looking for it and I havent' had a reason to get a PS5 cuz there hasn't been a game that grabbed me to get it. Also there's a lot of games that are still made for PS4 so I'm sitting here like, well why tf would I bother getting a current PS5? Until they FORCE me to buy one then I won't. Maybe for GTA 6.
This game looks like bo4 . Sucks that I have 60 ping at the lowest and d sync is horrific. Mark Rubin is great at communication though. hopefully they can fix the issues , this game is half baked and not finished. man you so right though Im with you on this. I like the game but it's hard with the issues at hand. I also honestly belive we should get 3 abilities instead of 2. some don't agree, but who am I. yes it should b on ps4. looks at 2016 bf1. its graphics on ps4 are much better. maybe it ran less than 100+ fps. i cant even play xdefiant. last gen still has a player base. def with bidenomics. im a mobile gamer as well. so loving warzone mobile.
Yeah there’s no reason xd can’t run at 60fps on old gen. Obviously they’ll be at a disadvantage against anybody who’s rocking higher frames. But they’re used to that on cod now anyways

Jumping is what needs to go. R6 doesn't have it and it's one of the best playing most skill based games out there. Jumping never gpes well with hit boxes and netcode.
The netcode is fixable by disabling cross play and it's mostly only an issue with pc players as pc has less or no aim assist at all. Something just don't sync up fighting console players.
I may not play much call of duty I have to agree that they need to dropped last gen we are nearly 4 years into the PS5/XSX gen it’s time to move on from last gen I had PS5 over a year if you can’t afford a PS5 or Series X at least upgrade to a Series S you can find a used one for like $150-200 on marketplace their no why you should be stuck on last gen to play the latest games .

XDefiant has messed up by not releasing on last gen systems, because that's where millions of casuals are still at..

I don't think its worth it, theres too many ps4 games that are still. The value of my ps4 still seens than getting a ps5. Too many factors that play into ehether its worth switching.

Why is cod being made for old gens? It feels like we're about to see another MWII. They talk all these devs and 2 years working on it. and playtesting. only for it to be a dogshit game. I need gameplay to change my mind though.

last gen is holding next gen back big-time loaded speed SSD doesn't matter if we have to wait on last gen to loaded up. With there slow hard drive Peoples that say they shouldn't ditch last gen would be like saying they shouldn't ditch Nintendo64 or PS1. Then that would mean graphics would be limited to those system for the ps5- Xbox series x Peoples its 2024 as technology improve every day. If you can't keep up than to bad. Thats just the way, it is but I also understand to. I can afford a GTR just sold my 2011. Making these games for last generation is a mistake. You’re not letting these games show their true potential to start with. They can become so much better. Of course they will still have issues I’m not saying that they will run perfect. No game ever runs perfect. I understand some ppl it could be money situation but it’s time to move on. This is coming from a guy who was recently laid off it sucks.

XDefiant or any other games that are coming out this year should solely be on current gen consoles. Having new games on last gen is just a waste of time and resources.
