How long will salted bait keep like this last before going out fishing?
if it is repacked in some salt and kept in a cool place you can get over 3 months

Wonder how Catfish would like this? There all kinds of variations like Garlic, Cool aid, cooking spray that catch fish..... So will hard tack chicken work on cat fish. ??? It's a puzzlement...
I cant see why not because catfish love chicken - try it and see - please get back to me as to how it goes.
Any problems using pool salt?
No problem as long as it is non iodized, watch next week as I take it out fishing
It gets to dry! I tired so many times different ways ( times) but never was good
Try salting for 12 hours and don't repack in salt
