HD Textures is basicly only worth playing on if you have a 2K or 4K monitor and you mind object to look better the closer you are to them . Epecially small object or objects with corners and tessalations etc.... It doesnt matter much but some people care about it so they throw it in as a option .
I watched the 1440p60 Stream on a 1440p monitor and I can barely tell the difference on still images, and I'm sure I won't notice the difference in game. Thank you for making this video you certainly saved me the extra size and the performance hit I would get if I have installed the HD pack, and thanks Ubisoft for separating the HD pack.
here's the thing, 4k textures does not mean 4k screen resolution. 4k textures just mean more high definition material and meshes. If you have enough VRAM (6gb, but an 8GB gpu is recommended for HD textures), then it will not impact performance in any way

My desktop has a 1070ti, and after applying an 8k texture pack to Fallout 4, it probably dropped about 2-4 frames per second. In rainbow six siege, the 4k texture pack has no affect on my FPS at all. If you have a card with 8 gigs of vram or more, you should be able to use most high resolution game textures.

Wanted to play the game again and looked up for a video showing the new Hd Texture pack! Nice video tho. People in the comments saying that there is Zero difference are legit blind. I mean just look at 0:55 its a good upgrade in textures. For just the Gameplay and you will not notice as much but there is clearly a difference when you look at it while standing. Maybe not worth 20GB but what are 20GB in almost 2023, takes like 3 more min to download and most GPUs have 6+ GB ram so you wont even notice a Performance diffrence because Textures just fill up the memory nothing more nothing less.
I must say if u have enough space on your disk it's absolutely worth it. I really like to look at stones and nature and those HD textures give some depth a details with no performance hit. Also turn on some sharpening and you will see the difference.

HD Textures causes Invisible textures bug which can cause objects to appear invisible or pop in suddenly or be out of place in (x,y,z) coordinates. Removing it makes no difference in my 1080p Max settings graphically. No need to use it.

These HD pack are ment for 4k res and you can't really see difference in packed UA-cam video, which you mostly will watch at 1080p or less.

I can see the difference on my 32 inch 4K screen which has 99.9% adobe color matching. You won’t see the difference on small or cheap ass monitors.
