Lyrics: A ton of love comes down the line A place I’ll never go No one will ever know I kiss the hand I cannot hold I scale the mountain top Just for the photo op And when I see what I have done Laid out on the page It takes my breath away And I don’t mind that it’s not real What difference does it make? You believe it anyway I wanna be anyone but me now I wanna be anywhere but here now Wanna believe anything I choose now I wanna have anything I want now I stole this song from someone else But how is that a crime If it still sounds like mine? The time I could have spent with you Is there for all to see And that’s good enough for me I wanna be anyone but me now I wanna be anywhere but here now Wanna believe anything I choose now I wanna have anything I want now Take the stairway to where you wanna be A show you never saw A dress you never wore Reflecting back at me the kudos and the praise From friends I never met I hope they don’t forget I wanna be anyone but me now I wanna be anywhere but here now Wanna believe anything I choose now I wanna have anything I want now
Love the "Letter from Spain" repeating lyric in the background and the lovely Jeff Lynne style background vocals. This is an excellent tune and is now my closing song on TFB. LOVE IT!
This would have been an amazing closer... thanks for making it available. But I think Count of Unease is kind of perfect where it is... so I'm pleased we now have both.
WOW! I just discovered this after playing the hell out of "THE FUTURE BITES" for a while. Easily one of the best songs from the sessions. I want ALL these B-Sides as a record, NOW!
I bought everything, and was chagrined to learn that when I opened it all, it was diminished in value. Seriously, how did I miss this?? Thank you, Steven. Been with you for decades, and hope to be with you for many, many more.
Love it! Both musically and lyrically ❤ It's really a strange and fake world we are living in rn.. It's funny, I just had a conversation about this topic with my best friends a couple of days ago.. And today we get this song 💫 Thank you for putting it into words so brilliantly 👏🙌

This entire album is AMAZING !! I wish Steve could've toured with it, I could imagine the stage looking like a big TFB store with all kinds of crazy things happening.
@@siddhartino Great song but wouldn5't fit on the album imo besides, Hey Sleeper was a demo from the Fear of a Blank Planet era and I'm guessing it was the basis for My Ashes as well considering that one lyrical reference.
It needn't have been the last track on the album but it should have been on there because it's one of Steven Wilson's best songs of the past five years. A missed opportunity because, although it doesn't fit the electronic vibe of the album, it's way better than any of the tracks on TFB.
Music has that magic of uniting souls. Thank you Wilson for being one of those few who does it so well.
The nostalgic melancholic harmony in this song hits you like an early morning breeze
This is fantastic. Love the ELO-like backing vocals.
I was just going to post the same comment, you beat me to it.
I thought the same thing
Yes. ELO-spirit... !
Me too...love that ELO vibe
Isn't that funny? I can pick out Lynne anywhere, but don't hear ELO in this at all. Oh, well.

🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thnxx steve for this beautiful song.
Awesome!!! Thank you Steven!
Absolutely spot on lyrically, as always. Ridiculous talent sir, congrats on another belter.
Love the demo version in the cassette from the deluxe version. This "official" one is on another level
I actually love the demo more. Still a great song but the lo-fi demo with that amazing arpeggio just makes it for me.
@@daveyt9092 This is better than demo.
@@stevemuzak8526 Nope
Steven has a habit of leaving out proper bangers out from main CD. He did it with A Door Marked Summer, and now this.
Drown With Me
And Eyewitness.
A Door Marked Summer is properly beautiful.
"What Happens Now", another great tune left off the main release.
True brother
The late-Beatles vibe is just killer. This one pushes all my buttons- you win.
He always had a big Beatles-Influence. Like, sad Beatles, if that makes sense.
Love the "Letter from Spain" repeating lyric in the background and the lovely Jeff Lynne style background vocals. This is an excellent tune and is now my closing song on TFB. LOVE IT!
Pocos artistas son capaces conectar con lo mas profundo de nuestra alma, Steven Wilson es uno de ellos.
This would have been an amazing closer... thanks for making it available. But I think Count of Unease is kind of perfect where it is... so I'm pleased we now have both.
Thank you Steven
Great track. Very 'Beatley' vibe to it. Which is always a great thing!!!!😃
WOW! I just discovered this after playing the hell out of "THE FUTURE BITES" for a while. Easily one of the best songs from the sessions.
I want ALL these B-Sides as a record, NOW!
That's beautiful and sad and sums up everything bad about social media and superficiality.
Social media (especially France) is all over a certain jockey at the moment. Let justice prevail.
@@havanadaurcy1321 Does it mean, it's a good thing ?
Truly a perfect mix of sad lyrics mixed with a joyfull sounding tune. Then the song hits you with the feelings.
Beatles vibe. Should have been on the record too sniff
Weird you say that, it instantly reminded me of A Day in the Life
@@aSmashingTime 100%
I was thinking ELO from the backing vocals, but The Beatles, too, of course
Maybe a bit of Blur - End of a century, too? Not that it really matters, it's a great song no matter what his sources of inspiration were.
It's on the cassette of the deluxe edition. But a different mix.
The lyrics: spot on. Great song.
Sounds like a sweet beatle song with a special touch. Its indispensable to fans going in this way of style.
Amazing song and sounds. I am amazed this song is not all over the airwaves.
WOW. I love it too Steven.
Im loving this song so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️ A little bit of Beatles & ELO and the unique SW's sound. Loved the lyrics. This song Its beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Great song. Thanks Steven 🙏😊
I bought everything, and was chagrined to learn that when I opened it all, it was diminished in value.
Seriously, how did I miss this?? Thank you, Steven. Been with you for decades, and hope to be with you for many, many more.
What a wonderful song
So beautiful ❤
Love the Beatles/70s feel backgrounds and feel. love the new work,....wait... I love all your work.
Such a beautiful song.
What a beauty!!
The Beatles meet ELO. It’s catchy…I like it.
And Bread too.
Elo is Beatles alien version itself
Love it!
Another great song thanks for the music.

This is sheer beauty!!
Really nice, loving this...
Some of his best vocals ever!
Awesome!
When we all expected TFB has no more songs. Mr Wilson surprises us again with this gorgeous song 🤘🤘
Again and again again great, amazing and insurmountable Steven ...
Nice! Thank you very much for this! "Privet" from Moscow.
Amazing Song.
All of the influences come out. Beatles, but also ELO
thanks for another gift
The scientist of music returns. 😍 What a beautiful track ❤️
This is awesome
Merci Steven d' éveiller mes sens et ma conscience avec tes chansons.
Fantastic!! Very ELO-ish. It’s a yes from me. 👍

The greatest music never heard of
Pure audio joy.
This is incredible, that ending was extra special too!
absolutely amazing
Just wow 💫🦄
The lyrics hit home and the vibe is very ELO, I approve of both these things.
Oh wow, this just wow.
Slightly great.
Nice! Beautiful! Love it!
Solo ora ascolto questa canzone.... bellissima !!!!.
On Repeat 🔂
Love it! This track would be my favourite on the album. and steven is a better bass player than I thought.
Thank u mr Wilson,🤘🏼🇧🇴
Rock music is dead. Long live rock music.
Great song Mr Wilson :)
Genial Steve, saludos desde Chile
This should've been on the normal CD release.
There is too much guitar. It doesn't fit the electric theme that he was careful to preserve
excellent song, very ELOish.
This is lit!🤘
The keyboard melody from the demo hitting at the second chorus was so GOOD
Another classic SW track
Lord wilson ❤
A bit retro. Very nice!
How can you not put this on a record?
Your voice has matured so much throughout your career. Truly remarkable.
Good stuff!!!
This entire album is AMAZING !! I wish Steve could've toured with it, I could imagine the stage looking like a big TFB store with all kinds of crazy things happening.
This song is so great - and I maintain that Steven's personal and emotional lyrics are infinitely superior to his social commentary-type lyrics
Great song! It should have been on the record.
Definitely prefer this over the demo version, this should've definitely made it on the album along with Ha Bloody Ha and In Pieces.
agreed
Hey Sleeper, also
@@siddhartino definitely

Thank You S.W.
Hope to listen it in tour.

What a nice surprise.
a suprise most welcomed one!
This should have been on the album. It`s a belter.
Sounds like something from Lightbulb Sun era. Well done.
❤️
Jeff Lynne called, he wants his arrangement back. (This is a very high compliment in my book!)
Literally he is the thanos of music
nice song steven, thumbs up from me.
Arriving anywhere but here
Explain how does this not have a billion views?!
Should have been on the album for sure, I really liked the demo version too - more than most of the tracks on the album.
Please release this as a 12” vinyl single!
The ELO Parsons Project. I dig it. It’s a shame this wasn’t on the bonus disc
Spandau Ballet ‘Through the barricades’ riff in the verse. Absolutely beautiful production and feel on this song. Hearing ELO/XTC/Kinks/Beatles. .
Came here to say the same thing!
Wish it had been able to stay, its a lovely track :-) :-(
