Our friend David just opened an Internet Consignment Shop as well as a store front here in town where we live and the last time we were visiting his store he offered his Sharper Image Micro Drone for us to borrow and feature on the channel. We thought this would be a great opportunity to mention his store front to everyone that watches :) Occasionally Abby and I have to sell some of our RC vehicles in order to afford new ones for the channel, and we will be bringing one or two to him from time to time to help both parties! Q: Can I have a Free RC?
A: YES! We do GiveAways All The Time! We highly encourage and invite you to enter our contests fairly. Keep in mind that both Abby and myself (Nate) work Full Time Jobs, pay our taxes, and EARN Everything you see on our channel. This is a HOBBY that we both share and Enjoy Together. Nothing in our lives has ever just been Given to either of us without doing something to earn it. Hard Work goes a Long Way in this world, and we recognize and surround ourselves with those types of people. Begging, lieing and cheating will NEVER get you anywhere, and is only a quick fix to the real problem. If you are a youngster, mow lawns! When I (Nate) was too young for a job, I would mow lawns to get the things I wanted. After that, I always had a part time job to save up for games and toys and other things I wanted to buy. RESPECT is still a thing, and you should do something to earn it back for yourself. Stop Begging for stuff that we worked Very Hard to EARN. We will gladly give things away for our contests to the people that we feel deserve it.
Q: Do you read your comments?
A: YES! We read nearly every comment on our channel! Now with UA-cam's update, it is Very Difficult to read when someone replies to a comment, which in our opinion is a little stupid. We will do our best to reply to Real Comments that are not Spammy, Negative, or Beggy, in any way. If we catch you cussing, put others (including us) down we will most likely DELETE your comment, and if you push your luck we will simply block you. Keep it positive and you'll most likely get a reply Directly from Myself (Nate) or Abby!
Q: How Far / High does it go?
A: Generally speaking, 2.4 ghz (which is basically all RC vehicles these days) will fly / drive further than you can see LoS (Line of Sight) and in many cases even further. We do NOT risk the safety of others on our channel and will not push the range further than we feel comfortable. If you want to see dangerous flying, this is not the channel for you and you should reconsider what you are doing with your RCs before ever flying again.
Q: How Much Is It?
A: We link the product that we are talking about in the description box of almost everything we cover. Abby and I used to say the prices of things in the videos, but in this fast paced hobby with new things coming out every day, prices change and very quickly! We've got the next size up.. the DX-2. It's a neat looking drone and identical to the dx-1 just bigger. Flies great, easy to see in the dark because of the lights. Great Video!
I was given the Sharper Image DX-2 for Christmas from my in-laws. It's a little larger than the DX-1. It flys ok. It's pretty smooth. I'm not a fan of the controller and it only has lights on the top of the quad so it's easy to lose orientation when it get above you. Also good call on the prop guards. I was lazy and didn't put mine on for the first flight. Bumped a table with it and bent a shaft. It's still flys ok but it's a little noisy now. It's not something I would have bought for myself but you can't argue with a gift. 😀

I got 2 of these for my birthday last month from my sister-in-law & I'm not really impressed with them myself. Even though they're not the best, I'm going to keep them since they were a birthday gift. The 1st one I had to resolder a wire that came off the left front motor. The 2nd one wouldn't charge at all. Going to try & replace the battery to see if that works. My sister-in-law got them at a church where they were giving a bunch of items away & these were in the mix. Overall though, excellent video Nate & Abby!! :)

I agree. I do have this quad, and it is not easy to fly at all. I was considering returning it, but never got around to it, so now I just have it stored. If you must go and get a quad store bought, I would recommend the Sky Viper M500. That has a few more features than this Sharper Image one.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips, I got this as my first drone and have been flying it the last few days. For some reason now as soon as I take off it shoots backwards, I've messed with the trim and what not but no luck. Any idea why or how to fix it?
Just bought the sharper image dx1 mini drone yesterday from Walmart for $22. Fun little flyer very low battery time, I mainly use it to chase my son's goolrc around, haven't caught it yet but I will :)
The auto-landing is when the battery is low. So that it doesn't crashes. It also has blinking LEDs 35 seconds before it Auto-Lands

Bought one of these as a little indoor flyer. Bingo stars. Opened the package and BAM!! no USB charging cord. Saw this review and decided to return it. Oh well, maybe my micro quads from gearbest.com will be better. Thanks for the review!!
I have searched through your most recent mini drone reviews, but have not seen any on the Sbego 127w or 130w fpv mini quads. i was wondering if you might consider doing a clip on one. I've checked them out myself, and am impressed with both the flight time and the detachable fpv camera. I respect the way you handle the pieces you do. I would like to hear your comments on these drones.

hey I have a UA-cam channel and I was doing gaming but u guys have inspired me to start making rc,drones,cars boat's and more videos my first video will be on my rc car I don't remember the name but the wire for the reverse came off so this week I will be making a video of me sodering it back together. thx for making these videos ur my favorite UA-camr keep doing what u were doing thank you 😊👊✊
It says auto landing is if signal is lost or battery dies yeah the prop guard not fitting is a bummer especially since when i take mine off it gets a yaw twitch from vibration
Nate and Abby, keep doing what you're doing. Popeye is the star of the show and there are many of us that enjoy your channel. You'll always have negatives, just let it roll off and keep on keeping on. You can't please all the people all the time, especially the guy above. At my age I could care less what folks think, family and pets come first, the rest know where the door is. Cheers guys and keep it up.

I bought this from Wal mart to fly in hotel rooms, (I travel too much) but am not satisfied with it. I can never get it to hover for more than a couple of seconds. It crashes with just the slightest move, really just too cheap to be enjoyable. Thanks for your honest review. And PS..... those people griping about Abby need to shut their pie hole . Good day
Thanks Sam, that means a lot. Negative people usually get what's coming to them. I'm guessing he's already had a dose or two of bad Karma since this comment. You know, we reviewed a soccer ball quad not long ago. I think you would enjoy it in a hotel as it can safely bounce off of everything :)

I was hoping you would do that before christmas.I have my tiny whoop and thats more than enough for me. Plus I can buy them cheap now. I was wondering why the controller was so long. I find that sometimes what the box says is different than what it actually does. Thanks for being honest on this. Is $129.00 a good price for the Parrot quad? I can get one for that price right now. normally its $300,at least thats the MSRP.

Lol, good eye! Abby and I bought our first Lego set together a week or so ago started building it :) It's a light house!
Quality is uncertain. Mine flew great for a few days, then the motors started sounding terrible and spinning inconsistently. I threw it in the trash. I decided to try again to get a good one, since the DX-1 is on sale at Belk for $11.80 as of 12/30/2018.
The auto-landing only happens if the battery dies or if the controller looses connection, (not a rare thing...)
purchased the dx-5. its a lot easier to maneuver and will make you a better pilot to use the dx-1

I have it as well....fly it up about 4 to 5 ft....then turn off transmitter....any higher really and it might keep flying up....an yes it is fast.....lol...headless mode is funny sometimes....Nce Vid guys!!!!!

Buying these things from stores seems to be a bit of a grab bag from what I've seen. I have another Sharper Image drone, one that's a bit bigger than this, and it's never worked quite right. Lots of funky noises and twitching. Wheras the other one I bought from the same store, a Syma X4 (with some goofy rebranded-for-stores name) is really great, even after lots of loopy crashes (it being the one I used to learn the basics of controls, it's crashed the most, still works perfectly). So that aspect is kinda frustrating. I hate ordering stuff but stores like Walmart or whatever just seem to always have really iffy selections when it comes to anything like this. Best tip for pretty much anyone is: Always check reviews before buying.

Hope you're 100% real soon. Thanks guys for what you do. Based on your review I got a Hubsan H501S, Advanced for myself and a H501C for my wife. I know we'll have at least four E010 being flown by grandboys. The only quad that I've had a problem with was the H502S that I purhased for my grandson. I've been working the problem with Hubsan and I'm sure we'll get it worked out soon. Cheers and give Popeye a dog biscuit from me. Cheers.

It's been a LONG time since we've done this video, and have since sold this little guy, but if we didn't show one, it's possible there isn't one and it's just on when it's plugged in.
I have this drone and I think it's pretty good I never had problems with mine and I would buy a second one if I could so in my opinion I really like it I dont think it's hard to fly and it was my first drone I now have 2 more drones that are way bigger but i still really like it i dont use the orientation mode but that's me i would recommend it but it's up to you.

First off - I should have looked at your vid and the reviews.....
Sharper Image thinks their name alone will sell these. Pretty lame
units. I just picked up the DX-1 at a THRIFT store real cheap (reason for impulse buy) thinking it did flips
(what drone doesn't??) - my bad - DX-1 DOES NOT. Pretty cheap &
lazy design if the DX-1 does not flip and both DX-1 & 2(does flip) only have
ONE rate! I called the number on the box and the rep kinda laughed and
agreed not much to these. He also commented " hey there only $40 -$50
drones". Well, you can buy MANY other brands that offer features worth
$40 - $50. Don't waste your $$$ on Sharper Image drones. They look cool
but that's about it!

Its actually not to bad i mean yeah sometimes u have to calibrate but i can fly very smoothly and enjoy it i dont if its because yhe way i fly but i enjoy it its goos i like it
I have a Sharper Image DX-2 it is 2 times bigger then the DX-1 an it has Stunt button. Its the same way hard to fly. The buttons are all backwards . I tried everything to get them fix right I have owned it for 5 months. It came from Wally World . The control it twice as big to. And it don't go in the back it take 6 AA batteries.

We actually linked the DX-2 because it's looking like they are phasing out the 1. Might have to get our hands on one :) Little expensive for what it is and does though, at least on amazon.
