I used to work at firehouse subs. I’m gonna be honest, it’s good but it’s kinda no different then subway. Using frozen meatballs firehouse fives you like 4-5? Meatballs on 1 sub for the footling. Still Costco is way better
I used to buy the Subway Meatball sub when it was on the $5 footlong special. It was great for $5. Nothing special , but we'll worth $5. It is 100% not worth $11 nowadays. $8 max.
I really miss Subway's meatball sub since I went vegan. There are plant-based meatballs and I did try making my own, but it's not in the same universe. There was just something about their meatballs and marinara sauce.
I cook it with the sauce. I want that warm. I also cook the meatballs separate first. I think the bread is over cooked if you don't. I cook it at 300 for 15 mins. I don't use foil. First time I cook it that bread was way over done and the meatballs weren't fully cooked. I also cut it into 1/3. I think 1/3 is plenty of food.

I tried the Publix meatball sub a few months ago. It was good but I experienced acid reflux and I don't regularly have that problem. Looks delicious but I'm going to pass. 😮😮
